  1. This would be a problem if it was another countries "Dream Team" dominating the US, but right now, its a guaranteed gold medal for the US as theres no other country that can compete with them and give them a run. They have talked about removing womens hockey fromt eh winter games because the Canadians and US teams dominate everyone else and its not close, so why isn't there talk of removing mens basketball from the games? Atleast with mens hockey, theres more then 2 dominant teams and theres a chance for upsets One of the issues you could run into with the team sports being allowed to use Pros to make their teams is at what level (or what leagues) will be considered pro? Using hockey as an example, the NHL is obviously pro, so the KHL would need to also be considered the same, but would you classify something like the AHL or ECHL or one fo the other "minor leagues" as pro?
  2. There you go, you understand No one is declaring the Bills as SB contenders, the most I have seen is that with the moves made this offseason, the Bills fans (along with the team and front office) are all expecting playoffs, with anything less being a disapointment. And no one in Buffalo was planning a Parade for the Sabres after the last offseason You could take any team in the league and look at the roster and come up with a similar list of areas of weakness for that team. No team is perfect, and all teams have flaws or areas that could use upgrades. You will never have a team that has no question marks at a few spots, or a couple areas that need improvements. If you can't sit back and just enjoy the season with hope and optimisum at the start of the year, then you should really just give up on watching the sport and go find something in life to enjoy. Its only a game, and if you can't enjoy even the bad times with your team, you need to realise that theres more to life out there
  3. Don't waste your time trying to reason with them, it doesn't work Apparently it would be much better using the #3 spot to have a scrub (developmental) QB such as Gibran Hamdan, Shane Matthews or Levi Brown to get the clipboard holding QB his water and a towel, instead of taking advantage of a rule that would allow them to have the option to run a wildcat offence with a guy who can backup 3 different positions. Apparently his $4mil a season contract is going to prevent them from being able to re-sign Byrd and Levitre too, and the wildcat can be run effectively with just anyone. So basically what rex said, was that Tebow, his #2 QB (competing with the #1 QB in the eyes of the fans and media) can throw slightly better then the 3rd string "wildcat" QB the Bills have. I don't know if I would view that as much of an insult to Brad Smith as I would view it as an insult to Tebow.
  4. I think it has more to do with VY having one of the lowest Wonderlic scores ever at the combine, but I guess its easier to just say that its because of the colour of his skin as to why people think he isn't smart
  5. Those pics didn't help much.....
  6. Hot for Australian Swimmer? http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/olympics-fourth-place-medal/public-pushes-back-against-fat-comments-aussie-swimmer-191640600--oly.html
  7. I don't get this So you dropped her car off earlier in the day, for her so she could drive it to work and the front bumper is scratched and needs to be fixed so you are wondering how to fix it. Its pretty easy what to do, when she comes home, greet her by the car and ask her what happened to the front bumper, Why is it scratched? Then blame it on the airport and say that it must have been from someone hitting it in the lot. She thinks that someone bumped into and scratched her car, you don't look like a woman driver hitting curbs in a parking lot
  8. Funny, when Whitner did it he was run out of town by Bills fans and was called a bunch of unpleasant things for saying it..............
  9. I don't think Brady will need to worry about making the choice between missing the SB for his childs birth. I'm sure when the Bills 'D' is done with him he will be able to enjoy watching the birth from the hospital bed next to hers in a full body cast.....
  10. I doubt it, but he may be "feeling" her now! Well, if the gay thing is true, maybe not.......
  11. SCTV was more Sketch comedy then sitcom. Red Green (the master of Duct Tape) was closer to being a sitcom although its still in that grey area I would think. It was a show about a show being broadcast from "Possum Lodge" about the members of a lodge in a small Northern Ontario town. The guy who played his nephew Harold (with his "Keytar" type device to run the show)has been in a bunch of other shows and is a pretty good serious actor As for whats a sitcom, and whats not, Basically a Sitcom is a television show (typically a comedy with a 30 minute run time) involving the same cast of characters in a storyline for the full run time of the show. The episode involves the characters being dealing with the same situation or teh cast divided up dealing with seperate situations for the full run time. It takes place using the same sets and locations for the majority of the episode and usually the show has a theme to it. The show can be live action or even an "adult" cartoon. The Sitcom seems to be a dying genre these days, with the peak probably being in the 80's and 90's. I will agree with teh person who mentioned "3rd Rock from the Sun", I thought it was a good sitcom and anything with John Lithgow usually ends up being good. Another thread that could spin off of this thread would be your favorite Sitcom Theme song.....
