In case you missed the worlds longest onside kick
apuszczalowski replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can honestly say that in all my years of watching football, I never realised that a kickoff is a live ball unlike a punt. I thought maybe someone had touched it, the sound wasn't very loud where I was watching the game so I didn't hear anything explaining it either. Had to laugh cause it summed up the team and this season so well..... -
The fix is in-- Lynn will be the new head coach
apuszczalowski replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If any potential coach looks at the bills job and finds it unattractive because they fired Rex after less then 2 years, I wouldn't want them anyway. If they are too Dumb to see that Rex was let go because of how the team continued to get worse u see his time here and how poorly coached they were, then that guy will fail too because they aren't that bright. They guy took over a top 5 defence and dismantled it making it one of the worst, made horrible in game decisions and had a badly disciplined team. You can try and use injuries as an excuse, but even when the injured players were healthy the team was still a mess. Players wise, there's alot of talent already here to work with and options at qb, they won't be tied down to anyone except probably keeping CJ on the roster and have the option. Of drafting someone they like in the draft this year. In LA your tied to Goff for atleast 2 seasons I would think. They have made their qb Moran's now have to play it out, so as a coach you better be happy with him. -

meh, I could care less what his offence could do unless he was applying for the OC job. I want my HC focused on leading the team as a whole, and have good, competent coordinators taking control of the offence and defence. I don't want the HC also running the offence or defence or special teams. That's the coordinators jobs. Just keep the team disciplined and everyone doing their jobs. -
a bet a bunch would, how many here hated Hogan and thought he was garbage. Where is he starting again?

disagree, with a good defence they will be in the playoffs. The offence is in the top half of the league and lead in some categories. Sure an upgrade at qb isn't going to hurt, but it's not going to do anything if the defence stays the same. Hopefully they have the talent on defence that they can get a new DC who can bring in a scheme to work with what they have and build off of it, instead of tearing out down and starting over again -
yeah, but if you just give him a few more years he may be able to get them back into the top 10. I said it in another post, there is no timeframe set in stone for coaches, you have to look at the situation and circumstances, and Rex deserves to be canned less then 2 years in, he never should have been fired. And if you want proof of this, let's see if Rex gets another HC chance after this, I think the league sees him as washed up has been. If the team looked like they were getting better, or more disciplined, or just lacking talent (there's lots of talent on this roster, it's just not being used to its potential) there's a reason to argue he deserves more time. Instead they appear to only be getting worse and not getting better. Rex has a history that we have all watched and followed first hand as a HC and his coaching continues to get worse then when he was fired by the jets. .....when he was handed one in the top 5......

atleast with marrone the team was getting better and he was improving on his record from the year before. F your going to go after the Pegulas for making a mistake, it was hiring Rex in the first place. Rex and rob are living off of and now destroying the Ryan legacy/name that their father built. They are almost 2 years too late making this move and if anything this will make the franchise more respectable. Greg bedard? I have never even heard of him, i doubt his opinion is worth any more then yours or mine....

You can't just say a coach gets 'X' years to fix something. It's different depending on the situation. Rex stepped into scream with a good defence and an offence that needed improvement. They weren't far off and if Marrone had not quit may have been in the playoffs last year. Rex was the wrong higher for the situation , they needed someone to step in and build off what they had, instead the brought in someone who decided to try to fix what wasn't broken. His approach set them back so he could rebuild an already good defence, and his team was going backwards instead of forward. If they team appeared to look like they were getting better and not worse, playing Disciplined and hard but not getting the wins, the coach might still be here. But Rex already has a long resume that wasn't good and he wasn't showing g signs he could turn things around and that's why the smartest idea was to get rid of him now instead of letting him stay and setting g the team back further

the only mistake they made with the Lawson pick that made them look stupid was that they came out immediately and said he didn't need surgery and would start day 1. Had they come out and said he would most likely need surgery and would get it immediately so he wouldn't miss much time it would have looked so much better on them. Instead they look uninformed and stupid, kinda like trying to convince people trump is a smarter business guy then the Pegulas instead of just being a better con artist who can convinces dimwitted people that he is some smart investor who made himself from nothing

so does Percy's

no one seems to have that answer because many have asked the same thing and no response. I was expecting someone to say only certain players can call a time out, like QB on offence or a certain defensive player. The game footage clearly shows white calling time out well before the ball was snapped. Everyone focused on Rex making the call late

Bills vs. Dolphins Postgame

Yup, not Rex's fault, gotta get rid of Whaley and tyrod......Rex just needs some more time and continuity! -
well to be fair, they may have given up 3 200 yard games to a single back, but it was only to 2 different people.......... There were many questionable calls, like usual. I'm still lost on the attempt where White was standing there a good 10-15 seconds before the snap signaling for a timeout and nothing before Rex called it too late. Don't most coaches tell the ref beforehand that they will be Calli g at timeout at 1 second d left on the clock? And are timeouts only allowed to be called by certain players on the field?

he could even hit the post, he would look like he's gonna hit it and then miss it wide just as he gets up to it. he had one good year after being just as bad as he's been the last 2 years for the dolphins. I've said it since last year that he is garbage but kept hearing how clutch he was and that he was hurt or Rex messed with him by bringing in others to look at for his job. He is done, and has been for a while. His one good year here was more of a fluke then the norm

Who should sit next week?
apuszczalowski replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who gives a duck if any of them get hurt, their are going to have almost 6-7 months of time to heal before they need to report to training camp. There's no more games after next Sunday to play for. Everyone is playing for a job next year. -

he was calling it for like 5 minutes before the ball was snapped and even kept doing it while they were arguing with the red on the sideline. -

Lol, fun fact, last Christmas Eve home game, a clear td was missed by the bills late in the game when a TE (Robert royal) couldnt drag his other foot down at the back of the endzone. -

Jim Schwartz defenses doing Jim Schwartz things
apuszczalowski replied to dezertbill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But those that are for Schwartz are that way because of what he did with the Bills defence 2 years ago, not about what he is doing in his first season with the eagles defence. Rex's defence isn't good here, and that's with many of the sme players that Schwartz was able to make work with here.
