  1. Will the LA Bills feel sympathy and bring it to Buffalo after they win it?
  2. People here really think that theres not a group in LA thats ready to drop $1.5 Billion on a team? The stadium IIRC already has the funding to be built once they get a commitment that a teams going to move there. I'm sure theres a group that will have around $1.5 billion to spend to get a team when available. (+/-$800 mil for the team, $400 mil for the lease buyout, plus an extra $300 mil for other fees like the league relocation fee which I could see the league either waiving or making it within someones budget to get a team in LA where they want it)
  3. They dumped young because he was horrible in TC and the couple pre-season games he played in, just not worth keeping around. I think they went after TJ because he is someone they admitted they watched previously and liked. They got him cheap (along with him taking a paycut) and give him time to learn the offence. I think they had expected Fitz may end up going down with an injury sometime this season, so he was the backup plan if that happened. He would have moved in as the #1 over Thigpen, who would have stayed the backup. Since Fitz stayed healthy, TJ stayed the #3. Its also possible that in person, when they gave him a chance to show what he could do, Nix and Gailey were less impressed with him
  4. Story, not plural, there was only one story there of an attempt of a motivational speech that didn't workIf the only problem with the guy is that hes not good at giving motivational speeches, hire a damn motivational speaker to pump the team up in the lockerroom every week if its so important. Otherwise, theres other coaches people have suggested should be looked at that have been fired from atleast 2 other teams
  5. Or it could have been another Jasper, Calloway, or Levi Brown
  6. Do you really think that the coaching staff and team don't know what they have in Tavaris Jackson already that they need to see what he can do on the field in 2 meaningless games? The only reason fans kick and scream that a player should be on the field 'To see what they have' is because the fans want to know so they can decide if they should continue to scream about the front office being incompetent
  7. The Fans must know what the team has in Jackson, START HIM NOW!!!!!!!!!!! I don't get it, shouldn't the "We want a top draft pick" Fans want Fitz to start the last 2 games to guarantee losses to get the better pick?
  8. I'm not saying I was pro Wanstache, thats just what I see coming for next season. As for your reasons not to want him, Those stats are actually better then Chans, and the Basket story part, who cares? So he screwed up a speech/analogy he was giving to the players, that means absolutly nothing, I'm sure Lombardi may have screwed up a speech in the locker room once or twice in his career. I'm sure they all weren't perfectly quotable masterpieces And isn't Bleacher report basically a site where anybody can write for?
  9. And if he was out there doing those things, everyone would be claiming he is such a meddling owner, always around checking on stuff and watching over the peopl he put in charge. He isn't the only owner in pro sports who isn't at owners meetings, there are plenty of other teams in pro sports who have people that attend those meetings in place of the actual owner
  10. I don't feel like going through the previous 7 pages, but has anyone brought up the comment I heard on WGR this morning that "Saint Polian" even preached continuity and not continuing to fire the coaching staff. I have said many times before, I think they can still stick with the idea of continuity and get rid of Chan. I can't see him staying around for another year, at his age, he just looks and sounds beaten. I see him retiring at the end of the year and passing his job of HC over to Wanstache (He's the only one with previous Head Coaching experience and it would only involve new co-ordinators he can pick to run the offence and defence)
  11. Depends on whos job it would be to fix itI'm sure in teh next 26 years, the majority of all computer systems running things in this world will have been replaced atleast once or twice with new systems that they can be fixed to solve this issue, or atleast push the issue to a later date where it becomes the futures problem and not ours......
  12. the guys going to IR right now probably wouldn't end up on IR earlier in the season. Alot of teams will put guys with minor injuries on IR now if they aren't in the playoff picture so it frees up a roster spot for someone else to get playing time/experience. If your injury is going to take more then a week to heal now, why not put them on IR and free up a spot?
  13. I really don't think Chan has another year left in him. He just looks and sounds like a beaten man right now. I think Nix is back for one more year, although I could see him stepping down and retiring to give the job to Whaley (Maybe he does this after the Draft or FA, just before training camp?), and I think that Fitz is back next season (only because of the cost to cut him), but he will have to win the starting job against a rookie drafted early, and jackson (or a new FA signing). Going with comments about continuity, I think that if I'm right on Chan and he retires, Its Wanstache that is given the HC spot for next year so it would involve less change to the entire coaching staff (just new co-ordinators)
  14. Thats better He may not have been that good before Harbaugh, but since Harbaugh came in, he has looked better. As I said before, outside of Gore, he didn't have much else on offence to help out. Maybe Harbaugh taught him something to make him a better QB? I think the gaps alot bigger between Smith and Fitz. I'm not saying Smith is the Answer, but if my choice wasss between Fitz and Smith for next year, Smith would be my choice You think drafting a QB is such a better option, but yet we are talking about a guy who was the best QB in his draft class that in your opinion, sucks and isn't an improvement over Fitz. Theres probably the same chance that Smith could come here and be a starter as there is of the guy they draft being any better. Atleast with Smith, he has NFL experience.
