  1. If the Bills had drafted them...............Today we would continue to cry B*tch and moan about how we could have drafted 2 different players (Maybe even Dareus and Williams) and they would have been such a greater pick then what Buffalo did. It doesn't matter who the Bills pick, if they aren't Pro Bowlers right away, everyone here will just be talking about how we could have had 'Player X' at that spot and how the players a bust and another mistake by the front office and more proof Ralphs the anit-christ
  2. Yeah, cause stuff like this never happens to other teamsThe starters always are teh best players hands down and a backup never emerges later on to take over a spot..............
  3. Everyone has the right to boo, or to not be happy with the product on the field, Your countries Freedom of Speech is supposed to allow you the freedom to say what you want. But don't give me the BS crap that "well I pay good money for tickets so I deserve a winning team and being a complete A-hole throwing things at and verbally assaulting the players/coaches is my right because they didn't play a game to my expectations". No one is forcing you to pay money to go to games, or buy merchandise. No one is stopping you from continuing to support this team and not switching to one that is winning so you can feel like people actual care more about you cause your football team is winning. The real embarssment here are the fans that feel they "deserve" something better just because they bought some merchandise, or tickets and think that people actually think more/less of them because of how their sports team is doing. This isn't just a Buffalo thing, it happens everywhere because "fans" have this belief that buy purchasing merchandise and tickets it means they are now owed a winning team.
  4. Hindsight is great, isn't it?Alot of NFL teams could have had them too, but they passed and fell into the second round. Its easy to go back and look after a few years at the players any team "could of had" instead of what they took and say it was a mistake.........
  5. Enough with this already, its about as real as the "Ralph is Cheap" idea There are only 32 of each coaching/co-ordinating/GM positions in the league. Not all coaches/co-ordinators in the league want to be HC's, and sometimes there are some that feel comfortable where they are and with what they are doing. In the last coaching search, how many people actually turned the Bills down? The OC for the Jets who wanted to stay in NY as the OC, and Cowher who hasn't accepted any offers to coach and seems pretty happy/content with his broadcasting job. Shanahan turned the bills down to accept the offer from the redskins to coach them. Those are the only 2 that I can remember actually turning down the Bills offer. It was the allmighty Saint Cowher who turned down Buffalos offer because he said he wasn't interested in getting back into coaching, but gave them the recommendation for Gailey
  6. BSYou don't have to have any kind of special standing in the league to demand a trade or release. He can go into the 49ers front office at any time and demand that they either move him or release him. He may not be a player thats going to be able to demand where he goes though, but he has the right and ability to ask for a trade/release and sit out until he gets it. There are plenty of teams in need of an upgrade at QB that would give him a look
  7. Smith has not been horrible, but he also hasn't been great, and he isn't the kind of QB that everyone here wants/expects (a take charge, elite kind of player) He has been a part of some really bad teams in SF, and was good enough for them with the defence they have to go deep. Problem is that he is not the kind of guy that will come in and turn around this offence and make it much better. He would probably look like an improvement over Fitz because his throws would atleast come within range of the WR he is throwing it to, and he probably won't throw an INT every single final drive the Bills have in close games, but he isn't going to give the Bills a QB that can carry the offence for them.
  8. No one big gets fired prior to the season ending, thats almost guaranteed because who do you elevate to the interim HC position? Wanny? Modkins? The ST Coach? I can't ever remember a time where a team then hired someone outside the organisation during the season to coach because they have no time to implement their systems. Whomeever would take over doesn't have time to teach any new schemes to the team so they basically just continue with what the team already knows til the end of the season. Wanny is probably safe for now because the defence has been improving over the last few games, and again, no one really able to take over and replace him right now. The trade deadline is over and the only roster moves that can be made would be the cutting of players and raiding other teams PS players, or the waiver wire, so Nix wouldn't be let go til the end of the season anyways. To be honest, the way I think it plays out, the Bills win a few games and end the season at 8-8 or 7-9. Nix announces he is going to retire/step down and hand the control over to Whaley at this time. As for Chan, the front office may decide to let him go, or allow him to step down also. I can't see any of them being let go, more likely they decide to step down and maybe be given a consulting type role or "retire".
  9. Smith is not going to stay in SF past this season, he will demand a trade or straight up release at the end of the season. He is not happy about losing his job from an injury, especially since what the team did to him in the offseason with courting Peyton
  10. That is typically the issue most places have with them. They are an animal, and one that has the potential to be very dangerous because of its strength and build. If they get protective, or bite/attack, they will do much more damage then say a Shitzu or even a Lab. I knew someone a few years ago with a Pit bull and (IIRC) a Bull dog, both had incredible strength, and he would talk about what the dogs could do while playing out in the yard with toys or even trees. The strength they had was incredible, and both were like many have said, the sweetest, most gentle dogs around the house I would be that a large group Pit Bull Owners can handle the bigger responsibilities of handling a dog with the potential of a Pit Bull, but the problem is that theres also a large group that think they can, or don't care if they can because they just want one for the "street cred"/status of looking tougher by having a dog like that. And its like they always say, It only takes a few bad apples to ruin it for the rest of us.
