Deion Sanders just had a meltdown about the same thing now that he is coaching a college team. Told the media they wouldn't call Coach Saban "Nick", and the media were like "uhh, we do all the time". That kind of demand reeks of insecurity and demanding respect instead of being able to earn it. Giants coaching search begins now.

Easy. Power and control. Going to this model allows the Conferences to get rid of the NCAA. They can easily sign the small teams to deals similar to what they already have since those small teams arent going to have much choice. Join the new conference, or get left out of college football completely.

Yeah, when you arent a starter and do something dumb the first week of camp... you become the lesson. -
Madden 22 Team Ratings: Bills 6th at 86
DrDawkinstein replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good to be back at the top and grouped with the winners, but yeah, they are off a little bit. TB and KC... fine. GB at 89... ok But then should have Bills at 88 Ravens 87 Cleveland 86 IMO. Of course, that is an opinion of a Bills fan. But we should be ahead of the Ravens, and certainly the Browns. May have made more sense to go... TB 92 KC 91 GB 90 Bills 89 Ravens 88 Browns 87 -
Fair enough, but other than getting lucky with some land deals and being able to engineer some fracking projects, it's not like the Pegulas have proved to be some universe-brained masterminds at any of this either. They showed up in 2014 and considered the most impressive person they met to be... Russ Brandon. They are lucky they managed to get someone with Jerry Jones' experience in their corner. It's possible his company leaked all this. Which makes the Austin thing even more unlikely considering no way he'd let another NFL team into his market, but would be a known, convenient "threat" to throw out there as an example.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe ACC needs to stick it out and try to be that 4th major conference. There are currently 130 D1 FBS teams. If they are really going to do this right, the ideal number would be 128. I'm sure we can find 2 ***** schools to cut. Oh well to them. 128 teams provides the ability to do 4 Conferences with 32 teams (SEC, BIG(10), PAC, and... ACC?). Each conference has 4 divisions of 8 teams. You get scheduling options such as, each team plays every team in their division once, and then 1 team from the other divisions (for a 10 game schedule). Or 6 in-division, and 2 games with each other division (for a 12 game schedule). Or some other combination. Then you setup the playoffs so each Conference sends 3 or 4 teams to the playoffs. 3 teams makes the ideal 12 team playoff, but 4 teams lets you do each division winner. I dunno.

Tesla Owners - I'm debating one as my next car

A little off topic but my favorite saying on the subject... "In 10 years, only poor people will drive gas cars. In 20 years, only wealthy people will drive gas cars." -

Giants cut Kelvin Benjamin for what??

I was really hoping the "cut for stealing food" tweet was real, simply for the memes it would have generated. -

https://www.wkbw.com/sports/buffalo-bills/im-not-anti-or-pro-vax-im-pro-choice-cole-beasley-comments-on-viral-social-media-posts The most important parts: Beasley added that he plans to have no further comments on social media about the COVID vaccine. General Manager Brandon Beane told reporters before practice that “just over 80%” of the players have received at least one dose of the vaccine while the entire coaching staff is fully vaccinated. We'll se how the first point goes. But great news on the second to be up above 80%. Although that is just one dose. -
Tate Martell - 9 years in College. 2 years left.
DrDawkinstein replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in College Football
Thanks for the summary and additional detail. Interesting stuff. I totally agree that players should be able to transfer however, whenever, and where ever they want. However, folks absolutely gave Fields a ton of ***** about his moving around. Especially when he left UGA for OSU. Maybe I just hear more of it being down in GA myself, but he was the poster child for everyone who wanted to complain about the transfer portal for a good year or so. -

Which is the craziest part. All this maneuvering since he was 10 years old, only to end up with barely a college career and no NFL career. Kinda reminds me of Todd Marinovich, except he actually had a college career and was drafted. I guess once you start holding out your Middle School-aged kid and having them sit home for a year, you're already on a bad path (although it seems to have worked for Justin Fields, and I also learned Jimmy Clausen was 20 when he graduated High School). -
This is being discussed on Reddit, thought it was a good topic since this schmo has played for a bunch of teams that get talked about here. On this date 9 years ago Tate Martell committed to Steve Sarkisian and the University of Washington. He still has 2 years of eligibility left. Here's the timeline so far. Committed to Washington in 2012 Changed commitment to Texas A&M in 2015 Changed commitment again to Ohio State 2016 Redshirted 2017 for Ohio State 2018 played as a backup for Ohio State 2019 announced he was transferring from Ohio State to Miami After transferring he lost the starting job 2020 he opted out 2021 he transferred to UNLV Not even including the year his parents kept him out of school in Junior High to make him an "older kid" and to maneuver prospect classes. Dude is going to be 30 and at the Combine. Also, seems very spoiled and punchable. Thoughts?

The Big12 is DONE and DEAD. Split up the rest between PAC and BIG10. The ACC should start discussions to merge with the SEC immediately. I hate what is happening to college football. Dont get me wrong, I hate the NCAA as a governing body and welcome a new group in charge, but between the playoffs, expanding the playoffs, and this path to consolidation into 2-4 mega-conferences... I'm hating all the change. Quickly losing the down-hominess of classic college ball (if it isnt completely gone already).