  15. I think that the internet resale makes it harder for teams to actually sell out games then it did before. With the internet, more people are going out and buying tickets with the intent of re-selling them online. Its just as easy, and most times cheaper to buy the tickets off stub hub or ebay a week before the game then going through the Bills site. Back in the 90s, if I wanted to go to a game, I either had to buy it through the Bills box office, or usually a scalper. When you buy off Stub Hub/Ebay instead, it might change the number of people actually in attendance for a game, but not the number of tickets sold to the game, because the ticket you are buying is already accounted for The fans in Canada were there just as much in the 90s as they are today, I doubt that number has changed that much If the Bills would have given one home game a year to Rochester, people would view this move as Genius marketing and love it, but because its in Canada and in Toronto, people seem to feel its on another planet. Buffalonians are afraid of Toronto, because Toronto has the population and money that could support an NFL franchise if it did have one, Rochester on the other hand does not, so they wouldn't feel as threatened. They also hate teh idea of having to come to go through the hassle of crossing the border into a second class country to see the game, even though Canadians do it all the time to see the game at RWS. The comment earlier about teh NFL changing since the 90s is right, back then Buffalo was still one of the smaller markets, but was still big enough to support the sport. In those 20 years, the league grew and expanded, and Buffalo did not. In todays NFL, Buffalo is not the type of area that can suport a team in a sport the size of the NFL without help. Instead of facing this and helping, the fans here would rather resist and fight any help because they still believe they are enough to support the league, or the league should change so they can stay the same. Thats true, people would come out more right now if the team was leading the division, but I think thats only the start. I think that once they start winning people would flock back for a little while because they haven't experienced it in so long, but I think that after a while, just winning isn't enough to keep the fans coming out. If things were different, and the bills were in the position of the Patriots the last decade, I have a feeling by now fans would start skipping these december games in bad weather to stay home, "its just another win, why freeze out there when i can save some cash for the playoffs and watch at home"
  16. The problem is that in todays NFL, with everyone practicing indoors in most places, and a bunch of teams playing in domes, I think the weather affects both teams just as much. Decembers are becoming a little more mild around here, and its not like when they ever play in "Buffalo type weather", there has been an obvious advantage to the Bills. Also, with FA, and the draft, players are coming from all over to make up these teams, there are guys on the Bills who have never seen snow before in their lives, how is this an advantage for the Bills?
  17. back then, I always remember hearing about the threat of a blackout on the news during the week, then someone, either Ralph or a local company buying up whatever was left to get the game on TVI do remember it being very rare that the game would not actually be on TV, but I do remember it as almost a weekly occurance that someone would step in at the deadline and buy up the remaining tickets back then. Now the local businesses just let it get blacked out
  18. I would assume that they could use that one next, but with the failure of the Y2K hype, I don't think many are going to get excited over this one
  19. That atleast makes sense, you went out to a company christmas party in a suit and tie, he was at home with only a few close family/friends (his GF, Nanny and son) and he dressed up. Yeah, LaGuerta was probably killed instantly, but She did have blood all over her from the Shot, Are tehy trying to say that none of it got on Deb while she hugged her body? C'mon man Hmmmm, didn't notice that, another good oneAlthough in her defence, She was probably wearing heels, and would you really want to try and have to apprehend/fight someone in heels?
  20. Guys, I don't think its real Are teh Meatball Asteroids going to push us directly into the sun? 1250 degrees is a really hot temperature to reach without it, unless the meatball asteroids are also covered in space fire
  21. I brought this up with someone at work last week, so after the Mayans prediction for the apocolypse, whats the next date predicted that we will be looking forward to? Is there another one, cause if not, I was thinking of getting in on the predictions and coming up with my own.
  22. Whats Fitz going to teach him? How to miss your WR by throwing it 5 yards ahead or behind them? How to throw a pick with little time left to seal a game for the other team? If its how to grow a beard, I will give you that, I'm sure the new guy will have alot to learn from him. Drafting a young QB has just as much of a chance of working out as reclaiming someone elses project. Drafting QBs has worked so well in the past. Your even dismissing picking up a player from another team who was the top QB in his draft class for the Bills to draft a QB. Smith is not going to become one of the leagues Elite QBs, but he can still be one of the better QBs that can get a team to the playoffs. Up until probably last seasons, the 49ers offence was pretty bad outside of Frank Gore. He was unseated because of injury, and they felt the guy they drafted and brought in was playing atleast as good as him so they stayed with the backup. He didn't lose the job because he was "Sanchezing it up" out there
  23. Anyone ever think Mike Mularky would ever get NFL consideration after his fiasco in Buffalo? Those 2 you mentioned might not get consideration again because of things they did with those teams, and not because the organisation is a mess. Do you really think (I know stupid question cause who actually thinks around here) that someone who actually wants the chance to be an NFL HC is going to pass up one of 32 positions in the league? This team isn't is as bad of shape as most here b*tch and moan about. As for the ownership instability, how is that going to matter if the coach is decent and is winning, do you think the new owner is going to come in and fire you just because they want to give their friend a job if your actually doing a good job? the possibility of relocation/having to move are all part of any coaching job. I would believe that if the coach had his choice between Buffalo and another job, they might take the other NFL head Coaching job. Do you really want someone who is too afraid to take over a losinig team? How many times does the Head coaching job become available on a winning team? This team could be a QB, and a few tweaks to a defence away from being a playoff team. Are they really worse off then the Browns or Chiefs or Raiders or Jaguars? Would anyone here trade the last decade of football with a Lions fan? Are the Bills really that much more of a Mess then the Jets? Are the Dolphins, a team the Bills already beat once this year really that much better?
  24. Only way the Seahawks take Sanchez off the Jets hands in a trade is if Flynn has shown he is completly incapable of playing football in the NFL, or Rex and the jets have photos of Caroll shower at Penn State with Sandusky. Caroll may have coached Mark in College, but the guy isn't running a charity to help out his former players. If Flynn is as good as everyone thinks, why would he move him out so he can try and fix Sanchez and have to give up something to get him? Only Scenerio I see where Seattle picks up sanchez is if at the end of the season, Flynn demands a trade to be a starter, and teh jets release Sanchez making him a free agent able to sign anywhere he wants
  25. I could see the Jets going after Vick, I don't see them going through a full scale rebuild, and I think just like Fitz, Sanchez's time as a starter in NY is done. With alot of their team veterans, I could see them bringing in Vick to try and "win now". Atleast with Vick, they shouldn't have to worry about their turnover stats going down...........................on offence