  12. Well obviously, now that he is a Yankee of course he is
  13. Am I Palestinian? Besides being a fan or a former graduate, was the guy part of OSU or was he just a fan? If OSU is just the school he graduated from or something he was a fan of, then its your choice on what you want to wear. Your there to honor the deceased in whatever way you feel is appropriate. If soome people want to honor him by wearing his favorite teams tie, then thats their way. Besides the joy that other fans may get out of seeing the other guy wear a hated rival teams apparel, what will wearing the tie do for the deceased?
  14. First off, The reason why not just let VY run the WC options is because he can't. If he is kept over Thigpen, he's the #2 QB and he can't come in for just 1-2 plays. If he is put in, that means Fitz is taken out of the game and Young is the QB. The new #3 QB/Wildcat QB rule put in last year allows the #3 QB to come in and replace the starter and not require that the starter be removed from the game. Another reason why he will be kept and his job is safe, he is versatile and can play multiple positions. He may not be the best player at each position, but thats not what they need from him. If he was great at one of them, he would be starting at that position. He is an emergency backup QB (he won't be more then the #3 QB, if young or Fitz goes down, they will bring in a replacement for them), he can return kicks if needed, and can fill in at WR if they get hit with injuries again. Having a guy that can fill 3 emergency spots is much better then having a backup who can only fill 1-2 spots He may not be as good an athlete as Tebow, but he gives the Bills the same type of player as Tebow and can run similar type of offensive plays. The point that was made about Tebow was that the Jets missed having a player like Smith in their offence and because of that, they felt the need to go out and get Tebow. As for Smiths contract keeping the Bills from being able to re-sign Levitre and Byrd, don't be a moron, His contract will have nothing to do with them getting re-signed. If it did, the Bills are in so much more trouble then any of us could ever imagine.
  15. I wonder if they have a deal for all the players gloves on the field to be made by isotoner? I think thats the other, other Florida team, Jacksonvilles next uniform change.............. thats what I first thought when they mentioned the M for the logo, they would be trying to copy what the Marlins have
  16. The Lease will have a clause in the deal that will require a substantial fee be paid in order to break the lease should a new owner come in and decide to move them. The fee would probably cover the majority of the renovation costs prorated to the amount of time left on the lease (so if they spent $200 mil and the lease is signed for 10 years, the out clause after year 2 might be 80% of the $200 mil). They can't force Ralph to sell the team or have someone else come in and negotiate the lease as the "future next owner" if Ralph doesn't sell them before hand or secretly have someone lined up already. Its his team, and it will be until he decides to sell or dies. (You guys really like to tell others what they should/shouldn't do with their money and property, but I can guarantee you would kick and scream if someone told you how to spend or what to do with your stuff) As for Toronto and the fans there, They support their own teams just fine win or lose. When was the last time a pro sports team left Toronto? The Leafs play to a packed arena win or lose. The Raptors play a sport thats not as popular in Canada and just last year were in the middle of the pact for attendance (17th averaging just under 17k a game) and they have made the playoffs a hand full of times in their existence. The Jays haven't been to the playoffs since winning the '93 world series and have been an average (.500) team most of that time. They average a little over 20-22k a game most nights in another sport more popular in the US. Their MLS soccer team has a good following despite being horrible also. The problem with the attendance at the Bills toronto series has been ticket prices. The Bills haven't put a good product on the field at the Rogers Centre and yet they were trying to charge ticket prices comparable to the top market teams in the league. People in Toronto can be fickle about supporting someone elses stuff. Toronto views itself as the centre of Canada and they support whats theirs. The ticket sales and attendance numbers wouldn't be any worse then what you see at RWS if they were moved and put into a football stadium in Toronto. As for the issues with the border, suck it up, us Southern Ontario fans had to do it to continue to help support the team in Buffalo...... its done all the time They can't go and force Ralph to sell or find the "future next owner" of the team now because they are afraid to negotiate a lease in case soemone comes in and wants to move them. They have 3 choices, continue to operate with the team using the stadium without a lease, sign one year leases with Ralph for the team to continue to play there, or negotiate a long term lease with a substantial penalty clause for breaking the lease early that a new owner would be responsible for covering the reno costs. Only the last one has any type of possible assurance that the team would stay in Buffalo for the immediate future, the first 2 only protect the county from spending money and possibly losing money by renovating a stadium they could be stuck with without a tenant
  17. Nope, just becomes Vintage/Retro/"throwback" My favorite comment has to be the one about just throwing Dan marinos face on teh side of the helmet because they haven't been relevent since he retired (although the same could be said about the Bills and Kelly). Imagine a Bills/Dolphins game then, both teams wearing kelly and marino on their helmets....
