  1. Do you think golfers get tackled and hit hard after shots? They don't.
  2. Kirk Cousins got the 2018 equivalent of Josh Allen money getting what at the time was a top 2-3 QB salary compared with the rest of what the QBs were making then. I remember cringing every time I read a post advocating the Bills sign Cousins as a free agent back then. I was really hoping the Jets would sign him, but drafting Darnold was even better in ruining the Jets.
  3. Shea Tierney https://buffalonews.com/sports/bills/inside-the-bills-why-josh-allen-thinks-shea-tierney-is-the-franchises-most-underpaid-employee/article_9cc56888-012c-11ec-b64c-bf2821537654.html
  4. The problem is that of the 5 QBs you mention, only Wilson is worth the money. Goff & Wentz are grossly overpaid & the teams that signed them to the deals were glad to get rid of them & put the rest of the contract on another team's payroll. Cousins has always looked better on a stat sheet than on the field, he's just an average QB if you watch him instead of looking at a piece of paper, Ryan is overpaid based on past accomplishments and is too old & worn down to be a top 10 salaried player. The big problem is teams are paying non-superstars superstar money. Of the current group of young QBs, Mahomes, Allen, Burrow & possibly Herbert are worth paying. Anyone else will be overpaid. Just look at Baltimore & Cleveland who enter this offseason with young QBs on their 5th year option. Cleveland has no idea what to do with Baker Mayfield who so far has had an up & down career. If 2022 is up, they have to pay him. If 2022 is down they have a giant hole at QB if they decide to move on. Baltimore is in an even worse spot. Lamar Jackson is good enough that they have to pay him eventually. The problem is he has regressed since his outstanding sophomore season. Because he is so popular among certain media & fans, it would be a PR nightmare not to pay him big bucks. He's worth it if you get the 2019 version of Lamar. If you get the injured & sick 2021 version you're throwing big bucks down the drain while killing your salary cap at the same time.
  5. No, the Bills need to draft 2 RBs. Definitely 1 early on & another mid round RB later. Singletary is on the last year of his contract next year and unless he comes back on the cheap, he's gone after 2022. There are no other NFL RBs on the roster, so almost a total revamp needs to be done ASAP. One of the main reasons the Bills lost 6 regular season games was because there wasn't much threat of RB production. The only real threat was Josh. That is not sustainable for winning a championship. The Bills may have been within 13 seconds of advancing last week, but the seeds were planted earlier by the lack of a balanced attack that cost us home field advantage.
  6. Davis Webb should be offended they didn't call him in for an interview. How do you even compare the two? McCown: I helped Sam Darnold develop into the QB he is today. Webb: I helped Josh Allen develop into the QB he is today. Slam dunk winner & next Texans head coach should be Davis Webb!😜
  7. Dak Prescott is much more deserving of it than Joe Burrow. Burrow played twice as many games as Prescott in 2020 and had no body of work to come back to prior to his 10 game rookie year. A 2nd year player should never get the comeback award.
  8. No way! WR isn't the problem on this team. We have much more pressing needs & to trade our #1 (and a 4th that is just piling on) for another WR is foolish. Plus Metcalf is going to want a pretty big extension or you lose him in 1 year. Horrible draft capital value.
  9. I'm bitter that I won't be going to the Super Bowl, I had everything planned if the Bills won the AFC, but I'll still watch this weekend and the Super Bowl on TV.
  10. I don't drink, fool. NJ is considered part of the NY metro area and nothing you say or think will change that. Of course NJ isn't part of the city, but you are seriously being obtuse.
  11. I thought he was one of the worst head coaches ever in Denver. I'd rather have Dick Jauron.
  12. Is your name Abdiell Suero? You sure sound like him: Although the both teams operate in and represent the greater New York metropolitan area, the fact that the New York Giants and New York Jets have played in East Rutherford, N.J. for decades has been a point of contention for those whose pride resides on a certain side of the Hudson River. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/fan-sues-giants-jets-for-6-billion-demanding-both-teams-leave-new-jersey-and-play-home-games-in-new-york/
  13. They bring in a veteran & bring a late draft choice/UFA into camp to compete for the practice squad. I won't be surprised if Webb gets Shea Tierney's job as assistant QB coach because Tierney is probably joining Daboll as his QB coach. Tierney is very close with Daboll, joining him in Buffalo in 2018 from Alabama. Maybe Dorsey gets OC & Tierney gets the QBs, but that still leaves the assistant QB job open for Webb.
  14. Stop the BS! You obviously don't get the concept of a metropolitan area. Look it up Thurman. I'm a native of NYC, born in the Bronx grew up on L.I. I know that northeastern NJ is part of the NYC metropolitan area, why don't you? You can see Manhattan from East Rutherford. There are tons of people who every day commute from NJ to NYC.
