No consideration is given to the benefit of sitting for a few years behind a starter (Brady, Rogers), whether or not the QB has previous professional experience (Kelly, Theismann, Moon). Those are two HUGE differences between quarterbacks, and barely mentioning those things in a study like this renders it unusable and irrelevant. Of course, confirmation bias for some people is a strong thing.

We knew Fitz' ceiling, and it was pretty low. Without a doubt, we know that Fitz was as good as he was going to get. We don't know Manuel's ceiling (although after 10 games many a goofball are ready to call him a bust), and there's still thought that he will get better. Maybe even much better. Based on what I've read today, keeping the Bills in Buffalo is a big consideration regarding who wins the bid. That would be a deterrent for many bidders, because of the thought of earning more money in a different city.

Your body starts to change when you are 35 or so. You don't recover from injury (or a game where you are knocked around) as fast, your hangovers are worse, and your reflexes slow down. It doesn't happen overnight, but it happens. I say he has 2 years left, max.

Our entire defensive line is one of the best in the NFL. Gotta take advantage of that. Overall, our defense has the potential to be disgustingly good. We've got the talent, it now depends on coaching.
