Would love to agree with you but there are still far too many voters in this country who are willing to sell their vote a few hundred dollars in the form of a small tax cut/credit for themselves or the chance to get something "free". Liberals will continue to buy votes with other people's money and pander to all their specific groups which when assembled together create a majority. Obamacare as a political weapon should have resulted in Romney winning by a landslide. In this country it's hard to move more than about 55% of the people to either side of a presidential election or congressional elections as a whole.

Positively outstanding. Gatorman, can we agree on that? NATO should hire Elizabeth to negotiate with Vlad.

Governor has more autonomy than a President. Quite a bit more actually in Illinois. Yeah, Illinois is a blue state and won't go red any time soon, but Rauner has a good shot to win I think. Quinn won only 2 counties in 2010 (Cook county which is Chicago and near suburbs and 1 small down state county). Quinn has low popularity and is running on the heals of a big tax increase, high unemployment and as a leftover from the Blago era. Rauner will campaign heavily in Cook county and has done a lot of charitable work there. Even Durbin is vulnerable for Senate this time around. He last won in a presidential election year when Obama was obviously a huge draw in 2008.

Don't like the data. It says nothing about the driving habits, ability and experience of the drivers of different sized cars. Nothing about miles driven by size of car either. It doesn't well define the period of time studied. Hard things to measure but probably impactful in the results. -
If Obama had any sense right now he would have skipped the bracket. With so much stuff making him look bad he could at least created some perception that there are matters of greater importance compared to his bracket. For a guy who is all about perception, he missed an opportunity there.

I think the phrase "We are a nation of immigrants" should be replaced with "We are a nation of idiots". The electorate has earned it. Party loyalty and being uninformed makes it very hard to sway the voting body too far off center. Romney should have clobbered Obama in 2012. The morning after that election was not a proud day for our country. -
Here's the problem, Democrats

The left will simply argue that the right is not providing the necessary support that inner cities need. Free health care, free pre-school, free college, a government guaranteed job and everything else that is necessary to get people from point A to point B in life. -
This should shape up to be one of the most interesting Governor elections around the country in November. Rauner, a pretty conservative self made man and the first non-politician in a looonnnggggg time to run has vowed to break through the corrupt and heavily union controlled state government. I've met and have spoken with him. Terrific guy IMO and his only agenda is to fix things. He doesn't need the money, he doesn't need the headache either. He's simply tired of the B.S., corruption and fiscal irresponsibility. Incumbent Governor Quinn has already opened the Dem playbook and is attacking Rauner for his wealth. Should be a good one to watch. http://www.nbcchicago.com/blogs/ward-room/Bruce-Rauner-Wins-GOP-Gubernatorial-Nod-250893621.html

The party in power almost always !@#$s up. Obama, Reid and Pelosi just telegraphed it better than most. -

Maybe the scope of the project changed along the way. Maybe HHS has determined that there is a greater need for data mining. -
Republicans have never in the last 40 years received the majority of vote from Latinos, even after Reagan provided amnesty.

I'm sure you're accurate but given the nature of her email and the risk that info could pose for the administration, I can''t be convinced that the content won't be "adjusted" as needed to prevent exposing the naked truth. -

Yeah, easy to do. If throttle sticks at something less than WOT it doesn't take much brake pressure to steady or slow the car down so using the brakes can work also. I think a lot of people would be freaked out if they throw the car in neutral and the engine starts banging off the rev limiter while the are trying to figure out what the heck is going on. What's best to do is gonna depend upon the situation. Most people probably way outside their comfort zone regardless of how they try to resolve it. As a nation we're pretty crappy drivers overall IMO. Luckily a struck throttle is extremely rare. -
The Federal Government--The New Slave Masters

Looking at this by race is not useful to me. There is a set of characteristics and bad decision making on the part of the individual that prevents people of any color from attaining even modest success in life. We've had a number of people work at our company who I would call rehab projects and they have been of all colors. For the most part they have all crashed and burned even when we provided them with a decent opportunity and more help than most others. None have stayed with the company for more than a year or so and a few have ended up in jail or other legal trouble. Nearly all of them have the same background coming from broken families, had poor or incomplete high school results and failed to do the basic things at a job that allow for success such as show up on time every day and give a respectable effort. Throw in some dishonesty also. I suspect most employers have extended a helping hand to individuals such as this at one time or another and more often than not gotten similar results. Sure some people get their act together but my experience says most don't. So over time employers learn not to hire such people because they aren't the best candidates and they can't be relied upon. Basically these people are unemployable in anything but the strongest economy where the labor supply is short. As a company we are done making risky hires. The liberal safety net for such people simply makes it easier for the recipients to continue making bad decisions. If you subsidize poverty and lousy productivity, you simply get more of it. . -

So now Lerner's emails will be turned over to Congress and we're supposed to believe that the IRS hasn't misplaced some of them or that she may have used more than one email address? -
Yes, and for a number of good reasons. We don't know who and what is coming across the border. Nobody can answer the question of how we're going to employ all of these people along with Americans and it rubs a lot of people the wrong way to give preference to people that broke the law.
