My vote goes to Gonzo. He is the real deal, while TS is injury prone and not inclined to block anyone.

This comment reminds me of why Crowell is no longer here. These men followed their instincts and made a big plays. This game is about risk and reward. To make big plays you sometime need to gamble and follow your instincts. Our staff like's to play it safe. Hence close games with heart breaking losses at the end. I would love for them to be bold. Look for players, not for sheep who follow the flock only to be sheared.

McCargo or Jennings?
Original Byrd Man replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could it be the he really had some issues with his back? The FO claims he was cleared to play, even though he didn't. If you were selling a car and the buyer sent it back with an unresolved problem, are you going to claim you knew the problem existed but chose not to disclose it. Or will you say "it's fine, I don't know what you're talking about? Also there were major issues with Kollar and Mc Cargo. I still think he has untapped potential where as Jennings is a part time player. He wouild be a great back to Peters though. I believe the FO should make a decision and either pay Peters the going rate for LT's or trade him. And for all the posters who bash him for holding out, just remember he is following the advice of the agent he hired to represent him. Why would you hire someone to give you advice, then ignore him? And sorry Bill but I supported JP and I'm infavor of resigning the other JP. For all of you bashers of Peters, how would you feel if you signed a contract to supervise the night shift, then they gave you the responsibility of running the whole plant but didn't give you a raise? I'll bet you would all be screaming to everyone that would listen, how you have been shafted. -
Stallworth was slightly over the legal limit
Original Byrd Man replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think I almost remember those days! -
I read a post about JM being in a trade scenario. I just watched a highlight video of 2007. I forgot how many big plays he made that year. Maybe his back was the issue last year, but just didn't complain about it bothering him. I'd love to see If he could play at that level consistantly during camp and pre-season.

I ALMOST wish JP was here for this
Original Byrd Man replied to 300yrds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good post. I agree with your assessment. JP does not fit the dink and dunk O we're running here. In another situation things could have been different, but it's all water over the dam now. -
For or Against...tell me if you are wearing Bills gear
Original Byrd Man replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jimmy Leonard?? are you serious??? The man is slow! Thats why he isn't here any more. Yes he made some plays with the Ravens but with that D who wouldn't. I'm guessing he rarely shows up on the stat sheet with the Jests. Unless it's TO runs past ole Jimmie for another TD. You do have a point about Lynch. He had better clean up his act or addious, but TO has never broken the law. All he does is demand 100% from his teammates and coaches, because thats what he gives every Sunday. Another thing. Who are the Character guys? Thurman had a drinking problem, Kelly was no angel how about Bruce? Didn't he get suspended for drugs??? Oh our memories are so short, or do we have our rose colored glasses on again? I've rooted for this team for 48 years, and I'm all for a little excitement and alot of accountabllity. Go TO and GO BILLS! -
What does she look like???

WGR just said: This whole thing is DJ's idea???
Original Byrd Man replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't believe DJ is stupid. on the contrary. You don't go to an Ivy League school if you aren't pretty sharp. That being said, Intelligence and coaching ability in times of crisis don't necessarrily go hand in hand. DJ would be better served to let his Assistants do the sideline work and just to tend to the gameday prep earlier in the week. If he was bright enough to realize the value of TO to his job security maybe he will also drop the reins on gameday. -
Committment to winning or selling tickets?
Original Byrd Man replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It addresses both issues at once. A truely bold move in the face of the nations negative opinion on TO. I'm all for it. We haven't had a WR combo of this magnitude in a LOOOOOOOOng time. Kudo's to the FO for a change. Maybe we will stop hearing all this crap about not having a real GM. -
Well I guess I'm a sucker. Beacuse as much as I bitched last year, and said in a letter I sent to Brandon and Wilson that I would not renew if they renewed DJ, I had actually renewed the day before this deal came down. I've supported this team win or lose for 48 years, and I guess I'm not about to change. Hello TO. Welcome to Buffalo and GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!

i am looking forward to t.o. calling guys out
Original Byrd Man replied to jester43's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I totally agree. This team has needed a can of Wupass opened on it for some time. Players and coaches alike. TO plays this game with a passion for winning and can not stand "settling for a good effort in a loss"!!!! He may cause a few peoblems in the locker room but teams he has been on have been winners, and those same teams have taken a nose dive with out him. Bring it on!!! -
a couple posters have suggested franchising TO. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I think at the end of this year the CBA ends and there will be no tags or caps. It will be an open salary league.
-
I've never been a big fan of either of them. I think they are both over rated. So maybe TO was right. He will definately make things interesting and what have we got to lose???? Another 7-9 season and another year out of the play offs.
-
I totally agree. It would be great if Hardy can come in and contribute but that i s very unlikely. Johnson shows some promise but he to is inexperienced. I think we will be in good shape for the future but we need a stop gap for now.
-
Leonard brings nothing we need, which is why we let him go. We have RP and LM for returns and he only looked decent in a star studded D with Baltimore. The man has great intelligence, and football awareness but he is slow. With the rush we generate he will be not nearly as effective.

Stop complaining and cancel your tickets
Original Byrd Man replied to VJ91's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
About three weeks ago I sent my ticket for the Pats game to Brandon with a letter stating that this was a show of Non- support for Jauron. Today I will send him another letter asking him to cease all contact with me pretaining to the Buffalo Bills organization. I want no mail, no phone calls. If they do send me a renewel letter I will mark it return to sender, and drop it back in the mail box. But one person will make little difference. I read about protests by boycott, or walk out and saw little to no evidance of it at the game sunday. Just a lot of talk and that is what Old ralphie boy is banking on. The only thing he cares about is the bottom line. How about a show of force from the multitude. Talk is cheap and makes you feel good for the moment but actions are long lasting. I'm calling on everyone to take one for the team. -
Unfortunately for RW his greatness occurred at a time when HOF voters were babies. They only see the clown we see today.

Consider for a moment this tactical move by RW
Original Byrd Man replied to GG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The man has had 9 years and hasn't learned anything yet. He has to be the most clueless Ivy leaguer in history. -
The bottom line is the only thing that matters to old ralph. Well I for one am through donating to the cause. I can take my wife ona nice vacation every year with the money I will be saving. And to you clowns that want to buy my seasons tickets, all I can say is why haven't you bought any of the thousands that have been available every year?????? Get real.
-
Hey Ralph wanted to be a part owner of the Lions, so I guess this is his attempt to bring the lions to Buffalo. Well done ralph. This is indeed money well spent. Senility is such a heartbreaking disorder. My sympathy goes out to his wife Mary. And to his family.

What burns me is that Parcells got Fasano and a LB that has started the whole season for a freaking 4th. We paid way to much for Royal.
