Like some have said, I don't think the Bills really have a rival anymore at this time. Usually a rivalry starts because of 2 teams fighting consistently each other for something larger then just a win. With the Bills being mediocre the last decade + (They haven't been horrible like everyone says, mediocre is 7-9, 8-8, 9-7, etc.) they really lost any rivalries because they haven't played many meaningful games. Some rivalries are also do to the close proximity of another team, but Detroit has been bad for so long that games against them just never really mattered for much, same with the Browns. We haven't had a game against them that menat anything in a long time. In the division, both Miami and Buffalo haven't had meaningful games against each other since Kelly/Marino, same with teh Jets. The Pats may be seen as a rival right now according to Buffalo fans, but NE fans and the team don't really seem to care much about playing Buffalo cause the games haven't been meaningful. There isn't always a rival for a team, and those rivals can change over time. A true rivalry is something where both teams and their fans view the rivalry the same. But some rivalries can exist because of a history between teams. Sometimes what people might call a rivalry is more of just a hatred for another team, a rivalry is more of a hatred shared by both teams for each other I would say if you had to chose 3 rivals for the Bills the closest would be NE because they are in the same division and have dominated the Bills over the last decade or so, the Cowboys only because of the last 2 Super Bowls, and the Dolphins (even though that rivalry has sort of died down on both sides because the games just haven't been meaningful in a while.

Dont get us started on this................ The government believes that less hospitals are better and that we can all make do with "Urgent care Centres" or driving about 30 minutes to the nearest hospital. Fort Erie and Port Colborne both had their hospitals closed while St. Catharines is building a huge hospital to serve the area. Now theres talks of closing Niagara Falls and Wellands Hospitals and building one to serve NF, Pt Colborne, Ft Erie, and Welland. Niagara Falls does have a hosipital (for now), but the Hamilton Hospital is the closest larger hospital where patients with serious injuries like this are taken to.

Oakland could wind up losing all it's sports teams
apuszczalowski replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The NBA has to have the most relocation of all of the other major sports leagues combined. It seems like tehy would rather see teams change locations every few seasons then try and build up fanbases in the current locations. In that article it even says that the Warriors have the top 10 attendance in the league, but the owners just want the team in San Fransisco. The move isn't really that far I guess so I guess this isn't that big of a deal -
Cut out another 3-4 and after about 2-3 seasons you might also be able to afford to buy the Bills

Famous people you've seen in person

My list is pretty small and sad I met and got an autograph from Commander Tom when i was a kid, he would come to town and be part of the Rose Festival Parade I met and have autographs from Rob Ray and Ted Nolan of the Sabres. I also met Micheal Grosek when he played for the Sabres, I was with my sisters friend outside the Fort Erie arena by their bus when they had open practices in Niagara and were getting some autographs. Grosek came out and we asked who he was, he said his name but his accent made it hard to understand so he had to repeat it a few times. My sisters friend had cards of the team he was getting them to sign and just said he didn't have his card so Grosek walked away. Before getting to the bus, he was approached by a kid with a piece of paper he asked him to sign and Grosek looked at him and said "I don't sign your Toilet Paper!" and walked away. Otherwise I came close to meeting the lead singer from the Canadian Band, The Trews. I had tickets to a show they were doing at the local university and I was feeling sick but didn't want to miss it. I was with my brother and kept going outside onto a patio to get air cause I was sweating and feeling sick. When I went out there, The lead singer was out there talking with an older woman, and they just looked at me and then kept talking. Found out a few days later I had mono, still made it to see the Chilli Peppers a few days later. With work I have met a few retired hockey players, a retired CFL player, a couple former NHL refs, and Mark Hamister (the guy who was trying to buy the Sabres when Golisano did I was hoping someone would get the reference -

And who says the US school systems aren't teaching the kids anything? This kid has alreqady learned all she needs to know to succeed in life. If you aren't given what you want by someone else, go to court and sue cause its obviously their fault you! -
Only way that game gets flexed is if the Jets are fighting for a wildcard that week Bills will have the division clinched and wrapped up prior to week 12, the goal posts won't be coming down that game, and the Bills 3rd stringers will keep the game competitive against Tebow

Saints shouldn't give brees a long term deal
apuszczalowski replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So why are they even playing the games then? If the seasons a write off cause the coach has to sit out with a couple of players? you Know, Manning (Peyton) only won one championship too.......... -
Tanney no longer with the Bills
apuszczalowski replied to Drewgetz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, His best chance here was to get a spot on the PS because he would really have to impress to get a roster spot because he would have to beat out Young and Thigpen for #2, or show even more versatility the Smith and the ability to run the wildcat to get the #3 QB spot -

Toronto Series Extension
apuszczalowski replied to Homey D. Clown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have said it before and I will say it again, Its because the game is played accross the border that has many fans upset. Toronto, IIRC is closer to Buffalo then Milwaukee is to Green bay, yet Green bay fans didn't complain letting them have a game a year to try and regionalise that team. If the Game was in Rochester or Syracuse, fans wouldn't be whining and throwing tantrums about losing a home game, they would probably be applauding the front office for doing what they can to tap into new markets and do what it takes to keep a team in Buffalo. The same fans crying over the Bills making money with this deal are mostly the same ones that demand Ralph sell the naming rights on the stadium for the couple million it would bring the team in additional revenue. But instead of making the less then 90 minute drive accross the border to come watch the game, like many unappreaciated Canadians do to help support your team when they play at home, stay at home and cry about Toronto not having the same atmosphere as the Ralph and the stadium being filled with the visiting teams fans -

