  1. People are talking about him for the PS, I wasnt sure if he was eligible. Either way my point was that 1st round picks, let alone 1st round QBs are never available to go on a PS, teams rarely let them go and if they do, someone picks them up thinking they can tap the potential
  2. It's a 1st round draft pick QB, those arent usually sitting their available for a PS spot ....
  3. Why wouldn't they be looking at getting better linemen in if they felt the guys they have are so bad or need an upgrade? They dont think the line is that bad like fans do, they are looking for an additional QB to increase the experience in the room to more then a historically bad half of an NFL game He was a higher rated QB in his draft then the current starter on this roster, he was believed to have starter potential compared to tapping out as a backup
  4. They are cheap, and potentially give you the chance to get a highly talented player for little. They also make you look smarter when you hit on them. In some cases their your only way to get high level talent cause the guys without baggage have better options to sign to
  5. Yeah, no QB has ever benefited from having a veteran presence to learn from.
  6. Let's not pretend that he won this competition because he severely outplayed the competition, he was just the better of a crappy bunch. It appears that Allen was always destined to start the season on the bench and after McCaron got hurt it was Nates job because he didnt crap the bed. The Bill's QB "competition" was a battle over who was the tallest 'little person '
  7. Too late now, did you not watch the preseason? Nate is going to make Brady look like Leaf! And why would Dez sign here? Sitting out is probably a better option
  8. It means even less if no one is willing to sign either......
  9. Their 2 top guys haven't even had a chance to develop/be developed, why would they bring in another. They need a veteran QB backup in case things go wrong. Not another young inexperienced QB to try and "develop". They should have been going after one of the more experienced QBs available this offseason to start until Allen could take over instead of McCaron.
  10. I wouldn't be surprised if they start the season with AJ & Peterman 1&2 and Allen 3
  11. Apparently he was told they arent going to PS him either Another Bill's fan PS/TC Legend cast aside. Cue the "I'm done with this Front Office/He will be a HOFer on the Pat's!" Posts to follow
  12. Because sometimes those players with 'potential' do nothing to try and make something of their 'potential'. Colemans only upside was he was fast, he didnt seem to want to put in the work to do what needs to be done to make it in the league and expected teams to just give him the top spot cause he was fast.
  13. If they arent happy with EJ, why would they want AJ? Statistically EJ was alot better then AJ and possibly Peterman too who was the Bill's top QB statistically this preseason. The Raiders are looking to improve their backup QB, not downgrade the spot while taking less for Mack. As for AJ, in most cases playing the 4th game may be because the team needs one last look from you before cuts, but in AJs case it may have been that the Bill's wanted him to play the full game to get extra practice time in because he missed time with the collarbone issue. I think they have always intended to keep 3 QBs and have always known who they planned to start unless someone else blew them away by their performance and stole the job which hasnt really happened for either of them.
  14. Allen, he was beat out statistically by Peterman, BUST But very little is all the Bill's have at WR
  15. Except that Bridgewater isnt available anymore now that he's with the Saints.....
  16. He may not have done anything wrong, but that might also be because he hasnt really done anything at all. After his offseason 'incident' I wouldn't be surprised to see the team part ways with him. I just dont think it involves him getting cut. More likely Beane trades him for someone else's 'player who needs a change of scenery'. Its more likely Coleman gets cut and they eat the wasted pick they spent on him as he hasnt really done anything either, unless they see him as not showing much because he was still trying to learn the offence after being traded for late this offseason.
  17. He also did it playing with guys that will not be Bills in 5 days.... Depends, How did he win the Championship? Were they rolling with a lead all game? I'm sure winning the championship was fun, but many times rallying to come back from a huge deficit to win last minute can be more fun then just getting a win where you lead most of the game.
  18. I don't know, I think they are ready to move on from Schmidt and thats why they jumped on bringing him in, he is also Hauschkas buddy from Seattle which might help him. Did Newhouse play much after the first quarter? I wasn't paying much attention to him after that and thought he was taken out.
  19. Thats why I believe 'Tanking' is one of the biggest myths in sports. You are never going to convince a bunch of pro athletes to not go out and try to win, it can cost them Millions And Coaches and GMs don't have the life span in the leagues to keep waiting on next year and throw years away. Thats why its believable when Coaches and GMs say they expect to compete this season I'm leaning towards Allen getting named starter for week one only because I don't think the other 2 did anything to truly beat him out of the job like they had hoped. Peterman put up some good stats but I don't think he truly impressed to the point they seem him leading the team to wins. AJ had a great finish to tonights game after a horrible start and might feel he needs some time to sit and work with the team a bit more to get up to speed after missing some time. Allen has shown he can play but is going to make mistakes as part of the learning curve. I think the only reason he doesn't start is because they feel its best for him to learn from the bench, and if thats the case I think they list him as the #3 to start the year then move him up as the season progresses.
  20. And sadly still have the division wrapped up by Thanksgiving......
  21. I don't know if O'Leary gets cut, the coaches think highly of him, they refer to him as "dependable" Jones and Coleman could be on the bubble, I think if anything that Beane might be on the phones looking to deal Zay before they cut him though. I think they also go with 3 QBs, Although the stat line looks bad from today, AJ may have won a spot based off of the 4th quarter alone, The ability to bring a team back like he did (yes against scrubs, but he was also doing it with scrubs) is something teams look for in a leader. They could also look at the first half as being bad because he has had limited action this summer because of the injury. I think Schmidt is gone and they keep Ryan. Depending on Dabols offence, Dimarco could also be gone even though he didn't play today.
  22. And have some other phone numbers on speed dial........
  23. Yeah, what about the previous 59 minutes of the game?
  24. Did he play in this game?
