  1. Though my wife is rooting for Briere (she's not from Buffalo, so she just doesn't understand), I'd rather poke my eye out with a #2 Ticonderoga than cheer for the Phlyers.
  2. I don't see how that would be surprising. She makes her living being the mean kid in homeroom in a very controlled setting.
  3. Well, as your trip regresses to the mean, eventually it will only take you 3.5 hours to get home.
  4. I had a meeting at the Radisson that ended ~9:30AM today, so I ran an errand and stopped by Mighty at ~10:03. There were already 12 people there ahead of me. Most ordering ~5 Super Packs. It seems people here are looking at it like when the Krispy Kreme opened.
  5. Maybe out of fear that his Secret Cervix Agent wouldn't remain 'secret?'
  6. Isn't it also a fact that 'some' still believe the world is flat? What exactly is your point? As for your last statement, I do believe people waited to blame President Obama for his performance until after he'd been in office long enough to have had enough accomplishments to have earned a Nobel Peace Prize.
  7. They definitely have their groupies, but I don't see that being much different than what you'll find anywhere else. Some of what you see as 'patron saint' treatment, others might view as the 'grown ups' over there deciding to 'let the old weird uncle ramble, and ignore him unless it looks like he'll hurt himself.'
  8. Well, if the quote had been "Ultimately, I’m confident hoping that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented extraordinary step of overturning a law with this many pages in it that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected congress democrats" he would have at least been truthful. What he actually said is a whopper even by politician standards.
  9. What makes you think that President Obama and his crew will 'actively seek to clarify, explain, ...' ANYTHING? He's had over 2-1/2 years to clarify and explain Obamacare since it passed. He hasn't attempted to do it yet. And '(n)obody expects the Dems to lose the Senate?' Really? Noone expects the Senate to flip with the preponderance of seats up for grab having a 'D' attached to them? Any more gems, Keith?
  10. There was some discussion about it in the 'Leftist Hatchet Job Fails' thread. It is impressive the way he keeps burning bridges.
  11. And the rest of that joke (paraphrasing here): the next time I am in a Subway I will order a steak sub and tell them it should be free because it is for a duck AND he wants Sunchips with it. Another favorite joke was 'I'm a comedian and spend a lot of time on the road; when I'm in a hotel room I come up with thoughts I think are funny, but if I am too far away to grab a pencil I must convince myself the joke wasn't funny.' And the last one: 'they say the ingredients in Sprite are lemon and lime. I've tried to make it and there must be more to it. Do you want some of my homemade Sprite? Not until you figure out what else is in it.' Sorry for not getting the words exactly right. But you get the jist.
  12. If it doesn't win, it was clearly a fix. Far and away the greatest candy ever made.
  13. There is still a bit left in the gray as to what actually precipitated the confrontation and how it actually went down. It's good to know that it would take you '3 seconds to indict him;' are you counting those 3 seconds from when he'd walk in the courtroom or from when Al Sharpton gave his 1st speech regarding the incident? You sure as **** have not given an impression that you'd wait to hear evidence from both sides to reach that decision. Hopefully you would wait at least another 2 seconds to convict him, but that might be asking a bit much.
  14. What happened to dayman's entertaining response to DCTom's post?
  15. Which part of '(d)idn't say that it would have made national news' was the part that implied it would have been national news? My comment was directly related to the quality of reporting in general. Thus, the comment 'but see no reason to think that any reporting this story got wouldn't have been derelict even without the racial tones' in my prior post which Rob was referring to. I'm not certain what portion of that statement implies that the story would have been national either. Unless somehow a reference to a paper such as the 'Sanford Bee' rather than such minor operations like the Orlando Sentinel or USA Today would connote a national presence.
  16. Didn't say that it would have made national news. But do you have any reason to believe that even if this only ended up in the Sanford Bee Police Blotter the reporting wouldn't have been derelict?
  17. I'll grant you the 1st 2, but see no reason to think that any reporting this story got wouldn't have been derelict even without the racial tones.
  18. Disregarding the question of how Sontomayer and Kagan rewrite the law to salvage parts of it; how exactly do they end up salvaging part of a law that doesn't have a severability clause?
  19. Is that like the Frank Gorshin character from Star Trek?
  20. Well, with them going back to a 4-3, having to cut some guys at the D-line that they really don't want to part with is a great thing. Them trying to force DE's into OLB slots the past 2 years, not so much.
  21. You have seen Nancy Pelosi, right?
  22. Even when ground up and in the freezer?
  23. Not sure how he converts an independent run at the WH into a cabinet post. There are too many young up & comers in the GOP to believe that Roemer will ever make a strong run. And even if he switches back to having a 'D' before his name, I don't see him gaining much traction from that side of the aisle. He ticked off too many power brokers back in Red Stick to believe he could ever get elected back to statewide office much less national office. Throw in his lack of name recognition outside of the Pelican State and I just don't see him as a major player even 8 years from now.
