It was a TANK season all along - - get it !!!

If the Bills somehow make the playoffs while at the same time create a lot of cap space and gather a bunch of draft picks, it will be best GM and coaching job done in this franchise since the Polian years. Even 8-8 while positioning for the future is a great job. -
Bills will likely be thin at RB in Sunday
keepthefaith replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Something like that this Sunday wouldn't surprise me. -
It's possible. A couple INT's is all it would take.

Well played

Agree. I hope Nate does great but that remains to be seen over a full game and over several games. I am starting to dislike the approach so many coaches seem to deploy coming in with a system and staying with it even if it isn't the best fit for the players. That always leads to getting new players. Rex would have been smart to continue with the defense that was played the year before he was hired. McD and company should be criticized for not utilizing more of last year's offensive playbook. It takes a long time to turnover the personnel on a team to fit a system and it's risky as new players often don't perform better than those you don't retain. Dennison still has a lot to prove to the fans.

I recall the Bills/Giants strike game in '87. I think it was a 6-3 thriller. Hard to beat that. -

Don’t use “ Garbage time” excuse!
keepthefaith replied to Buffalo Boy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Peterman does look promising and more and more Tyrod looks like a QB who has plateaued and doesn't have all the skills needed to be a long-term starter. The Bills are 5-4 and in the thick of the wildcard playoff race and got there in part on Taylor not turning the ball over and doing just enough offensively with his arm and legs to win those 5 games. Yes the defense has mostly played well this season. I can't see the coaches giving Peterman a start until the Bills are eliminated or if there is an injury. What the coaches don't know yet about Peterman is if he'll turn the ball over (INT's or fumbles) in a full game and lose games that way and eliminate any playoff chance. If that were to happen the coaches would get ripped for putting the veteran on the bench. -
Anyone watch tyrods post game?

Why would a reporter ask that question? The reporter is just needling the player with that. There are far better questions to ask. -

Bob Costas says CTE will destroy the NFL
keepthefaith replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree it is among the greatest of sports and yes viewership is down so what we might see is a continued slow decline in the sport both in viewership and participation. Our local high school (a very large school) had over 100 freshmen each year sign up to play. Some years there were 3 freshman teams. Varsity rosters were near 100 players. This past season under 50 freshman players signed up while the track team and others are growing. Our local town football league folded a couple years ago due to lack of participation. That league had 40+ teams among the various age groups back when my sons were playing plus some travel teams. Helmet technology has lagged in development for years but some good advancements have been made in recent years in terms of reducing weight of helmets and increasing protection. As another poster pointed out though, stopping the brain from impacting the skull may be impossible. In Illinois a class action suit was filed against the state high school football association for head injuries. The case was thrown out but I wouldn't be surprised if other cases around the country are filed. Football has a lot of work to do IMO to get through the headwinds of safety concerns. -
Brandon Beane already top 3 worst GM's in bills history
keepthefaith replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the bills are only $29 million under next year with this roster there is still more work to be done to shed some cost. Some of that is getting Dareus completely off the books. The current roster doesn't have many players that should command big contracts. Beane is doing the right thing IMO in creating space for future free agents or to pay some of the younger players currently on the team that are worthy of bigger contracts in the upcoming years. -
I think it was a horrible choice of words by McNair and horrible timing. The league overall though has done a terrible job of handling this kneel down protest. The league and owners should have gone to the players early on and asked that they respect the flag and anthem on gameday WHILE AT WORK. The league in turn could find a charitable cause to support with donations and with player involvement that addresses the player's concerns. One that actually does positive work. That moves the protest off the field and gives the players a chance to put their money and time where their mouth is on the issue with support from the league.

I see that De Blasio's having a fun day
keepthefaith replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
NYC is hopelessly liberal and if he survives a primary challenge, he runs with the big D next to his name on the ballot. Guaranteed win. In Chicago, no Republican even ran for Mayor in the last election. The Dem primary was a big event and the election was not even a yawn. -

Are the Bills Oppressing Anquan Boldin?
keepthefaith replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure the Bills would welcome him back with open arms if he still wants to play. Working out a trade could take weeks if ever. If the man wants to play football he should return to the Bills. He's only a 3 hour plane ride back to his family from Buffalo and the season has only 2-3 months left. -
Clinton Campaign paid for Bogus Trump Dossier
keepthefaith replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I'd say the firm and producers of the dossier were well paid for their work. Was it $9 million? How many hours does it take to produce fictional information? Pretty good gig. -
Haven't read 29 pages but if Tyrod actually thinks consistently with his statement, the Bills should consider cutting him. Obviously the guy can't self assess his own play vs expectations for someone at his pay grade and his position. He's been a decent quarterback but not one that should command a long term deal at current NFL starter money. Not yet anyway. Give the ball to someone who won't make that excuse, black, white, brown, yellow or purple.

NFL owners are a bunch of pussies. Further evidence of this is how they cave to player agents that take them to the cleaners in negotiating contracts. -

Maybe so but you stated that Trump isn't sending the military. Your statement was wrong. I thought everyone here should know that you made a statement of non-fact.
