  1. I'm certainly not on the Kelsay bandwagon, but did you watch the game last night? There weren't a lot of sacks but there was consistant pressure. The INT by Mc lovin was caused by pressure from Kelsay. That being said I'm ready for an upgrade.
  2. I would love to see him stay on the active roster over Schouman. I have not been impressed with DS. I think Fine has been a better blocker, and as reliable a reciever as well.
  3. All Josh Reed does is turn 3rd and longs into first and 10's! You have a problem with that? I like RP but the man is not reliable. If you want to be involved in the O you have to be consistant. That means running a 10 yard route instead of a 4 yard route, or not running an out when it's supposed to be a hook. If you are not consistantly where you're supposed to be you will not get touches. Now as far as the RP vs JJ talk, Id rather have a TD maker back there than a good ST guy who can be replaced by a number of others.
  4. Exactly! I can't believe all the posters carrying on about it. It's a freakin preseason game, and was Fisher supposed to cry afterward. I wish we had a coach that showed some emotion. Come on folks.
  5. I don't think anyone deserves the credit for Dallas' three superbowl victories under JJ more than the Vikings who were on the losing end of one of if not the most one sided trades in league history. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_did_the_Dal...Herschel_Walker. Sorry I tried to provide a link, but this deal was sick as the cowboys got 5 starters, 3 1st rounders, 2 second rounders a 3rd, and a 6th. The vikes got a ton of potential and very little developement from Walker.
  6. My buddy is a big RP fan and we have had many discussions on why he is not more involved in the O. I think this article may be the answer. I'm not a big King fan but it makes sense.
  7. This began with Laidlaw(now First Student) suing RTS for the right to transport city kids to school. So now thanks to the govt's infinate wisdom the taxpayers are required to cover the cost of bussing school kids over routes that RTS is already running. And this also includes sporting events. I could deal with the 7-10 minutes to camp, but RTS was also required to end its round trip runs to the Ralph. I travel to the games by my self and it was a nice option to take the RTS for $15.00, but there is no way I'm riding a school bus 4 hours round trip. I tried to find an alternate plan but you have to charter an entire bus which means finding people to fill it. I've bit the bullet and gone back to driving myself. I do miss the commaraderie on the bus. I don't think this ruling is state wide though as NFT in Erie county still run buses to and from the game. I may look to pick one up in Clarence this year and cut my drive time down a little.
  8. I agree with you on long snappers. They are under appreciated. Moorman and Lindel had their best seasons when Schneck was the long snapper. He was considered the best in the league at the time. Then the FO decided to save money and released him to let Ryan Neil do the snaps as he could "pretend" to be a DE as well. That experiment has not gone so well as far as I can see. Both BM and RL have had down years since, and RN never see's the field defensively as he is a liability.
  9. I'm not defending DW but if you take a close look at playmaking safeties I think you will see they benefit significantly from a strong rush. Something we haven't had for a loooooong time. It's hard to expect big plays from you secondary when the QB has plenty of time to survey the field.
  10. Had some questions as to whether he actually saw any of the Bills games, as he mentioned Roscoe as a dangerous slot receiver. Don't you actually have to have receptions to be called a threat? Also he has Butler at RG, when everything I have read has him at RT. I think 3-13 is low but unfortunately I not so sure they will repeat the 7-9 of the last 3 years, as this schedule could be a monster. I could see anywhere from 5-11 to 10-6 depending on how things develope. Obviously I'm hoping for 10-6.
  11. I feel the same way. The O was doing "OK" till the KO of TE, then it was a downward spiral. If the O had put more points on the board there would have been more sacks, as teams would have had to pass more to catch up. When the D line can tee off on obvious passing situations they will be more productive. We still would have sorely missed Schobel, but at least our numbers would have been better. And who knows given this scenerio we may have cracked the top 5 in D due to less time on the field. The O spent way to much time on the sideline. I was OK with that during the "no huddle era" but at that time the O was putting points up by the bucket fulls. I would love to see this D work with a high powered O. If you look at the Pats 2 years ago, there were glaring weakness' in their D but teams would get so far behind they would not be able to exploit it. The best Defence is a good offense.
  12. You need to get a grip. After suffering through several 2/12 seasons, 7/9 is not that bad. No one was more irked by the rehiring of Jauron but I have no control of the situation. I buy my seasons and hope for the best. As Marv always said, Where else would you rather be than right here, right now???? I disagree with your assumption that no one in the front office wants to win. I think you and Chicken Little should get together.
  13. Do you really think Keller will start for the Jests? It is Sanchez's job to lose. They didn't spend all that money for him to sit and learn from someone almost as inexperienced as he is.
