no charges in IRS investigation?
keepthefaith replied to Azalin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Just waterboard her and get this over with. Enough already. -
If the 2 dominant political parties in this country were the Tea Party and the Republican party, we'd be in decent shape.

"What if Obama can't lead?" :o
keepthefaith replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Just another window into the heart and mind of Obama. Gotta hand it to him, nothing trumps the agenda. -
I doubt the international community sees the Crimea penn as worth much effort to defend. Fact is that nearly any nation with a strong military could invade a weak country with nothing more to fear than a lot of white noise and some financial inconveniences. Russia will get what it wants from this situation without much resistance. Putin's biggest risk is with his own people politically.

Yet another baseless cry of racism which is really a despicable act on your part. Isn't that getting old, even for you? Do you have any idea how much that statement does to cheapen you? You're already a penny stock trading below $.01 although most here will jump all over me to declare that you've been intellectually and morally bankrupt for a long time.

Jairus Byrd [was Jarius Byrd]
keepthefaith replied to Iowabillsfan4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills front office and Buffalo does not offer a favorable combination of money, winning tradition and what some players want in cultural surroundings. If you solve at least 2 out of 3 you have a better shot at free agents. -
Many old plans did not meet the HHS definition of minimum levels of coverage, so old plans are replaced with similar plans that meet that standard. Things like maternity care and preventative care and other mandated coverages result in increased premiums. There are some new taxes and fees buried into the thing so those are other increases.

Publically the big mistake Obama made is issuing the "there will be consequences" statement and then calling Putin only to get nowhere on the call. I doubt Obama cares if Russia ends up annexing part of Ukraine so why even make the statement. In no way does this impact his mission of economic justice and Democrat rule in America.

Ya know the idea of splitting the country isn't so crazy. I think the righties in such a split would agree to keep and fund the military to protect lefty nation in exchange for the US constitution. You can write your own. Which half of the county do you want, east or west? I'd agree to take whichever half you don't want. Oh, and you get Obama in the deal which should be mighty tempting.

Really Barack? What are you gonna do about it? His comments made me laugh. http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/28/politics/ukraine-obama-statement/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

Couldn't agree more. The country is plenty Bush-weary. Hopefully Clinton-weary too. -
no charges in IRS investigation?

I put the chances of her disclosing anything meaningful at about 10%. What are they going to do if her attorney's position is that she has not waived her 5th amendment rights? Even if she talks she may withhold the truth or simply say she cannot recall things. These hearings (including fast and furious, Benghazi, and others) have no teeth because witnesses routinely don't answer truthfully or fully and there is no downside. Nobody gets cuffed in contempt or ever is prosecuted for perjury. That and Issa and the rest don't ask the questions that get to the heart of these matters. They leave opportunity on the table. -
Cuomo to announce new IBM facility for Buffalo
keepthefaith replied to TPS's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It's good news if there is a return on the investment. I'd like to see the terms of the lease offered to IBM. -
We've already seen a horrendous incident in our family where an old person was denied coverage for rehab services ordered by the hospital. A social worker asked several times if the patient had the means to pay, and we'll never know for sure but we believe the decision was based on that somewhat. There's no doubt that Obamacare seeks to spend less on seniors and I think there is a good debate to be had about that, but instead of solving that out in the open, it's done through the application of a law that most don't want or understand.

Failing Cities And Their Common Denominator

Looking at states, it's no surprise that most of the states in better fiscal shape are red States and most of those in the bottom half are blue states. Just shows the contrast in styles and approaches. Fiscal restraint and economic growth just aren't in the Left's DNA. http://mercatus.org/publication/state-fiscal-condition-ranking-50-states -
4 incredibly revealing minutes on our commander in chief for those that haven't heard it. Redistribution in his own words.

FCC To Monitor Media's Choices In News Stories

Why is it when I hear about stuff like this that my first thought is that Eric Holder probably came up with the idea? -
Setting up the Global Warming lies to come
keepthefaith replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Clearly, the republicans are at fault. Since about the time Reagan was elected, the earth's temp began to rise (see first chart). Possibly the cold war was keeping temps down as temps also rise at the time that ended. Looking to the end of the chart, it's clear that electing Obama has help temperatures to stabilize. This makes a good argument for ending term limits so that the world can "stay the course". http://www.climate.gov/news-features/climate-qa/why-did-earth%E2%80%99s-surface-temperature-stop-rising-past-decade -
Evil Koch Brothers Flooding The Fields With Donations
keepthefaith replied to 3rdnlng's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Some of the time yes. IRS limiting 501C orgs would slow down fundraising as an example or prosecuting a guy for his fundraising activities after he made a movie about Obama is another. Looks pretty close overall, although the Dems spent $100 mil less than raised according to the source but must have had some campaign debt to retire based on ending balance. http://elections.nyt...ampaign-finance -
I'd like to hear from Mr. Gator.

So what is wrong with supporting a group of citizens that believe in fiscal and personal responsibility? Why are these bad virtues? Wouldn't we be better off as a nation if fewer people relied on taxpayer funded programs? Isn't reducing dependency good for everybody?

Setting up the Global Warming lies to come
keepthefaith replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
No doubt the environment is important and sensible changes toward that goal should be widely supported and over the past several decades, many things have been done to that end.