  11. Give it a rest already with the pure hatred for Whitner, The news of Kaepernick starting has been all over the news since Wednesday, its not like he broke the news about some secret that no one knew had any clue about Whitner could tweet a cure for aids and cancer and fans in Buffalo would still find a way to bash him for it because he was drafted and not Ngata
  12. Can they end with a winning record this season? I think Yes Will they make the playoffs with that winning record? I'm a bit more iffy on that one This Bills team is a team that is grossly underachieving (especially on defence) right now. They have the talent on both offence and defence to have a chance against anyteam in this league (Not every team has pro bowlers at every position and no holes to their team). If the defence turned the corner against Miami and start playing as they were expected to when they were assembled this offseason, things will change around here. Even in the loss to the Pats and the Texans, the Bills hung in and played close enough to pull out a win. They also seem to be getting healthier each week, unlike their usual of talent dropping like flies onto IR The Colts seem to be a team that is the opposite, they are a team thats overachieving right now and playing better then they should be when you look at the talent they have. The Jags are a very beatable team right now, and the Rams have been beaten the last 2 weeks pretty badly. The Seahawks are a good team, but nothing the Bills can't/shouldn't beat. If they play like they should, the season will most likely come down to the final game against the Jets which by that time, most of the Jets players and staff will be playing for their jobs, and it will be up to the Bills team to make sure they take care of business
  13. He actually said in interviews that he didn't want to do the "Food network thing" and have a full show and be a celebrity all over the country. He was happier doing his shorter syndicated segments and not having to travel around with bodyguards because he was a celebrity. One of the things many liked about what he did was he wasn't about having to use specialty ingredients, his food would use processed and pre-prepared parts (like pre made pie crusts for pies and canned soups, etc.), something the average person/family would have to create dinner that night
  14. Don't worry, I'm sure Jerry Jones will go out and pay his way into having the constitution changed to say the Cowgirls are Americas team
  15. I know that, my point was that maybe they decided to waive the 48hr waiting period because this isn't the case of a guy going out to a bar with friends in his home town and winding up going home with someone. The guy was alone, and left a stadium where he told his brother he would meet them at another location away from the stadium after he was removed for what is being assumed was excessive drinking. He is not in his home area, and may be unfamiliar with the area. its possible they said they would search the area sooner then normal because the outcome was probably going to be much worse if they waited the 48 hrs
  16. I don't think I see any "support" going on in that photo
  17. I believe they said last night he was still doing it up to last years telethon
  18. So, Whats your address again and what time should we all come over? Thats a strange looking turkey
  19. You might as well then just eliminate the kicker position. Kickoffs now are almost always touchbacks, now eliminating the PATs would make the position useless. Why not just make a TD 7 points, and have every team start on the 20 after every TD and to start the game/2nd half? Basically you would be holding a roster spot for someone who can kick a fieldgoal....
  20. I almost wonder that because there was a likelyhood that large amounts of alcohol could be involved that the police felt it necessary to take action sooner? Or because this was a situation where the person wasn't from the area, and its obvious that they were actually missing that they decided to search instead of wait?
  21. I disagree on this, but probably because growing up, no one had clear lights, Everything was colored lights. We even had a manger my dad built as a kid that we set up every year under the tree that he had put some lights in under the roof of it and they were colored. When the old lights were dying, my dad installed a new set with more colors and a flasher and we renamed the manger to "Disco night in Bethlehem" I'm thinking things might start to change for me once I have a little one at christmas time though. Might feel more in the mood to do things and decorate more for them
  22. Were they playing the washington generals?
  23. I grew up watching his spot on WKBW news at noon when I came home for lunch from school, and also during the later news casts around dinner. My parents always watched him He always seemed like a great, down to earth kind of guy and someone who would have been great to hang around with, very grandfatherly I always picture him as you when I see your posts......
  24. My wife wants to put them up at the start of November, I think last year her mom and sister came over the first weekend in November and put up the tree and decorated. I however sat upstairs in the bedroom watching football refusing to partake in anything christmas until atleast after your thanksgiving (It was a rule we had growing up, the Christmas season didn't start til the weekend after your thanksgiving). This year the wedding delayed decorating so her mom and sister are coming over this weekend, but at her moms place, the decorations went up first week of November. I do notice now that stores around here are pushing earlier and earlier every year to get the christmas stuff out. I don't think Halloween was over and Christmas stuff was already coming out. This actually makes me less in the mood to celebrate the holliday cause its just showing how much more commercialised its becoming. I do like the idea of getting outdoor decorations up when teh weather is above freezing. As a kid I was always the lucky one who had to go out in the below freezing temperature on a saturday or sunday afternoon in december to hold the ladder and stand around "helping" my dad hang the lights on the roof. Because of that, to this day I refuse to decorate the outside of the house because it brings back those feelings of frozen feet and numb hands that took hours of sitting by the heating vents to get back to normal
  25. If the Bills want to compete with the rest of the league, then yes, stadium improvements or a new stadium are needed. A new stadium/stadium improvements can help bring in more revenue while justifying increase to ticket prices. They don't need to go as far as waht Dallas or NY have done, but just keeping the stadium as is just isn't an option if they hope to stay a viable franchise. Its the reality of todays fans and league. Its a business and its all about increasing revenue sources. They need to compete with todays TVs and home theatres that are becoming more and more popular and make the game day experience better to keep people from just staying home to watch. As for the comment about college games, schools couldn't afford to build fancy stadiums without increasing ticket prices, and with it being a school, how many college students are going to be able to afford ticket prices comparable to Dallas or NY?