  18. Why not? If I can learn to be an airline mechanic online...............
  19. But only if the Chubb is because of her, and not one (or all) of the bridesmaids or one of her family members............. That can lead to more trouble and explaining, but its much better then if its because of one of your family memebrs .....
  20. I think thats one of the problems today, we teach kids that all you have to do is go to school, get good grades, pick a field to go to post secondary education in, graduate and you will be working in your field. (Not saying this about the OP, just in general) Lts of kids these days either pick the flashy, popular field, or something that would be more of a hobby (15th century Russian Womans Literature) and expect they will be in their dream job once they are out. Many then find that they chose a career field that everyone else did and the job market is flooded with people just like you, or they find out that their degree is barely worth the piece of paper its written on because there are few careers your degree will help you with. In todays economy, its tough to just have a job, let alone a good one in your career field. The best advice today is to take whatever work you can get to get through the day to day expenses while always keeping an eye and ear open searching for something in your field when it becomes available. Be willing to start at the bottom and work your way up, getting your foot in the door is better then not being in at all. Don't be too concerned about getting your ideal wage if its a job in your career field and what you want to do. While searching to get into your field, keep yourself up to date by either trying to get small temporary jobs in your field or continuing to take classes if you can. More education or experience isn't going to hurt. But most of all, you just finished school, welcome to the real world now. Theres thousands of people just like you, finishing school and millions of people already done school that are looking for work too. Its not easy getting a work today, and don't expect to start at the top.
  21. Well, If made in America, its only going to cost them about $30 total and then they would write articles about how they couldn't make them cheaper and look at how much is spent just to dress the athletes for an opening ceremonies...... Problem these days is that everyone wants stuff cheap, they don't want to pay lots for it. But they also want to make more money. No one wants to do the sweaty factory labour jobs. Companies find places where people will gladly do those jobs, and take very little pay, so they can bring the product over to sell it here at an affordable price people will pay
  22. Wrong, someone early on recommended photos of her in only a Bills jersey for a grooms gift, and to post them here first to see if they are "appropriate" I'm in the same boat as you, except in November. I wanted to just go to city hall and do it, but she wanted something where she can wear a nice white dress. Unfortunatly she picks the week after the Bills Bye Week and won't accept Houston Texas as a honeymoon location to see the Bills/Texans game. As for Ben Folds as a song, I'm thinking "Song for the Dumped" might not be a good choice?
  23. Who f*in cares if the Bills are winning or losing, that doesn't matter for if the guy is a celebrity or not for the Triple A Allstar game. The guy is a local celebrity in Buffalo because he is the CEO of the team, and most people know he is part of the Bills front office. Aparently the guy was chosen because he is a local celebrity and has previous baseball experience.
  24. I think its kind of insulting to the woman. "Hey, your husband of 30 years just died a few weeks ago? Why don't you come down to see me get married, that won't bring up any painful memories of your husband!" Its a nice PR move, gonna bring some good press to you and lots of people will go on about how sweet and nice he is for doing it, I just think that the last thing you want after your spouse of decades passes away is to go see another couple go get married
  25. Well it is a drunken Redneck concert so this doesn't shock me much I was a little more shocked at the public urination the time I saw DMB with Lawn Seats. Then when I thought about it, it wasn't much of a surprise cause most of the crowd is stoner frat boys or hippies
