Bills to acquire Tarvaris Jackson
apuszczalowski replied to VIVA BUFFALO CABRONES!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally, I would have prefered to see them try and get McCoy first from the Browns, but I'm not disapointed seeing them going after jackson for a late draft pick (plus the holding point right now is trying to renegotiate his deal to get it lower then the $4mil owed. But what do I know, I just watch the games on tv and re articles and watch highlights. I would have liked to have seen them give T. Smith (the former Ravens QB and Heisman winner) a shot too before As for the complaints about not drafting someone or not finding anyone better this offseason or last year, The brought in Thigpen because he had previous experience running Chans offence and the hope was, with a shortened offseason, that he could pick up where they left off in KC and be able to step in with experience in Chans system. That seems to have not worked out, so this offseason the plan was to make him compete for the job and they brought in a former #3 overall pick with all the athletic ability to succeed. It appears that he is not a fit for this offence and has struggled with running it, so now, instead of trying to make do with either of the failed experiments, they make a deal to bring in someone the coach has liked and has been decent in his experiences as a starter in the league. -
Captain Hindsight costs police chief his job!
apuszczalowski replied to section122's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Those same people also use the benefit of Hindsight to make their judgements on how the authorities could have done something or more to prevent it. And they are also the ones who scream about how they overreact to nothing and its all hype to allow them to get more control over us. Just look at the other thread here about the officer that was let go over the drunk woman. A poster here was going on about security and the cops asking to look in his bag before entering a concert and he refused and left but the cop continued to ask to see in his bag. If he had nothing in his bag, he can turn around and say to them that they overreacted and complain about it. If they didn't and he entered the venue with weapons or worse a bomb, then teh police would be blamed for not searching it before letting him in. -
And thats why your just another internet GM/Coach and they pay guys that actually understand the game to coach the real teams. He really sucks at returning kicks? maybe Last year with teh new rule change he wasn't as effective, but look past his 1 year with the Bills and the guy was one of the better return guys in the league And of course Freddie would be a better 3rd string QB, he has proven this so many times at the pro and college level Your WR comment was just so dumb, I'm not even going to respond to it seeing as how his play stepping in at WR last year when they were badly hurt was just as good as some of the guys that started on this team outside of Stevie We get it, you nad many others hate the WC offence and feel that its useless. Yes its a gimmick, but so is almost any type of offence, its one thats shown it can work and be effective. The Bills should never try and go out and do something extra that might help them on offence, or give teams something else to epxect or prepare for. They have proven time and time again that their offence is so great that they don't need gimmicks to score and win

New Ownership settling in and giving the GM the ability to make moves?Who says they didn't try and make a move for him then and the Broncos decided they liked the Jets deal better?
-
It works out for both cities. The jets would get a very good RB with an attitude similar to the rest of the team and should fit right into the ME Lockerroom they have The Jags get a "local" kid who can help them maybe one day remove the tarps from the upper deck and for atleast one season have the media stop thinking of new names for them when tehy move to LA plus they get a RB to replace MJD on the roster. I don't know if the Jets would do it though, they spent alot of time this offseason working on Tebows Wildcat offence. I would see the Jags more likely to do it though to get Tebow and get rid of a malcontent but I would assume they may want a pick or 2 also in the deal

Would you feel better about this team if Vick was QB?
apuszczalowski replied to mike6683's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Vick would have been better off raping, and murdering children, he would have been forgiven much easier and quicker then doing anything to harm an animal, putting viscous dogs (Pitbulls) against each other (People make it sound like he threw shitzus and Pugs out in a pit against a rabid pitbull. its probably true that somone could get a similar job back after doing something like this and serving their sentence if they moved out of the area and started new. Problem is that many who have any kind of record find it hard to go back to their jobs because of the fact that most places when they do a background check will wonder why you went from a good stock broker job to a 3 year blank on your resume..... -
THERE'S A BENGAL IN MY APARTMENT!!!!! (LAMP)
apuszczalowski replied to ajzepp's topic in Off the Wall Archives
He was also injured in a game against the Bills. Don't know about him seeing the error in his ways and left the Dolphins though, they kind of kicked him to the curb. By his reaction, its Johnson or Allen......... -
Nobody has a problem with him jumping into the stands or doing a little dance, except that he has done and plans to do more elaborate things and the league doesn't want that. Everyone should care when his celebrations get flagged like they have in the past, cause its a dumb move that only hurts the team. When he is talking in the media about planning new celebrations (and them being borderline possible penalties) the league is going to keep an eye on him and be more likely to flag him for doing any type of celebration in the endzone. The guy appears to want to be the new Ocho Cinco in the league, remember when Ocho was trying to get more elaborate with his celebrations? Before the Bills game a few years back near christmas he talked about hitting a deer and was gonna use it as part of his next celebration. The league warned him and watched him like a hawk on the sidelines after he scored. Its time "Little Stevie" grows up and realise that its much better (and classier) to get on the highlight reel because of the TD catch itself, then for doing some stupid celebration (or blaming your drop on God)

