No consideration is given to the benefit of sitting for a few years behind a starter (Brady, Rogers), whether or not the QB has previous professional experience (Kelly, Theismann, Moon). Those are two HUGE differences between quarterbacks, and barely mentioning those things in a study like this renders it unusable and irrelevant. Of course, confirmation bias for some people is a strong thing.

We knew Fitz' ceiling, and it was pretty low. Without a doubt, we know that Fitz was as good as he was going to get. Your body starts to change when you are 35 or so. You don't recover from injury (or a game where you are knocked around) as fast, your hangovers are worse, and your reflexes slow down. It doesn't happen overnight, but it happens. I say he has 2 years left, max.

It might be a good idea to give a QB the benefit of the doubt until they have a few seasons under their belt. I know trying to get some people to understand QB development is like slamming your head against the wall, but I find it so silly that people are already planning for EJ's demise and he hasn't even played 16 games yet. I used to feel the way you did, until I had a conversation with a native American. The way he described it changed my mind. They consider it to be the same as having a team called the "n-words", the kikes, or whatever. The "redskin" name makes them feel like they are being made to be inferior to others, which isn't the case. So my question is this: Do you want to make a population of good Americans feel inferior or insulted, or do you want to simply change the name of a team in a silly game? Everyone should realize ej was clearly a guy taken for his upside, so it is natural that there are still question marks. I don't think they intended him to start last year, but a concussion ended that. They also made a huge mistake by not having a dedicated qb coach for him. Not a good move for a rookie. All that said, I don't see how anyone can be sold on ej yet, but I'm optimistic he can develop. I have no patience for those who have no patience for a rookie qb with 10 games under his belt. Hopefully this year we start to see the upside.

Every time I hear maybin's name, I think of Dickie Jauron lobbying to draft him in the Bills' war room. Ugh.
