Fred Jackson wants to play in 2017 but retire as a Bill

If they want to sell tickets, promising to let FJ play a series or two would do it for me! -
Who ends their playoff drought first, Bills or Sabres?
dorquemada replied to Peevo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
100% sabres. like it's said above, Sabres have some good young talent, the Bills really don't. They've been drafting terribly for years and even when they chance upon a player like Watkins, he's not on the field enough, or surrounded by the sort of needed talent to make a difference. Unless the bills coaching staff is an order of magnitude improvement, there's little chance they'll do any better than 8-8 which isn't going to make the playoffs, probably ever, in the AFCE. Someone posted in another thread the grim reality of the Bills last few drafts, when you're only keeping a couple players from each draft, then finding the rest on the scrap heap, well, you're going to be a bad team -
it's generally courteous to announce when you are the parent of a player or prospective player so your cheerleading can be taken in context

So when will Brady slow down
dorquemada replied to Cusefan66214's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
right, unlike Marcel Dareus, Brady is a consummate pro who practices continual self improvement. clearly it's part of the culture with the pats -

dorquemada replied to Cusefan66214's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
sort of like making a law that the sun rises in the east. it's gonna weather you write a law or not, and the bills don't need brady's help to stay out of the playoffs -
It's dumb to compare players across eras for any number of reasons, but something tells me Brady would be just fine if you plunked him back to 1992. First off, he'd probably be the biggest QB in the league, what is he like 6'5", and a big guy who, as he proved last night, can take a hit.

Terry Pegula on WGR550 12:30 Today
dorquemada replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah and the very idea of Romo behind center just makes me want to not bother watching the Bills. It's Tyrod or Bust this year -
i didn't realize it was sarcastic, but I did look at who posted it and thought to myself "this isnt one of the normal counter-factual reprobates that loves to be contrarian for contrarianism's sake"

was thinking same. also, pats arent going to lose to atlanta

the most predictive stat of all time strikes again
dorquemada replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed, it's actually better for a team to have bad players and coaching, it helps them prepare for the really hard games. in fact, i'd rather they only won a single game each year or decade, but they win it against all odds so we can all bask in the glory -

so what you're saying is.... teams with great QBs are more successful? that's a pretty spicy take there -
The worst is we waste a draftpick on a QB that doesn't pan out, which would be horrible to a degree heretofore unimaginable in the pristine halls of twobillsdrive. Oh hang on a sec, we've already seen that movie what, 10 times? The best is that we end up with a great QB who leads us back to the promised land and does his uncle proud. The middle path is, he becomes an adequate starting QB in the NFL.

I think it's been pointed out a couple times already, but Jim Kelly was hardly a model teammate or human being when he was Chad's age. I mean, we probably don't know half of the stuff he got up to because there was no social media in 1983. He did grow up though, and turned into the man and QB that we all look up to now. Honestly, some of the moralizing and judgmental things people are saying about Chad makes me wonder what kind of people you are. I hope at least you have a comfortable couch to faint on every time you find out a 20 year old young man does something stupid. It was also pointed out, and bears repeating, that Jim would likely take a direct and meaningful role in Chad's development, and maybe even accelerate his personal maturation process. That's an ace in the hole most guys like Chad don't have. I have no idea if CK would be a successful NFL QB, but for people here to shout down the very notion of it seems pretty dumb, especially when you look at the alternatives. CK played some fantastic ball in a very hard conference, and twice made a really good Alabama D look foolish.

Schefter says decision is made - Tyrod is gone

I tend to be a glass half full guy, what if in addition to throwing some more interceptions, the new qb also leads some 4th qtr comebacks? or throws for 300 yards every now and again rather than once every 30 games -
Have folks already given up on Cardale?
dorquemada replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
agreed on the bolded part, that's an inexperienced QB playing against an experienced D, but that can absolutely be corrected -
Have folks already given up on Cardale?
dorquemada replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be ok with that, assuming he works hard in the offseason, and has a solid preseason. I'd also be ok with bringing in a competent vet, and have them platoon until CJ is ready, a la Don Strock/Dan Marino -
Oakland compared to Bills stats
dorquemada replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This isn't complicated. Good teams win close games, bad teams lose close games. The Bills lose close games more often then not, ergo are a bad team. Having an anemic passing game makes it hard to score quickly. A dominant run game is great, as long as you can take and hold a lead, much less useful for comebacks. I don't know the answer though, clearly Tryhard is our best QB in a while, but only good enough for the 30th best passing O -
I saw enough out of Cardale today to see some promise but not enough yet to let go of Tryhard. Keep TT, see if he'll renegotiate a bit, continue to develop CJ

Are injuries a legit excuse this year?
dorquemada replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It seems to me that Watkins is the best (most talented?) player on this team, but probably not entirely critical to it's W/L record because the 2016 Buffalo Bills are pre-modern era football team, where the forward pass is considered an exotic and not to be trusted innovation
