There was no need to dump Taylor if they wanted to keep a place holder that can allow Allen to sit on the bench to start the year. The fact that the people in charge of this franchise think that Peterman is an NFL QB is showing they may be in over their heads and not what people thought they were after last year. Taylor may not be the future, but he was a good enough place holder.

With a competent offence this defence wouldn't look so bad. -
Remember, the only way to move forward and rebuild after making the playoffs is to continue tearing it down and get worse....

Lol, so hows everyone going to spend their winnings?

It's a good thing this coaching staff and front office had so much faith in Peterman that they decided not to go after one of the more experienced QBs on the market and wait to get the steal of the offseason in AJ. Starting to question Allen seeing as how the same people in charge that thought so highly of him thought highly of Nate Peterman........ -

I would bet it all depends on if the heD bo causes the defence to move. They move it's a penalty, dont move they let them play. -

As it was said above, probably wouldn't matter, he would play on one leg to get to pad his stats against the Bill's online again.... -

There was no mention in what I quoted of the other players, it was only comparing QBs. It was about the spread changing based on the announcements of the starting QBs. -
I agree with the first part, starting Nate has more to do with the team wanting to take Allen slowly and not throw him in right away to start. It was always the knock on him in the draft, that he would need time before he started. No QB really wowed and ran away with the starting job in Preseason. Compared to the others, Nates stats were the best of the other 2, but they weren't stats that would blow anyone away and have anyone confident he could be a true starter in the league. As for the rest, I dont think that was really part of the decision. I dont see Nate starting for any other reason then they never intended Allen to start right away, and AJ got hurt and couldn't show enough in the Preseason to take the job. The original plan was that they were going to grab another QB to come in and start right away with the hope that Peterman could back them up and Allen could start the season as the #3 and then work his way up. But like usual, the front office didnt want to spend the money for someone more established and went after the cheaper guy with question Mark's hoping they could outsmart everyone and have a hidden gem that could later become trade bait. Unlike the rest of the world, this front office doesnt appear to believe the online is bad at all and they arent starting Peterman as a sacrificial lamb to get slaughtered by a porous line. If they thought the line was bad they would be actively scrambling around bringing in potential replacements for a look instead of giving them all the night off during the 4th preseason game Those guys threw that many INTs in a full game, double the amount of time Nate did it last year. One happens to be a fluke 5rh rounder who will go down as one of the greatest ever to play the game, the other was a high draft pick expected to be a franchise QB. They also play in offences known more for attempting 40+ passes a game and not a conservative run first offence that the Bill's have been running.

Except that stepping down from Wentz to Foles, the reigning SB MVP isnt like naming a 5th round pick starting his 2nd NFL season with about 2 games worth of experience in his NFL career and his first start resulting in a mercy pull at the half because he broke a league record for picks in a half. Doubt the line changes much no matter who starts for Buffalo considering they are both young inexperienced players with less than 2 total starts on the league between them -
The Lions could be good, but Patricia is unknown at this point as a head coach, as much as Darnold. Patricia could come out looking like Rex Ryan and Darnold like Brady or je could look like BB with Darnold looking like Manzel. BBs former coordinators haven't had good track records once they leave him and are on their own..... I think this game falls into the "too risky" category of a pick for a survivor/suicide pool pick in week 1

But most important, is it because they Knealt for the Anthems! -
My concern isnt about having faith in Darnold, I just think that they have improved a bit from last year and the Lions arent that great of a team that can be expected to not lose games they Re expected to win. I have the Lions to win in a pick'em pool this week, just wouldn't be confident enough to take them in a survivor pool just yet against the Jets. I never worry about what others are picking in a survivor pool cause it doesnt matter, you need to worry about yourself only cause a win is still the same whether the entire pool picked it or your the only one. If it comes down to picking between teams sometimes I will try and save some teams for later, but otherwise I just take whomever I feel has the best chance to win
-
I own the entire series BB but haven't had a chance to sit down and watch it yet too. I know things about the show and understand things that are going on in Saul though.
-
Good tip about divisional games, I find they typically end closer then most other games do against non divisional teams so i dont typically go with the spread if it's high for the favorite. But your also picking the Lions, a time that could resort to their usual bad selves and lose to a young Jets team....

Those QBs dont have their coaches telling them that because they are the top QBs in the league and rarely make stupid decisions on the field. The Jags know what they have at QB and run their offence accordingly. They dont take the chances cause they know they dont have a guy who is going to make the throw without worry. The top QBs have coaches that can call those plays because they know their guy can make the throw 9 times out of 10.
