Im not one to dive into a list of possibly available players, but someone would come here for the same reason they sign anywhere... $$$ Reinhart will get a new deal this summer. Dahlin can, but that wouldn’t go into effect until 2011-2012. His cap figure and salary are locked in for next season.

Long story short, there are a lot of open roster spots and plenty of cap space to fill them. It’s not the amount of space that you can go on a crazy shopping spree, but it’s more than enough to put together a decent roster if done properly.

I don’t really know how the contracts work, whether or not it can be converted into an NHL deal. If he needs a new contract to be in the NHL full time, they need to terminate the old one anyway (if it had any term remaining after this year). I think we need to just let the dust settle a bit on this one. My guess is that some of the people fired will be back when the season rolls around.

I wouldn't be surprised if Taylor winds up on the NHL staff instead. That firing really feels like a formality in all of this.

Amen to that. This is the biggest red flag I have with Krueger. I don't blame him for trying, but once it failed, he should have adjusted.

Would anyone even recognize experience in the assistant GM role? I know I couldn't tell you anyone in that role anywhere along the league. And then there's Greeley who was passed over for Adams. He was getting interviews over the last couple years and it sounded like he was and up and comer. Is he going to be out too?

They haven't used the interim label on this just yet, but it has to be a transitional thing. It makes me wonder if they're just playing out that one year left on Botterill's contract.

I'd imagine they're splitting it evenly between all 31 because it would be a tough pill to swallow for those 7 teams to lose the remainder of their season and then get nothing back at the end. All those players are going to get their portion, so the teams will need it too, particularly the Ottawas of the world who aren't exactly swimming in cash lately.

I'm all for following Arttu closer as well, since we in fact know he has a contract with the Sabres. My big question mark with older Olofsson is that at his age he's already at his ceiling. I don't see someone worthy of an NHL two-way contract. Now if it's an AHL only deal, I'm all for it.

While low profile, Victor was a highly regarded prospect compared to him. Remember he's been within the Sabre system for 6 years now. And the brothers have never played pro hockey together, so they weren't scouting the two at the same time. I have a hard time seeing Victor as the kind of guy who would have any leverage to pull they "sign my brother or I leave" game. If it's just a deal with Rochester, then it makes much more sense to me. But anyway, I'm going to continue to be skeptical of this report until I see more than one source. At this point, that probably means that the Sabres have to announce the signing, because it's not really a story anyone is going to bother putting much work into.

If this report is even accurate, this looks like the kind of guy who would be signing an AHL contract. I just wonder how legit it is given that everything falls back to this one Swedish source. You know how things go with these translations sometimes.
