Are injuries a legit excuse this year?
dorquemada replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"you! ragland! I thought I told you the MLB's job was to run around in circles doing jazzhands! Do as I say!" -
You must know him personally, and have decided that his focus will not shift when the currency in which he is now dealing is not measured in dollars Actually, it's the other candidate and her supporters who are claiming to have "won" by a set of rules other than those that we've operated under for 200+ years, and being tremendous crybabies in the process. Also, it's funny acting like Bills fans, on this very board, on this very day, don't make ridiculous claims about statistical victories versus the more traditional scoreboard varieties. I thought we reached peak "moral victory" under Jauron but i guess not

I'm glad for the Peglulas as well, which I already stated in this very thread. What I'm contesting is the idea that Donald Trump, owner of the Buffalo Bills and President of the United States, would move the Bills from Buffalo. It makes basically zero sense politically and would work in direct opposition to the political image he's cultivating. He doesn't make that sort of mistake (and lol@you forever if you think him pissing off the fainting couch left wasnt 100% intended), but would be more likely to make the Bills a showcase, another bragging point for him. If you don't see that then you don't know much about him or how he's going to govern

Yeah, you're a guy that clearly understands classy. What on earth makes you think DJT would move the team from Buffalo? It flies in the face of everything the guy has said and done. Is this one of those deals where "I don't like thing therefore guy I dont like would do thing"? Most of us figure out by early middle school that thinking that way leads to bad decisions, but I guess by virtue of your posting I answered my own question

The Pats lost Brady and went 3-1. Deep Fry Dareus is in no way comparable to Tom Brady when it comes to relative importance to his team. I loved Ragland at Alabama, but he's not going to single handedly fix the D. Had Watkins played more this season, maybe they win another game? hard to say really, but I sort of doubt it with TT under center, a QB that minimizes WRs contribution -
I've come around to this too. The O isn't the problem and has been generally pretty good under Lynn. They need to work on longer drives in teh 2nd half, fewer 3 and outs, but given the situation Lynn would be a good choice to maintain at least a veneer of stability and continuity. Find a creative young DC and maybe we have our coaching staff for a while

Just Moved From Boston - Explain This To Me!
dorquemada replied to Flip Johnson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
from page 1, but decided this post didn't get enough love. nice work -
Right, I'm the moron, not the guy making unsubstantiated claims from a place of ignorance. So, what business have you done with the City of New York? What do you actually know about doing business with NYC Government? Can you explain the first thing about the permitting process for major commercial developments? How about ER? Anything? Or are you just some dousche who has sadbrains because his abuela lost?
-
Again, you're acting like that would be a bad thing, getting Russ Brandon away from the Bills. Im not sure where this idea comes from that Trump putting people in his cabinet that he knows is some sort of new evil is coming from. Every single president in history has stocked his cabinet with people he knows. Granted, the people Trump knows are mostly successful business people, but it's a weird thing to automatically assume that means they are stupid or evil. It really betrays a certain mindset on the person making the claim. Art.

OK Smart guy, do you deal with the City of New York in any capacity besides a slack jawed tourist? I mean, I'm pretty sure I know the answer, which is you have never had any sort of business dealings with NYC, or you wouldn't be saying that. It's an exceedingly difficult environment to do any sort of business in, especially when it comes to things like permitting and ER. But maybe you should go back to your huffington post safespace and post memes of trump as a clown or whatever you poor losers cool kids are passing off as political insight these days edit: so, klos63, you look like jackass so you're deleting your posts. Now I get why you're a Hillary fan!

Oh, another embittered Hillary fan. Yeah that Donald Trump sure is an idiot, not like your abeula who lost to him! She's the real genius here! Maybe, just maybe, when you're done clutching pearls and can get up off your fainting couch, you'll see that Donald Trump is actually pretty good at organizing and running things. I can tell you for cold hard fact how hard it is to do business in the City of New York, and the fact that he's successfully built there tells me what I need to know about him. I'm glad that Pegs is our owner but just because your historically horrible candidate lost, and you and the rest of her fans, like a group of 5 year olds being told they aren't going to get playtime today, can't stop throwing tantrum after tantrum, doesn't mean that Trump is going to be a bad chief executive, or that the Bills would have been worse off under his ownership. Time to grow up. I'm sure you have evidence of that, and will be providing it shortly, right here, the rest of us will just wait

It's a very bad chain of command. Like I said somewhere else, in the workplace, skip level communications are poisonous to management in the middle

This is the direction in which I'm leaning. The rules are for thee (players not #99) but not for me (#99) is a really crappy precedent to set. With all the antics Dareus has gotten up to in the last couple years, I think it's pretty natural for the other players to be resentful, knowing if they did the same things, they would be benched or cut. It can be little things that add up to big things.

We're all in agreement that this season is disappointing. Weirdly, I think most of us agree that we would rather see them lose out at this point because it's the best chance to trigger Terry and Kim doing a legit housecleaning. It's a strange position for a fanbase. A significant reason for the depth of feeling this year is that we all (most of us - some of you were predicting 6-10 or 7-9. I wish we had a sticky from the pre-season prediction thread, maybe next year?) were expecting more. We all wanted the playoffs, I think even among the doubters, we were at least expecting a competitive team that fought every game. Allowing for those two ideas, it seems like there's been a major malfunction somwhere on this team. Obviously Rex is a joke of a coach, and Tryhard has regressed, which probably has a few reasons behind it. Here's my theory, and I come by it from my experience managing people, including my current team of 7 professionals. This team has an individual or perhaps more than one, who is/are embittered against the team management or leadership in some way, and are working at cross-purposes to the vision and plan. Hell, it might even be the coaching staff not getting along with Whaley, though i think maybe that's a little less likely to play out than a player or 3 sowing discord in the locker room. I don't know who it might be, except i still feel like Marcel Dareus has made this team worse since he returned. Before anyone takes offense on his behalf, i'm just sharing my observation. I'm not sure he's motivated or smart enough to do that effectively, but I don't doubt that some players resent his enormous salary and lackadaisical attitude. That's my idea, anyone have any other suggestions as to who might be the malfactor?

Open letter to the Buffalo Bills
dorquemada replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just wanted to point out, that the river in Cleveland would allow the Bills to simultaneously drown and burn, though given this keystone kops krew, they'll probably only do one or the other -
I share your frustration with this stupid team. Because of a combination of factors, I haven't been able to watch a game on TV since the 49ers game. I have the Sunday ticket and have DVRd each one, but honestly, i havent opened a single one yet, and probably will just wipe the whole lot off the box to free up space for more compelling programming like "vertical bars at 3am" or reruns of mama's family. I'll agree with your point too that the Bills being their ongoing terrible selves, and the horrible officiating have made me lose interest in the NFL overall. Now its more interesting to me in the abstract, watching the ebb and flow of the teams rather than actual games. I'd really like to see the Bills right the ship here but have almost zero faith. I think Pegs is probably a great human being, and Buffalo is supremely lucky to have Terry and Kim, but I'm not sure they have the right personality to make the kind of decisions that are going to be needed to fix this mess.