  14. The first thing i would do is try to figure out why I'm responding to this or any post at 3:30 Saturday AM. Oh! thats right I'm trying to stay awake at work.
  15. What rock have you been living under? Reed is not small. Quite the contrary, infact. He began his career as a running back which is why he blocks so well. If your still not sure ask the DB's he hammers. Those penalties he draws from cheap shots are not because he is a waif.
  16. Not overspending is a classic mode of operation for the Pats. The big difference is they are able to acquire more in trades due to their success. "Players that play for them must be very good for them to be so successful" is the logic of the trading partners. I still wish Crow were on the field on opening day and I don't want RP to go anywhere. That being said as for the rest of the departed, with the exception of PW I can't say I truly miss any of them. Although the jury is out on JP. This one may come back to haunt us for years to come I'm afraid.
  17. It amazes me how many times this chant is repeated. It is a product of the "old NFL" where running is not an option but a necessity. These people obviously never watched Jimbo and the no-huddle fill the air with sucessful passes in their hey day. I will never forget the shoot outs between Kelly and Marino in December and January. Actually the only times it is easier to run would be in high wind condition. If the field is slick the advantage is heavily weighted toward the air game as pass blocking is easier to execute than drive blocking and db's have to give more cushion to avoid slipping on a cut.
  18. Thanks, I was trying to remember the time frame of the scores. Didn't they score 3 times in the 77 seconds? The house was a rockin' and I truly miss those days. That game really did seem to start to turn that team around. After the Raiders game the media started to use the word "destiny" alot. Rich Stadium used to be a place teams hated to come to play much like Arrow head, and not so much for the weather but because of the noise level. I can only imagine what it would be like if this stadium had been designed like Seattles to enclose the noise. We would be deaf by now. Unfortunately the crowd enthusiasm has taken the same path as the Bills. I remember the 2 and 12 seasons that led to the OJ years, and the 0 for 20 against the hated fins and I long for the glory years again. Hopefully a new dawn is arising.
  19. The media continues to rip TO and questions the Bills for the signing. Can anyone here give me a list of probowl wide outs that don't complain they aren't getting the ball enough? When TO was signed a friend, who is a Jets fan, was predicting gloom and doom for the Bills as TO will be a cancer in the locker room. I said to him I will be disappointed if he doesn't ruffle some feathers. DJ needs to be accountable for the lacklustre performances of this team and while I think TE has skills he definately needs some one to light a fire under his Arse. "Mr. check down" is not a good nickname for an NFL QB. Kelly called this team out and rightfully so. They desparately need a wakeup call. I for one am hopeing TO comes in here and stirs the pot. Then maybe we may find we have something brewing that the rest of the league has trouble dealing with. I'll take 10 TD and alittle locker room disention. http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/30929918/ Hope this link works. I'm alittle new at this. Sorry I miss spelled Celizic
  20. I believe Trent gets a new deal one way or the other. If he lights it up he obviously get a new deal. If he struggles he gets a more conservative deal with the Bills biding time with him. If you all recall Brees sucked for three years and the Bolts drafted Rivers, who held out which allowed Brees to "come out" his 4th. Had he not had that horrible shoulder injury to end the season the Bolts would have had a real dilemma on their hands. Three years is not necessarily the rule for QB's. Not saying he is going to be "the guy" but it's to soon to start abandoning ship if he struggles. With that said he does need to show some improvement.
  21. 1. He was a LB that left as a plan B free agent years ago I think. His mother actually played LB on a womens team but I can't recall his name. This doesn't surprise me though as sometime I can't recall my own. 2. I think Marv 4. John Madden 12. "Don't bogart that Joint" Ricky Williams 20. has got to be Jim Mora Sr.
  22. I believe you're right. I was at each of these games but the one in 80 was crazy. I was in the upperdeck on the Bills side and people were jumping up and down so much the concrete was flexing. I thought we might be headed for the lower bowl, so I headed down on my own. I saw Ralph with a sh*t eating grin, waving to fans as they hoisted a section of one of the posts as they passed his box. A truely memorable moment if there ever was one. I know the rivalry seems to be somewhat diminished but I have always said any year we go 2-0 against the fins is a good year. To reach the status of that team of the 90's again would be awsome, but even better to surpass it.
  23. I know of three fans there till the end, because we had champagne on ice and steaks on the grill after the final gun. They were two of my friends telling me they wanted to leave at the half in the "Comeback game". I still don't let them live it down.
  24. I was at the game and hadn't remembered the miss. Also the blocked PAT. But things were going so extraordinarily well who noticed a missed kick. As you pointed out, a little Dejavu in Tampa. This was easily one of the best all time games. Right along with "The Comeback", and breaking the Miami "curse". If they could have only gotten 1 big break in SB 25.........
