Former Ravens owner Art Modell has passed away.
apuszczalowski replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like Ralph, his work/accomplishments in the early days of the NFL helped make it what it is today. H was a big part of the early TV deals for the league -
I wouldn't use last nights game as much of a measuring stick for the Bills defence or the Giants The Cowboys were getting surprise production from tehir #3 WR who was left being covered by the Giants #5 CB (And CB has not been a strong spot of the Giants defence in a while, I seem to remember people wanting to trade some of our CB depth to them to help them out earlier). The real issue in that game (It was only a TD difference) was a TD being saved by a horsecollar tackle (It was a great penalty to take in that situation because you save a TD, and the worst that happens is they move up a few yards closer to teh endzone), and the NY offence not being able to get many points on the board against teh Cowboys defence.

Just because 18 has been determined as the age "Adulthood" Starts, it doesn't mean that the person is truly ready to be an adult, or that they reach an epiphany in life and become Adults. Its just an age that was determined to be the age of being considered an adult. The age of concent is lower then 18 in many places. If you have ever seen or met a 15 year old and an 18 year old today, I wouldn't say that either is really that much more responsible or more of an adult then the other. The only difference is that the 18 year old usually has been given more freedoms to do stupider things because of his age, and has access to more then what we give a 15 year old....... And just because the kid is 15, it doesn't mean that he is going to grow up thinking its ok for him to go after 15 year olds when he is older........ -
Sanchez: "Tebow sells seats"
apuszczalowski replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Was it really necessary to insult Garth Brooks and Ringo Starr like that? But what Sanchez said is pretty much true, he sells Merchandise (not just seats), although there was an article I read about a month ago that talked about how that merchandise isn't to Jets fans, its merchandise to Tebow Fans. Basically saying that Tebow Fans aren't necessarily Jets fans, and Jets fans aren't necessarily Tebow fans. Tebow fans don't care what team he is on, they follow him to where ever he plays -
Remember, its him AND Fitz. I'm less shocked its him, and more shocked about Fitz. Obviously it will have something to do with the NFL, or a Patriots/Bills rivalry thing since the show is based in Mass. and has had Brady and multiple Patriots themed stuff on it. I was thinking this morning after hearing it yesterday that they have done multiple Patriots episodes and themes, even some stuff with the Red Sox, But I can't recall anything with the Bruins or Celtics..... yes he is, Show also takes place in a fictional Mass. Town and has had multiple references to Brady and the Patriots. Doubt its much of a rip if both Fitz and Mario agreed to do the voice over work to it

Lol at Bills fans for saying how horrible Cleveland fans are for not shedding a tear over Modells death. People have said worst things around here about Ralph and he is still alive, there are people here who can't wait for Ralph to die so the new owner can ride in on his white stallion to save the City of buffalo and bring them championship after Championship. Ralph should have a 1000x more respect then Modell, but that doesn't stop his haters because he hasn't guaranteed that the team will remain in Buffalo forever, just until he dies -
Will we finally get to see CJ......

Maybe thats why he hasn't seen teh field much, the coaching staff was teaching him to hit home runs instead of the teams offence -

Corrected it for you. Do you really think a 18 year old male is that much more emotionally secure (or mature) then a 15 year old? And its true, society views these situations differently between boys and girls. The 15 year old boy would be viewed as a 'Hero' amongst his friends, and most guys are doing what some here are currently doing, looking at the photo of the teacher to determine if "we would" Switch it around and make it a 15 year old girl with a 33 year old male teacher and we look at the teacher as a sex offender who is disgraceful and should be locked away for years, and the girl is typically shunned and viewed as a slut for being a part of it. -
Sorry, the last part was about him coming in to replace Smith as a #3. As a #2 I don't see any problems with him to replace Thigpen or jackson except that he would have to learn the play book quickly
-
I would take him as a #2 maybe, but what good is it going to be to have him sit on the sidelines every week holding a clip board?

