  1. And if the refs don't call Bruce for the phantom facemask on Boomer, the drive that he gets injured on ends ~5 plays before the injury. The streak lasting this long is simply karma biting the Tigers in the bippy.
  2. A fleur-de-lis may represent Na'Orlins, but it doesn't state Na'Orlins. A star may represent the Randy Quaid state, but it doesn't state Dallas. The Texans Texas cow thing might bring up Houston, but it doesn't state Houston. The Browns brown boring helmet might bring up Cleveland, but ... well nevermind, you might have a point with that one. A buffalo pretty much states Buffalo. That's part of it, but I've been told anecdotally that it also refers to the myriad of Williams (Bills) living in WNY. Not sure if it's true, but I know there's at least 2 in my immediate family.
  3. Then good for him. And I hope his dad's cancer was caught early enough that he will have a full recovery from it.
  4. OK, I get the greater media interest and likely more advertising revenue as more people watch on YES (or ESPN or whatever channel the games are on). But don't the Yanks sell out most of their regular season games and all of their playoff games? If so, how does a series against the Sox generate greater attendance? If not, what the !@#$ is wrong with the Yankee fans that in a metropolitan population of ~11MM, they can't sell out Yankee Stadium without the Sox coming to town?
  5. So who'd David Nelson piss off that he's a part of this extravaganza?
  6. Dogmatically keeping a tight end off the roster because 'you don't use a TE in a run & shoot' keep Pardee's Eulers from ever getting over the top. Because not having at least 1 on the roster for goal line situations cost them a lot of points. I'd be surprised if Nix & Gailey would be willing to make the same type of mistake. Corey's great in short yardage blocking and on ST's. I see him being here a long time if he wants to be. Back to OP, thanks for dropping in. Best of luck to Corey.
  7. Shouldn't that be $50,005? I mean, they DID throw in the bobblehead. Well, maybe it should be $49,995; they DID throw in the bobblehead.
  8. It might have been more entertaining had he responded 'we already do have a flat income tax in Fla, it's 0% across the board.'
  9. As one of the posters (Between the Pipes) over on Scott's other board pointed out, since the 10 year anniversary (9/23/01) of Drew Bledsoe much he was traded to the Bills's injury all sorts of bad things have been happening to beantown. Could it be the deal they worked out with the devil had a 10 year expiration date on it? Don't know for certain, but if the Cheatriots lose in Oakland this weekend there just might be something to it. Also, though I don't normally enjoy listening to Sully on GR nor reading his columns, there might be a certain amount of schadenfreude found with his next rantings as he is a huge BoSox fan.
  10. Couldn't agree more. The Bills holding all 3 of those teams to 110-130 yards on the ground apiece is a tremendous stat. (Holding KC to it won't look that impressive by the end of the year with their RB out for 14 games but it was impressive as well.) I also think that the yardage and points put up against Oakland will look a lot more impressive by the time the season is done. If the Bills win this Sunday, and I expect them to win, I'm revising my prediction from 6-10 to 10-6 at a minimum. I'm really looking forward to this game to see how Chan gets them to prepare for a game they SHOULD win. I'm expecting him and the team to pass the test. These guys were entertaining to watch last year, now they're winning and entertaining. It's a good combination. If they can stay healthy that should continue.
  11. Assuming this is sarcasm, if not, is that you Mrs. Jauron? Jauron is a good coach for very bad football teams. His extremely conservative gameplans give bad teams a chance to keep the game close against most opponents. He can get 3-13 teams up to 6-10 (7-9 even). But his poor gameday decision making and his conservative gameplans do not allow good teams to get past mediocre (without a ton of breaks falling his way). 7-9 with extremely non-entertaining games for the most part is his legacy.
  12. We have a winner. Elmo's in Getzville are solid as well.
  13. There are a ton of differences between '08 & '11. As someone else mentioned earlier one of the biggest is no Dick !@#$ing Jauron. Another big one is having a front office with a plan that follows the plan. That combination leads to many of the other differences.
  14. After a replay that overturns a call, the conditions revert to what they would have been without the missed call. Had they ruled Freddie down at the 1, the clock would have run off :40 so that's what it should have been set to.
  15. The past few years, it seemed like the Bills were due to give up ~10 long runs per game, at least 5 of which came after a missed tackle. This year there've been a handful of long runs but there have been very few broken tackles. I'm ecstatic about how well the run D has played. Looking forward to seeing how the D does this weekend against a team without a top rushing / overall attack.
  16. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Belicheat was arguing that the playclock should be set at 25 when they started it up rather than the standard 40 due to the official's timeout. When he realized it would be set at 40, he took the timeout.
  17. When I read the title to this thread I thought you were talking about the amputee soldier that died at Darien Lake this summer riding the Man of Steel.
  18. Without 'know(ing) the details of the case' the only item on that list that 'makes the state of Georgia look pretty backwards' is that former President Jimmy Carter was former Georgia Governor Jimmy Carter prior to becoming former President Jimmy Carter.
  19. "The mean photographer wouldn't make everybody 'say cheese' until I stopped doing the bunny ear thing to Ahmadinejad."
  20. While that would have made more sense, aussiebills did get Berman's quote correct.
  21. And if those damn Republican Indians would have just given him a bit more time to implement it, he'd've been successful w/ it too.
  22. Until it is shown that the Republicans will nominate a viable candidate, the Prez has a realistic shot of getting re-elected. If they nominate Bachmann or another candidate w/ 0 executive experience, a re-election becomes very possible. If Christie were to run w/ Rubio as his running mate, Mr. Obama could be looking at a Mondale-like showing.
  23. The sun came up this morning as well. Some things can be safely relied upon to occur more or less daily, the bolded is one of them.
  24. They are available. They were disk 2 of the "Widescreen Limited Edition" DVD's of the enhanced versions of those movies. The problem is, they're not at the same quality level as the enhanced versions (letterboxed to a standard TV picture and Dolby 2.0 - basically they're digital copies of those VHS releases so the quality is far higher than VHS, but it should be higher quality than it is).
  25. Didn't he call them Ewoks? Hadn't heard that about Sir Alec, but I did hear that Harrison Ford wanted Han killed off in Episode VI and Lucas would hear nothing of it.
