  1. My comment had nothing to do with the politics of entitlements of which I'm quite aware. I simply commented that that government should put new limits on benefits and better qualify recipients. Now do I think that'll happen any time soon? Hell no.
  2. Shouldn't the government closely scrutinize the eligibility of those that receive benefits? From what I've seen they they usually lean hard in favor of the recipient when it's questionable. We need time limits on benefits. Otherwise people get comfortable being "in the system" and stay there forever.
  3. How many black republicans in Congress supported the ACA?
  4. Any responsible President knowing that the changes to be implemented are very large in scope and will effect nearly every citizen would have told Congress in advance that he would only sign something with broad support from both parties. Instead we have something that is proving to be unpopular and will ultimately be a political burden on Democrats rather than a political victory. That this thing was poorly crafted, would overall raise health care costs, would add to the deficit and inflict pain on employers and consumers was one of the most telegraphed outcomes that I can recall.
  5. If that's the conclusion they came to at the time, Obama and co. could have simply said so afterward. The truth shall set you free. Instead the spiral of lies continues. It's amazing how politicians can almost never admit when they !@#$ed up.
  6. Actually I do like him ever so slightly more each day as we get closer to his last day in office.
  7. The labor participation rate which is stated as working age people down in the low 60's is awful unless of course you are a politician that relies on the non-working voters. Does anyone know if the 800K leaving the workforce includes retirees? I have not seen that number explained before. If not, that'a horrible number.
  8. Bush had a 26% or so approval rating late in his 2nd term which means many of his previous supporters disapproved of him. Comparing a lousy performance from years ago to a lousy performance today doesn't make today's lousy performance any better.
  9. Maybe so but that's hindsight. Once they heard of the attack did they know how long it would last? No. Did they make an effort to save our people, no. In fact they did the opposite. Even after the bad decision or non-decision to send help, they could have owned up to that in their explanation of the events. Simply state that they weighed their options, didn't like them and had to unfortunately abandon our people. Instead they came up with a lie and everyone from Rice, Obama, to Hillary and Carney used that lie. All of them on multiple occasions have stood in front of the camera and lied. That lie (the video) was parroted by nearly every Dem who spoke on the matter. That lie is still being defended.
  10. Some Dem woman seem attractive that is until they open their mouths and the socialism rolls out. \ She wouldn't make my top 100.
  11. Not defending the guy but is there anyone in the country with a tougher job than Jay Carney? Frankly I don't know how he sleeps at night.
  12. Let's not forget people that the rich continue to do well. What we need is more targeted government spending and more taxes, but the damn obstructionist Republicans are trying to kill the recovery for political reasons. We need to wind the clock back to '09 for when the Dems had control everything. Not much has gotten done since then. That and we need Obama for a 3rd and possibly 4th term. If the Republicans (or even worse more tea party conservatives) get into office, they'll set us back for decades. Voters need to understand the peril we face as a nation if Dems don't pick up the house and keep the senate in the upcoming mid-terms.
  13. Good grief you are stubborn. Anyone paying attention before today can see this situation for what it is. Let me take my best shot at how Obama, his Whitehouse and re-election campaign dealt with this. They had to cover the truth as they knew it could cost him the election. The timing of the event was horrible. Their spin on the truth was justified in their minds because it wouldn't be fair if 1 bad event at just the wrong time caused voters to make a poor short term decision to elect the other guy.
  14. Our costs at our company have risen dramatically since the ACA began to phase in and we've been warned about near future larger increases. I'm sure we mirror the market based on others I have spoken with. That an there should be a cap on government benefits for able bodied, able minded people. Give 'em 5 years or something similar. After that, get your act together or go to your family or your state for help.
  15. Holder apparently believes that behavior is exactly equal, therefore the arrest rate is not equal. How long until the crooks in some neighborhoods realize that once the monthly arrest quota is reached in their neighborhood that they'll have free reign for the rest of the month?
  16. Yes, rates were rising much faster than inflation. Now they'll rise faster than faster than the rate of inflation, many businesses will trim payrolls and consumers will have fewer choices of coverage and doctors.
  17. More fuel on the fire. More evidence that the White House covered up the truth about Benghazi.... http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/04/29/benghazi-emails-suggest-white-house-aide-involved-in-prepping-rice-for-video/
  18. When you're the owner of a sports franchise and in the public eye you're going to be closely scrutinized. He deserves the negative attention he's getting IMO given the remarks.
  19. Yeah but I'm dying to hear the specifics. What exactly does the the AG want for them?
  20. Can't believe Holder's gonna leave us all hanging on this. I wish he would have told us what are the benefits that people of color should be getting.
  21. Ticket are very difficult to come by. Face value much higher than a Bills tickets and finding seats at face value very tough especially for a home opener. Best chance for a bargain is risky. Buy from scalper right at game time. If budget not an issue you can have a fun weekend in Chicago. You might find decent price on ebay if you hunt over the months ahead. Sometime people sell near face for quick sale.
  22. What facts? That a small percentage are very rich and another percentage are very poor? So what. Do we all deserve to be more equal regardless of our effort, education and risk taking? At the office here we have higher income earners and some down at around $12/hour. I recently hired a $12 position. Had 240 applicants from a 2 week online ad. That in itself is a pretty lousy commentary on our economic recovery. During the hiring process I had applicants not return calls, not show up for interviews or display very poor communication skills and preparedness. I'd call some of them "unemployable". We have millions of these people in this country.
  23. That is some funny **** right there.
  24. Aren't the bonuses good news? Now these people can pay the taxes they owe! Problem solved!