Rex says Tebow throws better than Brad Smith
apuszczalowski replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why? What makes VY able to run the Wildcat? Because he can run/scramble? If you want Young to run the WC, he has to be the 3rd stringer, or else you have to remove Fitz from the game to put him in and run it. Only the 3rd string QB can come in to replace the starter, without having to remove the starter from the game. As Captain Hindsight said, its a waste of a roster spot for just a late round clipboard holder, atleast Smith in an emergency has the experience of playing QB, can play WR, and be used to return kicks. But your all right, the Bills should just forget using a newer rule to their advantage, and also scrap the wildcat or any other option on offence that may be considered a "gimmick" so they can run whatever offence the Pats, Packers, Saints or Giants run........ -
Wildcat: I just threw up in my mouth.
apuszczalowski replied to MikeSpeed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know about the Lions, Ravens or Texans, but you are right about the others, they don't need to use it cause their offence is already strong enough that they don't need it. They have the best QBs in the league running their offences and they succeed without it. But theres more then one way to win games, and the Bills coaching staff feels that adding this to their arsenal can help them take advantage at times. As for the comments about VY being able to run the WC, Wheres the proof in this? Just because he can scramble, it doesn't mean he can run that offence. Also, he would have to be neamed the 3rd string QB so that he can come in and out of the game without removing Fitz from it for the remainder of the game. Only the 3rd string QB can come in and out to replace the starting QB without the starter being removed. But of course, fans on a teams internet message board always know more about how to run a teams offence or defence then the team itself............. -
its true, I believe most of the jokes in the roast from the non-comedians are all written by the comedians themselves, or by writers from the roast. I have gotten tired of the roast recently, they are all the same, they spend about as much time or more roasting the other guests then they do the actual person being roasted, and most of the jokes are more for the shock value then something funny (which I find is the main part of the newer comedians routines, its all about the shock value then coming up with a clever joke) Did anyone catch Jeffrey Ross's new show "The Burn"? Basically comedy central trying to expand the roasts to a weekly 30 minute show.

Would You Trade Any 3 Bills Players for Andrew Luck?
apuszczalowski replied to Boludo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would, cause then the Board could go back to normal with its usual whining about how "Defence wins championships!" and "You have to build up the defence to have any chance of winning. See, the Colts knew you need defence first and any QB can make it to a SB with a good 'D'!" -
Basically, roughly translated, what he is saying is that fans should be excited cause the team is better this year. Don't expect them to be a completly better team, but expect them to be better then previous teams and expect them to continue to get better. Basically, they should be a playoff team, but not yet a SB contender (but thats coming) is what I get from the "Not Night and Day, more like Night and Dawn, but Daylights coming" part
-
Theres no point in arguing this, they won't let themselves believe that he has a purpose and that teh wildcat will be used. I think the #3 QB spot counts against your game day total, but what the rule change does is allows your #3 to come in and replace your QB without having to remove your QB from the game. Smith can come in on offence in a wildcat formation, and Fitz can go sit on the bench for the couple of plays, then return when they go back to a regular formation. In the past, Fitz would have to stay on the field and lineup somewhere else, like WR or else he would be out for the remainder of the game. But of course the Bills could just plug anyone there in that spot and be just as successful, cause Smith is barely adequate as a football player and why would you want to keep a guy around who can play atleast 3 different positions and exploit a special rule put in place when you can use that roster spot to keep an backup at another position!

