  1. I can't remember a time where we drafted a guy who was described as the best pure goal scorer in the draft. That part is very intriguing, something that is lacking pretty much anywhere in this organization. The only thing that makes me nervous is that I tend to shy away from the late bloomers in these drafts. One complaint I saw somewhere was that they didn't get anything that helps this team in 2021. That wasn't happening no matter who they took. That suggests that people may have wanted to trade it, but look how that entire round played out yesterday. That option wasn't happening either. Best case scenario, short term anyway, is that I want to see this kid lighting up the AHL in 2021-2022 (I believe he'll be old enough, too lazy to look that up). There was no Cozens on the board this year, a guy we're hoping will contribute one year post-draft.
  2. I’m slightly disturbed because this was my immediate thought too.
  3. This draft coverage is a bit ridiculous. The panel’s “speculation” on the pick is always right. They need to stop pretending they don’t already know who the pick is.
  4. Crap. I just randomly turned some Van Halen on here in my office, two songs into the random shuffle and then I see this thread.
  5. I feel like I've heard the league (or maybe it was TSN) state that as a target date, but I could very well be making that up. That timeline makes sense.
  6. His posts (and a few others) make me wish any post with pictures/videos only appeared in a clickable form. Sure, you get Peter Panned a few more times than you'd like, but you have a little more control over what crap you actually have to see. Sure, you can throw someone on the ignore list, but you still wind up seeing it if quoted.
  7. This is so strange right now. The season should be starting right now, but instead we have the draft this week. Has the CHL said anything yet about their plans on when they'll play? I'm still trying to figure out how that will factor into the transfer agreement and guys like Cozens and any potential pick this year being able to play in the NHL.
  8. There's a couple that rides through my neighborhood each day, the husband on a moped and the wife on one of those rascal style scooters that you would see in a supermarket. There has to be some crazy modifications to the latter because she has to be moving at around at least 20 mph on the thing. You could get one of those things.😁
  9. Their next step will be to ask for the grand jurors to be identified. So yeah, you're right.
  10. He's going to look very good playing behind a guy like Eichel. That and at this stage, he may be playing for one last contract (even if it's just one more year). I bet his numbers go up a bit this year.
  11. A bear came a wedding shower at my in-law's house. It walked right through the back yard (mountains of New Hampshire) while the party was inside. I have a really crappy picture of it playing with the swing set.
  12. I wonder how much might pop up in other cities too. My wife's going to be in Raleigh tonight and I'm not too crazy about it at the moment.
  13. When I heard ricin I just assumed Walter White. As it turns out, it probably wouldn't take all that much photoshopping to turn that picture into him.
  14. Beer and fire pit last night. Bring on more!
  15. The weather we have right now in NC? This needs to stick around permanently.
  16. I wonder if Parise has any interest in leaving though. He has a no movement clause so he needs to agree to it. He's another one in the seemingly long list of guys who want to return home and play in Minnesota. But hey, while we're on that note... Hey Bill, I hear that Kyle Okposo would love to go home too.
  17. Minnesota must have something more in the works because they're starting to look Buffalo thin up the middle. Right now it's a mediocre Rask and a bunch of kids (oh, and the huge question marks on hometown boy Bjugstad).
  18. It's good for at least netflix or some other streaming services, depending on what you use.
  19. Johansson was the kind of guy I wanted to see in a playoff game. You have to actually get there though. This deal looks like a good one, a one-for-one deal exchanging a guy you don't particularly need and strengthening your weakest position. We added the more productive player, with both guys a year away from UFA, and somehow actually lowered our cap figure. If this had been a pick or a prospect I would have been a bit more skeptical, but I can't see anything here to question. On it's own, yeah, it doesn't mean all that much. Hopefully Adams has a few more things up his sleeve, more than just re-signing a bunch of the pending free agents. Obviously they have to do something with so few guys currently under contract.
  20. Does he plan on getting rid of the PS4? As long as he's not selling off that machine (will there be much value there?), he can still use that one too. I have a PS2, 3, and 4 hooked up in different spots in my house.
  21. That's not really the question though. It's the COVID question. If school is open, but everyone is remote, are those school zones still in effect? I guess I might as well be asking about a tree falling in the woods with no one around. I could see a technicality being used to argue either direction on this one. But then again, if the school in question was actually open with students, that settles this question.
  22. I'm not really sure on why a thread about whether or not to contest a speeding ticket has to turn into this garbage.
  23. That trailer probably gives a good idea of how the character mentioned earlier in this thread will come into play.
  24. Now if school's open but it's 100% remote, are those lights still blinking? I've always assumed those lights were pre-programmed to blink on those weekdays, but maybe that's not the case. I have a school zone pretty much right up the street that I'm driving through a lot. Their lights are blinking, but right now there are zero kids. The police station is also on the same road, so I'm sure there's more than enough opportunities to pull people over. I'm mostly thinking out loud here, but I have no idea whether or not they could hold people to that school zone speed right now.
  25. Is the school even open? I'm not sure whether or not that matters, but I'm curious.
