Foster is a hitter and brings an attitiude the team lacks. I would be thrilled with Foster at #10.

I see two things improving. Tackling and fewer penalties. McDermott can only improve those areas.

If the guys they added (Hyde, Poyer) and the guys they will add are even average tacklers, the defense will be much improved. Gilmore, Blanton, Roby and Corey Graham were terrible run defenders last year. Throw in the injured A. Williams and Zach Brown who overran every play the second part of the season and the group could only improve. The nightmare of Jay Ajaya looking like Jim Brown and Leveon Bell walking into the endzone cannot be repeated.

Too bad they should have gone. It worked out pretty well for Jimbo Fisher. Interesting, the guy who replaced Saban at MSU is now on his Alabama staff, Bobby Williams. And Brian Dabol from the the same MSU staff just signed on to be the new Offensive Cordinator at Alabama. There is a story when he accepted the job @ LSU, he sent a plane from Baton Rouge back to E Lansing, telling his assistants they all had jobs and to get on the plane when it touched down. The plane came back empty. Not one assistant wanted to follow the great Nick Saban down to LSU. That speaks volumes about what kind of tyrant Nick Saban is.

I think with better coaching on an offense that features a balanced attack, Kizer would be a great add. He played against a schedule that featured 14 bowl teams in 2 years and put up good numbers. He can make all the throws. DeShone Kizer - Notre Dame Notes (time correlates to comment): (first 3 plays) ball comes out quickly and with good zip (0:50) (4:49) will rush his delivery at times, causing the ball to come out low (1:13) great job scanning the field and coming back to early read (3:00) climbs to safety and calmly sets his feet prior to the throw (3:30) poor ball placement on back-to-back end zone throws (4:03) big-time throw on the dig route-puts the ball in the only place the WR can get it (5:30) money on the slant; great ball placement (8:27) it’s 4th and inches…if your QB can’t take a snap under center, that’s a problem. (8:40) lack of deep shots has the defense creeping up; Kizer isn’t backing them off at all Summary: I’ve seen folks like Daniel Jeremiah, who I really respect, rate Kizer as their #1 QB. I’m not there. He does some critical things really well: his timing passes are excellent, his ability to scan the field is solid, and he’s got good power in his throws. There are also some real red flags for me in that he can’t seem to take a snap from under center, and his accuracy seems to drop precipitously beyond 20 yards. Moreover, I don’t like that he seems to go long stretches without challenging the deep secondary, and he also doesn’t appear to work the boundary down the field. Right now, he’s a R2 guy for me, but I think there will be a team that drools over his measurables enough to take him much higher than that.

I liked this scout's view of Kizer: Against Duke, Kizer was 7 for 11 in throws 15 yards or more downfield and outside the hashmarks, with one of them being a touchdown, one dropped, and only one being a really poor decision. Those throws, one of the most indicative “NFL throws” a college passer can make, are at a level that rivals Jameis Winston and Andrew Luck in terms of his placement, anticipation and confidence. I counted five times Kizer made a true second and third read that wasn’t entirely predetermined, something most college quarterbacks never do throughout a game, nonetheless feel confident in doing in a tight matchup. His vertical throws, as in the one below, are still remarkably well-placed and thrown with generally great footwork and body positioning, except for his game-losing interception that was an inexcusable lapse in judgment. KIZER ARM STRENGTH - Kizer appeared to have the strongest arm out of all the prospects. I don't see any limitations with him not being able to reach different parts of the field ACCURACY - This is the one area where he is a bit hit and miss. Most of the time he throws with good anticipation and puts the ball in a favorable spot for his WR to have YAC. There are however periods of time when his accuracy dips POCKET PRESENCE - Kizer has a very calm presence in the pocket. His body type and demeanor remind me of Warren Moon/ Dak Prescott. For me this is the trait that stands out for him the most compared to the other prospects QUICK GAME - Kizer does an adequate job of executing the quick/short timing game. This is not his strong suit. DRIVES BALL - Kizer has very good balance and does an excellent job of driving the ball with velocity to all parts of the field DEEP MIDDLE - I saw several examples of Kizer displaying nice touch and velocity on deep middle routes DEEP SIDELINE - Kizer's deep sideline ball is not as nice as his middle field deep throws.. he lacks a little touch. Nevertheless.. I saw him hit a few showing he's capable of executing that throw. FOOTWORK - From what I saw Kizer had little to no reps from under center. With that being said.. his footwork/timing for a shotgun qb (which can be tricky) was the calmest.. most synched compared to the other prospects AGGRESSIVENESS - Kizer is not afraid to take shots and fit balls into tight windows. MOBILITY - Kizer has very good mobility for a guy his size and there were many examples of him escaping the pocket to pick up first downs. His in-pocket mobility is also the most developed IMO. TOUGHNESS - Kizer took some big hits .. and also dished out a few himself. Not afraid to launch his body at defenders. RED ZONE - Kizer was effective/efficient in the red zone games I watched DECISION MAKING - Kizer appeared to be decisive in executing his reads.. and the chances he took fitting balls into tight windows appeared reasonable for the most part. GRADE - RD 1 CEILING - HIGH

One of my favorites was dicking around with 2 kickers. Apparently, every 2 weeks it was important to have a kick off specialist. Unfortunately, Miami was one of the off weeks.

We learned that tackling is still horrible. Very concerned watching Shaq Lawson, very slow off the ball and does not set edge. He has to improve in the offseason.

Belecheck dumps good players before their due for big money and gets a return. Analytics in action. Buffalo lets player go at end of contract and has to draft to replace player see Gilmore.

Good teams can tackle. Buffalo cannot tackle. Next DC better revisit that concept. That has nothing to do with schemes, fronts, responsibilities. Too many terrible tacklers or unwilling tacklers to call this team good.

I have been very impressed with #72 at center. He has really been effective. Kuanjo can play LT pretty well. I think an upgrade at RT makes a huge difference with pressure and blown up plays.

TV is more likely. He can sit back and spend Terry's cash for a while.

I am not sure any coach could win big with EJ or Tyrod leading the charge. The people who think these two are any good should be accountable. When we had a good QB in Jim Kelly, the team advanced pretty far. Get a real QB and no one cares about Rex's stupid comments or what Russ or Whales are doing at the Buffalo Club.

Imagine the atmosphere if 0-16 Cleveland wins, toxic would be an understatement.

Reed83HOF hit the nail on the head. This is not some management trainee program, how about bringing in an established winner. Also, if you go back to when Dougie left, there was a lot of talk about the old guard trying to undermine him etc. It is just all of this baggage, true or not, that causes many fans to say he has to go. Right, wrong or indifferent he is perceived by many as the face of this mess....

Coughlin is a Hall of Fame coach who is a winner known as a workaholic. Compare that to having a guy in charge that played baseball at St. John Fisher and spends his time rubbing elbows with the blue bloods at the Buffalo Club and Oak Hill. Bring in Coughlin in any role he wants.

I think the football czar position would have been the one to weed out Brandon and his cronies. I would look at Coughlin or Shanahan to oversee the football side of it.

The Bills play like a finesse team not a bully at all.

Today was one of the few times I saw Terry at a game without Brandon steps away. Get some one in here who has won in the league before. I think they could do a lot worse than Tom Coughlin.