NFL RUMOR: Bills close to waiving Vince Young
apuszczalowski replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because they have already said that one of the 2 will be cut. The Bills will carry 3 QB's, Fitz (Starter), VY/TT (Winner is the backup, loser cut), and Smith (#3/Wildcat QB)They may list Smith as "Other", but he is the #3 and will be the #3 QB because thats the only spot where he can come in to run the Wildcat and be able to let Fitz come out of the game, without being removed from it for the remainder. So they will be keeping 3 QB's, they will not be keeping 4 QB's on the roster.... -
I went to a Pre-Season game in Chicago (Bears-Cardinals, Matt leinarts first game I believe), and sat in some of the cheapest seats in the stadium (were were just below the lights at the very top of Soldier field, endzone corner basically) and I can't remember seeing people who were heavily intoxicated compared to RWS. even while leaving the stadium and walking around before and after, no one was stumbling or appeared drunk
-
I have watched people have beer thrown at them, food, and drunks wanting to fight fans of other teams at RWS at almost every game I have been to there. Sometimes the other fans deserved a bit of it because they were being obnoxious to everyone around them, but most times it was just because they weren't in Bills gear. The worst had to be when i went to the Saints/Bills game a couple seasons ago with some friends. One of my friends is a Cowgirls fan and he wore his Terell Owens jersey to the game (this was the year Owens played here) and he figured he should be fine because Owens was a Bill. While in the parking lot BBQing, 2 young drunk guys were stubbling around through the isles and one of them tried to pick a fight just because he had on a cowgirls jersey. The guy had to be held back by his friend while being told "Its OK, Its an Owens Jersey, he plays here now". The 2 guys continued to move on through the lot stumbling while wrestling each other and throwing each other onto parked cars.

Its the football crowds, and usually thats because football is the one sport where tailgating is considered "part of the experience" Hockey and baseball crowds drink at the games, very rarely do you see guys tailgating at these events. At Baseball games, the closest thing you get to tailgating is the crowd standing around the Hot Dog carts outside the stadium. The swearing and language you will always get anywhere you go, most of the time directed at the Ref/Ump, then at opposing teams star players
-
Thats about right, and its one of the reasons why the teams and the league are trying to crack down on the tailgating that goes on, and why one day, probably in the near future, we will probably see an end to the "tailgating experience" as we currently know it. I never understood why anyone would want to spend the kind of money the teams charge for tickets, to go out and get so drunk in the parking lot that they may not even be able to get in, and if they do, be willing to continue to over drink on more overpriced beer to the point where they can't even pay attention to the game or remember any of it the next day

"Look, See this, Its a picture of your mother" "Any of you guys want a McNugget?"

Schumer To Announce Plan To Keep Bills In Buffalo
apuszczalowski replied to uncle flap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The problem is with what Schumer is trying to do, is its just throwing more fuel on the fire for the fans to get upset about if they lose the team. Weither what he proposed or said will actually work or be allowed won't matter, now there are sections of the fan base that will think that if the Bills move, its all because they didn't take out one of those loans, therefore Ralph doesn't care about Bills fans and keeping the team here. How is he providing any help by just holding a press conference to announce to the public that theres a loan option that the Bills can use that requires immediate repayment if the team moves? If anything, all this was is a way to try and help the county with its lease negotiations and trying to help them get a deal that would require less of the state/county money be used to fix the place and let all the taxpayers know that the Bills can take advantage of this wonderful program where they get loans that are matched by the league, and hey, the bonus is that theres a slight possibility it will hinder a deal with someone looking to relocate cause they would have to repay the loan upon relocation. i heard the clips this morning and that was my favorite part. At first he asked if the Bills expressed interest in this or if its something they may do, after he said he talked to them, and his answer was "You have to go talk to them". His follow up was basically saying "You talked to them already, did they seem like they were interested?" and his response was that "You should go and ask them". He also asked if repayment of $25-50 mil really going to be a deterent or a hardship for someone who is already going to be paying well over $800,000, 000 to $1 billion for the team? His response was that the new owner would now have to pay an additional $25-50 million for the team right away to pay back the loans. The follow up is was pretty much "I understand, but is $25-50 mil extra going to hurt someone who already has $800 mil to $1 bil to buy the team?" His response, "I don't know, I don't have that kind of money right now, you would have to talk to someone that does"
