Just to throw in another view point. Poz has been playing well. Yesterday was not one of his better games, but if you were looking at replays and singling him out on live action plays, you should have also noticed he drew a lot of attention from the Steelers' lineman, etc. This says more about the weakness of our OLB's. and DL that are supposed to help keep them off the LB's, and actually gives Poz credit as being the guy they wanted to focus on. Hate to invoke some rational thought here during a rip fest. We do agree it wasn't one of his better games though. I'm just saying......

Steve Johnson Should Not Blame God
Spiderweb replied to NaPolian8693's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess, if you're a believer, that the gifts God bestowed on him that led to his even having a chance to catch or drop a ball in the NFL mean nothing. Stevie, you have a tremendous amount to be thankful for. One would hope that your tweet was merely an act of an emotionally upset individual who will soon see and appreciate the many gifts he has been given. Yet, with today's "it's all about me" society, one can easily see it spilling over into one's religious beliefs and practices. -
Steve Johnson Should Not Blame God

"Fictional", well I guess that describes your beliefs. Some may find this very offensive. -
Now there's a man of true genius.......

The Vikings are going to run down our throat.
Spiderweb replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a big hope, not that he's hurt badly, but just enough that he won't be able to go this week. -
While I have also noted often that Fitz accuracy is an issue, yet the tip ball for a pick was a catchable ball. Great throw mo, but it wasn't way behind, or too far in front, over over his head, or thrown into the ground. The WR must make that play in the RZ. Sadly, Johnson didn't today. I have loved what Johnson has done lately, but the cold hard truth is that he sucked today. Fitz hurt the Bills with picks against The Raven (2 late picks), against the Chiefs (late), and late against the Bears, yet today's was on Johnson who has to make that play.
-
You're beating a dead horse. Most simply wanted some value for him. There were only a very few staunch defenders of Lynch.
-
The throw was high, but Johnson didn't have to leap, and as you said, that catch has to be made. Alas.....

Official McKelvin Discussion Thread
Spiderweb replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. Yet, McKelvin saw daylight and exploded. Had he simply didn't accommodate room enough for Moats. As for protecting the ball? Isn't that what earned McKelvin some yard word, free of charge previously? Your dead on with respect to ball security. -

That one was infuriating, yet the replay simply showed that McKelvin saw that he was gone and didn't give Moats a chance to make his block and get out of the way. -
Jeez, I feel like I'm thinking like ICE, and while I have tremendous empathy for Johnson and his manning up for the interview, the story of today's game is simply that the joke was on the Joker.. He had a horrible day, admits to it, seems sincere in his disappointment. Good, he should. Now go forward and get back to the play that has brought many good things to the offense this year. Even the great Jerry Rice suffered from bad drops his first year or two.

Official Steve Johnson Love and Support Thread

Hummmm. It's simply factual Miss Harriet. He has played great, but today he sucked. Maybe I would have too but I wasn't in the game. I'll refrain from saying the same back at you. -
"It's a physical game for physical people"
Spiderweb replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with the need for two quality OLB's, but let's not overlook an almost equal need to find Stroud's replacement as well. He looked old and slow out there. He's barely a shadow of the player he once was for the Jags. -
Take the bits that can be learned from, and forget the rest. Having Stevie do a post game interview? Why? Yet he stepped up and took the loss and his poor game on himself, as he should. Might some of the defesne do the same for allowing a one footed "Rotsberger" to run unmolested for 19 on a third an 18 play.

Yeah Stevie, you da bomb, the dropped bomb. Worst performance by a WR that I've seen in years. 5-6 drops. Yet, to be fair, you have been playing great, which makes your performance today all the more painful to watch. -
Today, we played against and offensive line that blcoks well for the run, but as everyone saw, is poor in pass protection. That made our ruch look better than it really was or is. That said, we absolutely need Troup and Carrington to be ballers. Today, they looked better, but some of those huge holes for the Steelers to run through continues to be a huge concern. Our LB's too much carrying much of the blame as well. They were either late to see the play, over over ran the hole. Stroud, who played decently against the Bungals, looked every bit today as a player with a fork buried in his back.

For the first time in ages....
Spiderweb replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your username so aptly describes the essence of a Bills fan has been for the past 10-11 years. Yet, we are seeing great effort, but also talent is there enough to be able to go head to head. What is needed is a few players who can be the difference makers, that and dump truck full of "stick 'em". -
A few times I saw Carrington use the shutter step in pass rushing. I hope he learns that it must be bang bang then explode. One one play, he was still stutter stepping three seconds into his rush. That's not going to cut it. Yet, overall he does seem big and mobile. It also seemed that he will only get better with PT. Now back to nub hands Johnson.....
-
It was extremely painful to watch Johnson play so horribly today.

McGee got banged up pretty good last year and hasn't been able to fully recover this year. Sadly, those calling out his demise may well be right. He's a definite question mark now as to where his career is going. Yet, I remember McGee as a much better than average CB in his prime, who was (in his youth) an electrifying KR. It's always sad to see a players body break down near the end of their careers. While I hope he can eventually shake his knee problems, and have a few more quality years left, this could be the last year we have Terrence McGee.

Whether Gailey likes Wrotto or even Howard, this is nothing more than an indictment on the horrible play of Green. Nothing more, nothing less.

Can We All Agree Not to Throw the Bills Under The Bus....
Spiderweb replied to Mr. T's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With Pittsburgh's defense and a very capable QB, it could be a big loss. my expectations for this game aren't very high, but it could be a measure of where this team stands. They've tasted some success of late and whether they are ready to continue to build on that or not will soon be known. Offensively, Fitz must play at a very high level for the Bills to be able to effectively move the ball. Our O-line will face a much bigger test than they've been given to date. Chan will need to come up with an effective game plan. Our lack of a pas rush and continued problems with stopping the run (albeit the Bills have been better of late) could make for a long afternoon. Again, it will be a big test.... -
He's also made more than a fair number of solid grabs. He's stepped up his after the catch production in a big way of late. Overall, he's shown to be a good solid receiver. While Evans may get the doubles, Johnson has also beaten a fair number of decent CB's and that doesn't appear to be just luck or a "15 minutes of fame" thing either. If the way he's been playing hasn't brought a Bills fan into his camp, or prompted some respect, then......................

Gonzalez is a rare talent. While our TE's are no stars, it's a bit unfair to compare him to our TE's. Gonzalez was often the focus of KC's passing attack. Since Edwards was dumped, it's quite clear, our WR's have become the focus, and the way they've been playing, it's with good reason.

I would tend to agree, but a few decades ago there was a DE named Ben Williams who was a pretty fair DE in his day, and that was when the Bills were pretty thin elsewhere on the line, and when teams game planned the Bills, he was well accounted for. He didn't have a Bruce Smith opposite him. Still, Phil Hansen is one of my all-time favorite players.