He did nothing last season (or during preseason games this year where you could argue that hardly anyone did anything above average) above average on the football field. It seems very few can look past last season, his first on a new team with little offseason to work with the coaches and although he wasn't starter caliber at any position last year, he was good enough as a fill-in/reserve player when needed. The facts are, the coaching staff likes him and his versatility is something that is valuable to this team as it may allow them to keep another specialty player on the roster cause they won't have to worry about having an emergency reserve at another spot. The coaching staff wants to have a WildCat option to run on offence, and they feel that he is the best choice to run it, although read here and listen to the all knowing source of knowledge that is WGR, and you will find out that anyone that can run can effectively run a successful wildcat offence The caoches have said they were limited in what they could run from teh wildcat last year due to Smith not getting a full offseason with the team and them not having a full offseason to implement it, and this year they plan on using it more. Young developmental players are what the Practice Squad is for, unless they are going to be used more then what a typical 6th string WR, 3rd string QB, or Special teamer will be used. All the arguements on the radio this morning and the reason to cut Smith is because of the idea of carrying too many QBs on the roster with none of them being all that great, but thats hardly a reason to cut Smith. Is keeping Thigpen as a 3rd stringer really so much better then Smith? Do you expect that Fitz will get injured and have to come out of the first game and the season will be lost because TJ isn't up to speed on the offence in game 1? If so, theres a much bigger problem here then keeping Smith as the 3rd string Wildcat QB. If your afraid to let Thigpen go because TJ doesn't know the offence well enough yet, and your worried Fitz may get injured in week 1, you should have resolved your backup QB issue prior to training camp, rather then after week 3. If your keeping a roster spot for Thigpen because your worried that in a game, you could end up having to go to your #3 QB and he might give you a better chance to still come out with a win, you have more problems then you know. The #3 QB spot is considered the "Emergency QB" spot for a reason, you only get down to using them in an emergency to get you through teh rest of the game, its why in the past, most teams had a late round developmental guy whom they wanted to keep on the roster in that spot. If the Bilsl get down in a game to having to rely on Smith to be the #1 QB, the game is already out of hand and your just trying to finish the game without losing anyone else. If Fitz or the #2 go down in a game, the Bills will pick up someone off the street to fill the role, Smith won't become the backup. How many teams have kept around a guy in the #3 spot just in case they lose the 2 guys in front of them?

maybe they could bring him in to run the WildCat instead of Brad Smith? -
I think that has always been clear to everyone, seeing as how he has never been asked to play QB in his career and be on the opposite side of the LOS trying to intercept other QBs Maybe it would have been better to let McGee go and kept Florence around for the veteran experience?

I guess I shouldn't have assumed you were so much older then you really arePre-pubecent at age 16? Might want to go to the doctors to get checked out, we may have found out the reason for your tantrum/moodswing...... No, YOU Don't.Suiting up a guy who can play 3-4 positions in an emergency or for a handfull of plays during a game (even with teh HC saying he plans on running the WC more often this year) is a waste, yet keeping a backup at some other position, who may only be able to play 1, maybe 2 positions and only get into a game in an emergency isn't a waste? They renegotiated T Jacksons deal because if things go as planned, he should see even less then 5 plays a game, witht eh hope being 0 plays a game unless Fitz is hurt. If Jackson was able to come in and do other things besides play Qb, they may feel he and his position would be worth the $4mil a season. Brad Smiths 5 plays a game is 5 plays more then what Jackson is expected to play unless theres an emergency -
Vince Young Cut By Buffalo Bills
apuszczalowski replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Only other reason why Thigpen hasn't been cut, the Bills front Office knows the fan base really well and knows the message boards will implode if they got rid of 2 QB's in one day, even though its exactly what fans have wanted all along, until it happens, then its the worst move in History -
If it was between a healthy Roscoe or whats left of TO, I would take the Healthy Roscoe maybe the Chargers did this to go after TO?

Vince Young Cut By Buffalo Bills
apuszczalowski replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Young gets cut cause he wasn't working out and there was talk he was having trouble learning the playbook. The Bills gave him a chance to maybe catch on to another team now. Thigpen is held onto for now because he knows the offence and playbook, and has experience running Chans offence. If by chance something happens to Jackson before the final cuts, or he flat out bombs, they have the aren't completly screwed and have Thigpen still around as an emergency. They will still need an extra body to play the 4th PS game, chances are Fitz gets a drive or 2, then Jackson will get thrown in to learn on the job, and then Thigpen can mop up. Its either that or VY and Jackson in their minds bring the same style of play to the team and they are still making a final decision on what they want as a #2 QB -
Tavaris Jackson deal completed
apuszczalowski replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course, cut a guy who has played WR, QB and can return kicks and has been learning the coaches "Wildcat" offence, In order to keep someone who plays WR and may be able to return kicks if needed. Thats the way a smart GM does things! So the complaint is that Smith can't throw, making the Wildcat One dimensional because everyone knows its going to be a run all the time, and replace him with a RB that can't throw any better? -

"Yeah, but you don't realise that Brad Smith SUCKS!" **In my best Chris Grifin voice**NAy idiot can just come in and run the Wildcat (well except for Smith of course cause he Sucks). Freddy can do it, Vince Young can do it, Thigpen can do it, Spiller can do it, A developmental QB drafted in the 7th or Undrafted can do it. I hear JP Losman and Trent Edwards can do it too! The Wildcat is only a gimmick and should never be used cause every defence can stop it and it never works! Its much wiser to take advantage of a rule and keep a 7th round "Levi Brown/Brian Brohm" on the roster to keep the backup QB hydrated and well rested not having to hold a clip board then keep Brad Smith and his albatross $4mil contract on the roster, since the Bills are so close to the cap and will now have to cut good players to get under the cap -
“She said ‘I want to have fun with my wedding dress. I want to have great pictures and memories of me in my wedding dress.’” You would think that they would have taken some great photos and she would have had great memories of her in her wedding dress at her wedding........... Guess you have to be trendy though and the latest trend is to get photographed later on trashing a dress you spent a fortune on for one day
