  1. You didn't like Howard, Frank, and Dandy Don?
  2. He could probably make an awesome roadkill retatta.
  3. Shula hired at least 1 of his kids down in Miami and Wade worked for Bum when he was starting out. I'd expect there are a few others.
  4. For his time, his offensive stats as a SS were amazing. And he was solid defensively. I've got no issues with him getting into the HoF.
  5. Yes they are. They have several contracts coming off the books next year and a billionaire owner that could send a contract or 3 to the minors if necessary to make a great deal today. It doesn't take long at all to get out of cap jail when you've got a loaded owner that wants to win.
  6. Just as long as you don't cheer any of his 1,000+ yards and 9 or so TD catches next year or beyond, that sounds reasonable.
  7. What percentage of those in OWS are saying that they worked their butt off? Any guess as to what percentage of those are delusional, smoking some really good stuff, or both? Of those few that aren't delusional nor smoking some really good stuff, what percentage worked their butt off earning a degree in such high demand fields as women's studies and the like?
  8. Now, assuming that your guess is correct (which it is, btw), take the next step and think about why someone (especially someone like Holder) might oppose that law.
  9. I'd go with the fall of the Berlin Wall. As a close second, I'd go w/ Iraq invading Kuwait. (Though for me personally, clearly my birth is the most historically significant event.)
  10. Well, in fairness to the town, being forced to see a bit of a pile of firewood every single day is truly a quality of life issue and probably runs up the citizenry's therapist and prozac bills to unreasonable levels. The dog, well, you start letting people have unregistered (as resident to your town) dogs running around and then soon nobody is complying with supplying the sample of doggy DNA necessary to cross reference and indentify which dog left the 'presents' that inevitably get left behind; again, creating a true quality of life issue and running up therapist and prozac bills. The accident; well, that isn't an everyday eyesore and they have maintenance crews to clean up the debris and doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff that need to stay employed, so the guy that ran the red light was actually providing a benefit to society as a whole; your wife and the other person's misfortune notwithstanding. PS - Hope your wife's recovery from the accident was complete.
  11. That's a smidge excessive. In the town next to mine, people can't have RV's, boats, etc. in their "front yards." A friend of mine owns ~10 acres with a dirt path into the back of his land. The town got on his case because he had an RV about 50' down this path. With the trees and brush around it, you could barely even see the thing from the road. So he started 'working' on his house. He's had scaffolding up around it for the past 2 years. I'd guess he'll finish the product sometime in the next century.
  12. You still live close enough to see the Pentagon? Even if you are, that's a TAD excessive. Or do they really expect a bunch of 12 year olds to be able to down a plane? Have they banned radio controlled planes also?
  13. Can't forget model rockets and b-b guns. Throw those in and it probably ups to 3.5 times.
  14. Of course nowadays in the States, you have to have the young ones in child/booster seats, everyone needs a seat belt, and there are probably states where you can't have the kid in the front seat until he's x height or y years of age. (No data on how it is up in Canuckland, but I'd expect it to be similar.) If the kids are young enough, I could definitely see something with an extra rear seat being necessary to cart around the entire brood. Back in the good old days, you could easily fit 4 or 5 kids and 2 adults in a midsized sedan. If you had a pickup truck, you could bring the kids' whole team with you.
  15. I was comparing your hero to James Earl Carter, Jr..
  16. AFAIK, there is no good historical dataset geared towards goalies and concussions. The NHL is trying to learn more about their impacts on all aspects of the game as we speak. They still don't have a particularly good dataset for players in general. The fact that there are only 2 goalies on a team and 18-21 skaters on the roster limit the amount of data available.
  17. jw, Nice post and a very succint summation of where the Bills appear to hopefully be heading. No shame in rooting for them, but damn if there isn't frustration galore.
  18. Or you would think they're assuming the game is blacked out for the locals and find life is easier blacking out the phone version. Do the regular ads show up on the phone version of the game? If not, that's the easy explanation.
  19. Pooj, I WANT to like the show, they've got Barbie from 1 day at a time and Sue Ann from MTM Show and Wendie Mallick (sp?) and Jane Leeves who are all very good actresses; but unfortunately they spent all their money on cast and have interns writing the scripts. I don't care how good the actors/actresses are, if the lines are crap there's not much they can do to fix them.
  20. RJD - The Last In Line.
  21. Might you not be giving him too much credit? I'd say he's more Carter 1.1.
  22. Quite possibly that's what he was saying about his opponent for his 1st election campaign riding on JFK's ghost's legacy. What was he saying for his second campaign? Wasn't that more of Duran's 'no mas, no mas?'
  23. Isn't that what the Carter folks were saying about Reagan?
  24. With God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly. - Arthur 'Big Guy' Carlson
  25. 61 calls or texts to OR from his phone. If they're relatively evenly split, then yeah there's some smoke there. If they're more 1 sided, then maybe 1 of them's a stalker. And 61 calls/texts over 120 days isn't exactly the 'can't stop thinking 'bout you' mode.