Competition at the QB position
apuszczalowski replied to Donald Duck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And thats why right now, the Bills are going into training camp, and more then likely the season with Fitz as the starter and only the #2 QB spot up for grabs. Fitz is gonna get the reps with the #1's to get ready for the season and they will give Thigpen and Young reps with the #2's. Thats not to say though that if Fitz looks horrible, and Young or Thigpen look incredible that they won't change their mind. Fitz is the starter here, thats the way they are moving forward, but if someone else on this roster looks like they would give the team a better chance to win every game, I don't think Chan and Nix would be afraid to make a move and change the starter -
Except that the Bills would need a new o-line (and the opponents would need a new d-line and maybe LB's) every time that Mount Jasper falls forward and crushes them. The field would have larger craters/divots in it from wherever he lands too I call shenanigans on this one, a man of jaspers stature gets more then a bust in Canton, I hear they are preparing to rename the building after him, give him his own wing of the building, and construct a giant (which is life size) unobtainium statue of him at teh front entryway to the Hall. All the other busts would then be moved out to a seperate storage container outside because even combined they would not be worthy of being in the Hall as him I like to think I was in on the ground floor of the chroisien sensation when i was one of the original memebrs of the bandwagon when i decided to forgo the hype that was the Losman and Edwards bandwagon and go straight to the next option

Competition at the QB position
apuszczalowski replied to Donald Duck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't get why people are complaining about having competition at any spot on a team.I wouldn't want any player on my team thinking they can sit back and be comfortable in their spot. I want the entire team to play like they could lose their job. It never hurts to be stocked with more talent then you need. If VY ends up challenging Fitz for the starter spot its hardly a bad thing, unless you bought your Fitz jersey last year and are afraid it will join the Collins, Johnson, Flutie, Losman, Edwards and Holcomb jerseys in your closet soon. If Vince Young is challenging Fitz for the starters spot, it means they have someone who is playing as good, or better then the starter. But everyone can relax, Nix has said a few times already that Fitz is the starter, and Young is here to compete for the #2 spot with Thigpen, he said the team knows it, the coaching staff knows it, and young knows it. Everyone except a bunch of fans seem to know it -
James Carmon just signed????
apuszczalowski replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The 3rd string QB is the 'Wildcat QB', the changes to the rule have now allowed teams to have a player on the roster that can be put into the game in place of the starting QB without having to remove the starter from the game. That is Brad Smiths position and the reason why they brought him here. The 3rd QB on teh depth chart will be a developmental Qb who will be put on the PS. There are only 2 spots up for grabs and that will be the #2 spot behind Fitz, between Young and Thigpen, winner gets teh #2 spot, loser looks for a job elsewhere. The only other QB sot up for grabs will be the developmental guy on the PS. The plan is that during workouts and training camp they figure out who they like better between Young and Thigpen. Only way someone like Tanney or Corps makes the active roster is as the #2, unless they feel that they can be just as versatile as Smith playing special teams and WR, and run the wildcat -
The Bills have already said that Young is being brought in to compete for the Backup job, which means its between him and Thigpen. Fitz is the starter, and Smith is the #3 "Wildcat" QB. They already said that the reason it wasn't used more and Smith didn't shine last year was because of the shorten off season, but they are excited to see what he can do after having a full offseason with him. I really don't get what people don't understand about this. Smith is not a backup QB. The league changed the rule and they now allow the 3rd QBs roster spot to now be held by a person who can come in and run a wildcat formation for you without having to have your QB on the field in a WR position, and without having to remove the starting QB from the game. Smith is an emergency QB only because he can throw the ball in an emergency or in the wildcat. He isn't going anywhere because he is a versatile weapon in the offence and special teams. The battle is between Thigpen and Young, one will stay, the other will be looking for a new team. They won't be keeping both on the roster

Parents of the year candidates? I'm sure the guys answering a Craigslist ad to take teenage girls to the prom for cash is the safe way to go. The girls don't know any guys? They don't have any male friends that can go? I'm sure the parents are going to be able to weed out any of the guys that may be trouble and find the best ones. The ad says more about the requirements for the guys looks then the kind of person they are

crazy boys baseball team forfeits championship
apuszczalowski replied to John Adams's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Nah, in Countries like Afghanistan they would have just stoned her before taking the field, along with the other team for allowing her to play. They wouldn't lose by a forefeit to a team just because a girl was playing on it -

Then the only possible issues I have heard of might be with the transmission IIRC The Quadratrac (np249) transfer cases (part that goes on the rear of the tranmsion to make it 4wd) I believe they were called were teh ones that had the viscous couplers and were an "all-time 4wd" transfer case (I think your options were a 4hi (alltime), 4 low, and neutral on the shifter). they aren't worth repairing the transfer case, if its gone, you can still drive it and either live with slightly crappy mileage and a weird bang/jump when making tight turns, or replace with a transfer case with the 2wd, 4hi, 4low neutral options also found in jeeps (inline 6 and v8s). Its not a hard swap if you can get a replacement, I did one in a few hours on my back in a small garage.