  15. I'm also an ABA historian. Went to a lot of ABA games in my teens. I have a bunch of stuff published on the website "Remember the ABA". I was living in Suffolk County NY during the USFL years. My big regret is I never went to the Meadowlands for a USFL game and my biggest regret is not going to the final game, the USFL Championship played in NJ. One day I was in my car listening to a Generals/Houston Gamblers game and Jim Kelly suffered a knee injury in the 1st half. The announcers were speculating he'd be out for weeks. The 2nd half starts & Jimbo is out there still playing. That's when I learned how tough Kelly is.
  16. Hank Bullough was supposed to be the Pittsburgh Maulers head coach in 1985 but the team folded and Hank joined the Bills staff under Kay Stephenson in January 1985 instead, replaced Kay during the 1985 season & was replaced by Marv in 1986.
  17. I looked up the USFL teams through the years (I have a USFL file with newspaper & magazine clippings in an envelope and the two published USFL Guides and Registers). The final year, 1986, which was never played had the following teams: Baltimore Stars, New Jersey Generals, Orlando Renegades, Tampa Bay Bandits, Birmingham Stallions, Arizona Outlaws, Jacksonville Bulls, and Memphis Showboats. Of the teams with cities/nicknames that were gone by 1986 that the USFL will be using, the Pittsburgh Maulers played 1 season, 1984, the Michigan Panthers played in 1983 & 1984 then were folded into the Oakland Invaders for 1985 and the entire team folded before the proposed 1986 season, There was only one season of the New Orleans Breakers, 1984, for 1983 they were the Boston Breakers and played as the Portland Breakers in 1985 before folding. The Houston Gamblers played in 1984 and 1985 and for 1986 were folded into the New Jersey Generals who went to camp with both Flutie & Kelly as their QBs. Finally the Philadelphia Stars played in Philadelphia in 1983 and 1984 then moved to Baltimore and became the Baltimore Stars and were among the teams that stuck it out until the end.
  18. I guess Shoen will be signing another ex-Bill or two as training camp fodder too. Wait till he makes the team before opening your eyes.
  19. Give it a rest. Orchard Park isn't in Buffalo. Both cities are pretty close to the football stadiums. Also Met-Life is in East Rutherford.
  20. The teams are all using former USFL team names. The craziest part is they will all be playing in Birmingham Alabama so the cities mean absolutely nothing, except the Birmingham Stallions will be playing at "home" for every game. All the coaches have been chosen. https://www.foxsports.com/stories/usfl/usfl-2022-jeff-fisher-larry-fedora-named-as-final-two-coaches Here are some highlights: The USFL is a new American football league owned by FOX Sports. There will be eight teams in the new USFL, split into two divisions: North and South. Each team will play a 10-game schedule, with teams in the same division playing each other twice and teams in the other division once. The top two teams in each division will play against each other in the semifinals followed a week later by the championship game. Tickets for the inaugural game are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for kids under the age of 15. Details about tickets for other games will be announced shortly. Where will games be played? In the inaugural season of the USFL, all eight teams will play in Birmingham Alabama, at both Protective Stadium and Legion Field. Who are the USFL head coaches? Jeff Fisher (Michigan Panthers) and Larry Fedora (New Orleans Breakers), were the final two of the eight coaches announced Thursday. They joined Skip Holtz, Birmingham Stallions; Kirby Wilson, Pittsburgh Maulers; Mike Riley, New Jersey Generals; Todd Haley, Tampa Bay Bandits; Kevin Sumlin, Houston Gamblers; Bart Andrus, Philadelphia Stars.
  21. They lost the game because the O-line was a mess. What was McDermott supposed to do, play OG himself ? If your mind is blown when a team loses a game with an O-line in shambles, maybe you need to understand the game better.
  22. I wish they hadn't cut off the press conference on WGR & the Bills site that used the WGR feed before it ended.
  23. Anyone who understand what the word contract means would never have proposed this idea. He has 3 years left on his contract. NO will demand major compensation from any team that he went to. He's sittingout a year in hopes that by next year NO will be willing to take a lot less, like when Arians took time off between Arizona & Tampa & the compensation was a low draft choice. For 2022, if Payton wants to coach another team, that team would have to give up at least a 1st round pick. Jerry will wait a year & Payton, who already owns a house in Dallas, will be their coach in 2023 after Jerry gives NO a draft pick or 2. Peyton Manning won't coach the Bills to a Super Bowl and neither will Sean Payton.
  24. Good for him. He walks into a much better situation than if he waited for Arians (and Brady) to retire in Tampa & be left with no QB.
  25. Not with 3 years left on a contract & NO not about to let him quit one day & sign with someone else without big compensation including at least one 1st rounder.
