  1. With all do disrespect, Tim Graham is far more sports tabloid reporter than legitimate journalist. He gathers sketchy sourcing and twists their original context into sensationalist headlines, tweets or columns to excite controversy...accuracy be damned. He'd be a much better fit at TMZ than TBN.
  2. Chaos reigns supreme at One Bills Drive. Starting to think my 6-10 prediction was too optimistic. This is bad. Real bad. If the cracks in the foundation are already this deep and the season hasn't started, wait until the walls come crumbling down if the Bills get off to a bad start. The real tragedy in all this is Whaley gave away our top pick the year of Winston. If this volatile situation implodes, and it very well might, and the Bills lost out on the REAL greatest prospect of the generation because of Whaley's desperation leap for Sammy, it will be a real tragedy for this franchise.
  3. Best possible news. Still, cancer is an insidious disease that may escape detection after treatments, but has a very bad habit of returning. May Jim be blessed to never see this beast again.
  4. Why would anyone suggest that cutting 3 backup quarterbacks and signing a $5 million journeyman the week of the season opener is a sign of panic? Why would anyone suggest EJ's awful preseason following his poor rookie campaign has management and players fearful he will bust? As Kevin Bacon would say at the Faber College parade, "Move along. All is well. Nothing to see here."
  5. Jerry gonna be even more pissed when T-Peg buys the Bills and keeps them in Buffalo. Anything that pisses that a$$ clown off makes me happy.
  6. Love it. Carucci is one of my all time favorites. Just wish he were replacing Graham instead of Gaughan.
  7. Nothing beats a multi-page "I'm a bigger fan than you are. Nanny-nanny-boo-boo." lol
  8. In college he showed dynamic play-making ability, but also some injury problems and character questions stemming from a drug arrest in 2012 that led to a suspension. More Percy Harvin than Calvin Johnson in talent and build. My take: A desperation reach by a panicked GM hoping for a miracle. With much bigger holes to fill at secondary, linebacker, offensive line and tight end, plus huge questions at QB, giving away the 2015 #1 for Watkins may prove to be a damaging blow for a mediocre team mired in perpetual rebuild.
  9. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
  10. To put it in Jewish high holiday terms, with the EJ bust Whaley's fate was written. On the Watkins fiasco it was sealed. Dude is dead man walking.
  11. Week 5, unless EJ gets injured first...which is a real possibility. Over/Under on Tuel starting? Week 12. Orton should be KO'ed by then.
  12. Eh, I don't believe you can transfer NFL allegiances. At least not passionate ones. One can become indifferent to the team who lets you down for decades, and find some vicarious pleasure in another winning in a way you respect, but being a fan is about your own history and experiences following the team more than anything else. Allegiance to childhood memories and your hometown are non-transferable. I think many of us who have become apathetic over the years (me included) are more likely lying dormant awaiting the return to glory. Lone exception: If the team leaves town it's over. Done. Deal breaker. Fortunately, it looks like that won't be the case.
  13. Live in South Florida, and have been for many years. Back in the Super Bowl era I Iived in Tampa and grew a bit fond of the Bucs, but not personally invested. Miami was still the bitter enemy then, and remained so when I moved to Ft Lauderdale before the 2000 season. However, after almost 15 years of ineptitude from Buffalo, and almost as many for the Dolphins, I honestly have become NFL apathetic. I am not nearly as emotionally invested in the Bills as I had been back in the day, but, rather, resigned to their perpetual doormat status. I don't get crap here anymore from Dolphin fans, just commiseration of our mutual plight. This year is the first time in years I've posted on the message board. In the meantime, I missed more games than I watched and haven't lost sleep over a loss in many years. Age I'm sure has something to do with it (47 now), but being out of the area also helps with becoming desensitized to the losing. The reason I'm back now to comment: The ending of the treasonous Toronto abortion, and the prospects of Pegula buying the team and committing long term to the 716. Undoing a wrong and giving hope to the future. In the present, however, I see no reason for optimism...and I really don't care if the Bills stans on the board attack me for not "Billieving" enough. Have at it, kids. To summarize: As long as the team stays in Buffalo and has a future owner to believe in I'm happy. Cheers to the future.
  14. Orton was beat out in Denver by Tebow [and thoroughly outplayed by Tebow], so naturally the Bills sign Orton as backup because there's no upside to threaten the prized Jewel that is EJ Manuel.
  15. Disappointed? Nah. That would require having high expectations to begin with. To paraphrase Dennis Green, "He is who I thought he was."
  16. EJ Manuel NFL Stats: Att: 306 Comp: 180 Yds: 1,972 TDs: 11 INTs: 9 Rushes: 53 Yds: 186 TDs: 2 Tim Tebow NFL Stats: Att: 361 Comp: 173 Yds: 2,422 TDs: 17 INTs: 9 Rushes: 197 Yds: 989 TDs: 12 One QB throws a great long ball, one checks down for dump offs. One QB runs like a raging bull, the other like a deer in the headlights. One QB is great in the clutch, the other non-existent. One QB takes personal responsibility, the other makes excuses. One QB never misses a game to injury, the other regularly sits out games due to injury. One QB has won at every level, the other mediocre at every level. One QB has scored 29 NFL TDs, the other 13. You make the call.
  17. The QB situation is in shambles. It's time to bring in a guy who is great in the clutch, brings excitement, works hard, has character, demonstrates leadership, has a warrior's grit, won a playoff game, won a national championship and won a Heisman trophy.
  18. The Bills are at least now good enough to lose in new and creative ways that make us want to vomit. I'll take a nice, healthy, good-old-fashioned jinx that haunts all Buffalo sports over a Donahoe/Mularkey pile of crap that I can't even root for. So Jauron blew every call in the last minute: refusing to run the ball to win the game on the ground and then refused to kick the field goal to win the game. Losing mind-boggling, heartbreaking, WTF kind of games is a pleasure compared to what we had before. I say, bring on the curse and at least let me die watching this fun team come close with no cigar!
  19. Oh, and don't forget the sugar and spice and everything nice! Kumbaya.
  20. True. He barely tucked it between the uprights but he had plenty to spare on distance. Bottom line: if some of the people who post here are pussies that won't say what needs to be said I could care less. I'll say it: Juron and company blew the final minute, period.
