Think Shady is not smiling ear to ear right now?
Taro T replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would expect them to grab an OL somewhere in round 2-4 & then a couple more late rounders to head to the PS. -
The Deep State War Heats Up
Taro T replied to Deranged Rhino's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
IF that turns out to be true, your job just got easier as pretty much any wild idea you Hollywood guys come up with gains significant plausibility. Would be good if it turns out to be true, as it would put the white hats in a significantly superior position relative to the black hats. Don't know how it turns out, but the next couple of months should be interesting at any rate. -
The "National Emergency" Thread

Definitely can create other problems/ issues, but have to believe that there'd be demand for a site that truly plays (or at least truly tries to play) it straight (like Twitter, Google, & the like seem(ed) to do). -

Thing is, if they continue down the path towards throttling certain points of view, a competitor will fill their niche. Kind of surprised the competitors aren't doing better yet. (Says the guy who doesn't work the twitter well at all.) -

That thread is still there. It was renamed "Trump the Divider." -
Is this the most active Bills free agency period ever?
Taro T replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kind of nice not having people wringing their hands over whether or not the Bills will be getting compensatory picks. Pretty sure there's not a chance in heck that they will. Which is fine. Still hoping to see 1 or 2 more signings. -
G Jon Feliciano (Raiders) to the Bills

So, pretty much all the holes in the OL last year (including coach) have been upgraded already. Cool. -

Well, to be fair, the Chinese Muslims are THE worst of the bunch. ?

That's strictly between her & the guy that turned down the beer in her video. As well it should be.

1st off, never said she has to answer anything. But she supposedly was seen out in public & in relatively good health (considering her age and having survived cancer surgery 2 months prior) a couple of days prior to the SotU address. For some reason, she didn't seem to find attending that to be worthy of her. Which is all within her perogative but does raise questions. But, when an octogenarian that just had cancer surgery goes completely off the grid (minus apparently a single public appearance of which there has been no corroborating evidence presented), questioning whether her competence might be compromised isn't outlandish nor evil. Was she at the SC last week or today? The court's winter break is now over. If she is back on the job, either at the court or wherever she is recovering, the citizens deserve to know. If she isn't, we deserve to know when she's anticipated to return to duty. And should she appear in public & be ok, questions go away. And it will be a 'good for her' moment. Hopefully she is ok.
-
It's true. She MIGHT be as mentally acute now as she was prior to her surgery. There's even media reports of her being seen in a very public forum just a few weeks ago. Though there is no video/photographic evidence of it that has been publicly released. IF she really is still competent to be on the Supreme Court, why not just appear in public & dispel the rumors?

The "National Emergency" Thread

Congress hasn't done its job in at least 12 years. Would agree he'd like them to do it, don't expect them to though. -

Would agree with the bolded. And agree that what's going on goes beyond Trump. Hoping that he is playing 4D chess. Just having a hard time reconciling/deciding how much he is & how much of it is hopeful thinking. Especially when, for something like reining in executive emergency powers, to start there needs to be good legislation emanating from a chamber led by a woman that doesn't realize natural gas is a fossil fuel. -
The "National Emergency" Thread
Taro T replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It does seem that way as that's the one way that this National Emergency declaration doesn't come across as full out foolish. There already are monies available to tap into (that apparently are already being tapped into) for the wall & this sets a bad precedent for future Presidents to simply ignore Congress. But if this spurs Congress to rewrite some laws to put actual limits on the ability they've given Presidents to declare emergencies it's a step back towards rebalancing the powers of the legislative & executive branches; that would be a very good thing. And an actual win. Still not sold that 45 is THAT good at 4D chess. -
1.4MM people starved to death under Trump!?!?!?! That IS the only way to stop using food stamps, right?

IF she really is in reasonably good health & did go to the concert, why go to that rather than the SotU?
