  1. oops. Looks like I buried Pittsburgh a bit early. Forgot who they were playing for a second.
  2. Steelers: How the mighty have fallen. Maybe in a few years they'll be Buffalo wannabes, stealing our castoffs and remodeling their franchise in an effort to be more like us. #PoeticJustice
  3. I hate that he shaved the stache. Love the stache.
  4. Boobs is beast. We'll be just fine with him carrying the rock.
  5. Love the Bills uniforms now. All combinations are great. Glad no blue on blue, too. Hate that look. So happy the red helmets are gone, so happy the Donahoe clown suits are a thing of the past, and my only remaining wish would be a return to the classic standing buffalo logo...though I do like the charging one, too. I feel viscerally connected to our look...it's how the Bills should ALWAYS look. As far as mixing in home whites now and then...eh, I don't have a problem with that as a change of pace. Prefer the traditional blue over white as the baseline for home unis, tho.
  6. Betting public knows the Bills have dropped 4 straight in NY, and historically have had trouble beating the Jets on the road. Past two weeks the Jets played the Broncos tough and barely lost to NE on the road after Buffalo was blown out by the Pats at home. They also have the 9th ranked defense in the NFL. That tells me the public thinks the Jets are playing like a team capable of beating a Bills team that has by all accounts, including the head coach, looked shaky despite the 4-3 record.
  7. Jets are better than their 1-6 record indicates. Bills are a shaky 4-3 with a bad offensive line and entire backfield injured. Not surprised at all by the spread. Winning in NY is never easy for the Bills.
  8. I hate the way Orton keeps rallying the Bills to wins with clutch play. Hate how he's throwing the ball quickly, decisively and with accuracy. Hate how he's demonstrating strong field generalship, bailing out a sieve offensive line, and overcoming no running game. Really pissed about it, actually. What a mistake it was benching EJ for this guy.
  9. Once in Marrone's dog house, always in Marrone's dog house.
  10. Scary game because I loathe the Jets, and losing to them would ruin my entire weak. Jets still a tough out despite the 1-6 record, but we have the better team and a better QB. They are better coached. In the end, hope we got enough to win it, because losing would really set back our playoff chances. Huge game.
  11. Yeah, nothing sucks worse than a miraculous comeback win on the last play of the game.
  12. Skip Bayless? Nobody takes him seriously. He's a tabloid shock jock ranting the outrageous to get ratings attention.
  13. History says Pegula evaluates his 1st year, doesn't make sweeping changes. Marrone stays barring a 3-13 collapse.
  14. Clearly, Schopp must have a close relative with big $$ on the WGR executive board, because he is the absolute worst sports radio host I've ever heard. No other explanation for him having this gig.
  15. The league wants less hitting and more scoring. Penalties are the way they enforce this intention. Financially, owners don't like multi-million dollar contracts being paid to players on injured reserve, and they think Arena Football scoring is better for ratings. They also want to reduce the bad press that comes with stretchers and concussions. Goodell and the owners want the NFL more pink, less black and blue.
  16. That implies the NFL wants fewer pass interference calls. Quite the opposite. This was made clear in the summer meetings and preseason. What we see is what Goodell and company wants.
  17. Orton has been immensely more capable than EJ. We lost to NE because of terrible defense and terrible running game. Orton was literally all we had going for us, and he gave us a fighting chance until the Brady's final dagger TD bomb. Had EJ started we'd have been blown off the field.
  18. Should be a competitive match up, and a fork in the road game for both teams. Lose a winnable game like this and you can expect a long season ahead. Win it and you breathe new life into your season.
  19. The new pass interference enforcement is more damaging to the NFL than every strike, lockout, concussion and scandal combined. The very integrity of the game ON THE FIELD has been compromised. I can't stand it. Roger Goodell may be good at maximizing TV advertising revenue and franchise values, but between the powder puff football rule changes, his cover-up scandal with Ray Rice, his cover-up scandal with the Saints bounty, his scandals with screwing retired players out of medical benefits while covering up PCS, no commissioner in the history of the game has brought more harm to the integrity of the sport than he has.
  20. Detroit has one of the most ferocious defensive fronts in the NFL. Going into the game they were the top defense in the NFL in yds/game. Spiller was mostly used as an outside pitch-back, as he should be, but the Lions beat their blocks and had too much speed for that to work. It was a Freddy kinda day...pound inside between the creases and take what you can squeeze out of it. Spiller is great in space, but there was no space to be found. New England should turn out to be a much better day for him.
  21. To say the next time you start you're gonna be a man, let it rip and play without fear is effectively saying he played like a woman, didn't throw with authority and was scared. Pretty ugly indictment of himself. Don't think you can change that trait, either.
  22. These drunk party pics are making me like Orton a whole lot more. He is a perfect fit for the 716.
  23. Detroit is an outstanding team, loaded on offense and defense with elite talent. Now that they dumped the Schwartz and brought in a solid head coach I see them as Super Bowl contenders. Naturally, we picked up the Schwartz from the ash-heap of Detroit history and made him our DC. Still don't like that move, but he does know Detorit's personnel better than anyone and maybe that will help. Also helping the Bills is starting Orton at QB. Gives us a more competent, veteran presence at the most important position. The Lions are the better team. Period. Home field is a huge advantage for them, too. The Bills did get an extra shot in the arm seeing KC destroy NE Monday night, opening the division wide for the taking. Lions win 8 of 10, maybe 9 of 10 vs Buffalo in Detroit, but that's why they play the game. I'm going with the Lions 27-20, but am hoping we somehow sneak away with an upset.
  24. The Negativo Game Plan: Eliminate read option from the playbook. Eliminate shotgun draw from the playbook. Use Freddy on dives and screens, CJ on pitchouts and downfield throws. Make Chandler a bigger part of the offense, particularly on 3rd down. Clear out slants for Sammy. Use Mike Williams' size for endzone fades. Throw deep a few times early to push back the safeties to open up the running game and short passes. Mix in a moving pocket to defuse the blitz. Slow down the game. Huddle more. Go under center more. Work time of possession to give the D a rest. Only use no-huddle after hitting big plays to catch the defense off guard. Sling a play action deep ball on short yardage at some point. Attempt two trick plays...a flea flicker, fake punt, reverse pass, statue of liberty...something to change momentum, field position or get a quick score.
  25. Good to know. QBs tend to develop comfort zones with certain teams, struggle zones with others. Hopefully this translates into a good performance by Orton Sunday. Excited for the game. Detroit is an outstanding team, maybe a Super Bowl contender, and especially tough to beat at home. Not expecting a win, but if we can somehow sneak out of there with one it would make a statement that we're the team to beat in the AFC Least.
