Ancient Urartian castle found in Lake Van, Turkey
Greybeard replied to Saxum's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Attached is a link about the domesticaion of foxes. Shows that you can get tame foxes that behave like dogs in as little as 10 years. I believe I saw the entire show on this years ago on the Discovery channel. Selecting for tameness also causes the variety in color. -
When overwhelmed at work how do you cope?
Greybeard replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I don't know how flexible your work day is but I used to arrange my work day so I did the work I liked the least in the morning when I was fresh. When I wasn't as fresh in the afternoon, I worked on what I enjoyed most. This kept my concentration up and seemed to make the day go faster. -

Ringing, phase 1 -
I fly into a city and rent a car. Within an hour I stop at a store to get something. When I come out I didn't pay attention to where I parked or the type of car I was driving. This is before KEYFOB's. So you start walking looking at license plates.

Does he make Tom Coughlin go to dinner now? -
Started watching Humans last night. Had to do 5 episodes, just couldn't stop. If you like Westworld I have to believe you will like this. I actually think the plot is a bit better for Humans.

Who's been most screwed by the Bills? Of All Time.
Greybeard replied to LA Grant's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Early in the year that Harris was drafted, I read a sports magazine that had OJ and Harris as future stars of the game that would lead Buffalo out of the depression they were in. That could have been the greatest depression ever, although there are a fair number of contenders. So I watched Harris's progress closely. He probably had the greatest arm of any Bills QB. They had a drill where the QB had to throw the ball through a swinging tire. Harris hardly ever missed. He was also plenty tall enough to see over the line. That was the good. During his first training camp, he missed a lot of time. It was reported as a "stomach issue." It certainly did not help his progress. He also didn't have much of a touch on short passes. He seemed to throw a 10 yard pass with the same velocity as a 40 yard pass. A lot of short passes were just too hot to catch. And remember Rauch's idea of using OJ was to free him up using short passes. I was always disappointed he didn't start more often but it is not like he was playing so well they had to play him. I don't buy into the black versus white issue. The team/coaching really sucked back then. A familiar theme over the years. I have to admit, when EJ stood in the pocket, it reminded me of Harris but EJ never had Harris's accuracy. I was also a fan of Fergy. He was a much better passer than many give him credit for. So I have never bought into a QB since Harris. I never believe the hype. Not even Jim Kelly before he played here. I always take the wait and see attitude. Anyone may be the savior. Anyone may not be. The reality is, a QB will not be deemed the answer until he is, and that is solely based on winning. And even then there will always be those that will believe he isn't. -

Thanks for the link. Any link that has the slightest bit on info on the mid-60's Bills is always appreciated. -
Nathan Peterman to Start this Week.

Why do you wonder why this tosses the season and not that it might save it? Either would fit at this point. -
I was about to post Hackman as I will always watch any movie he has been in. If you haven't seen it, watch "The Package." Obvious parallels to real life. Denzel has a long list a great performances.

After I posted I did a seach to make sure I had Gantt's name spelled correctly. Came upon this interesting link. I appears Wooden was also concerned. http://thebonablog.com/2016/06/12/kalbaugh-still-pained-by-end-of-1970-season/

I still believe if Lanier didn't get hurt, the Bonnies take the title. Gantt was on fire even without Lanier.

For those calling for FO and coaching change

This does not guarantee success. Wilson tried with Donnahoe. The Chargers tried with Beathard, and the list goes on and on. The two mentioned were to the the smartest (supposedly}, at the time. -
Augie, what issue are you having? My son has an iphone 6 and when he calls someone, he doesn't always hear them when they answer. This is difficult to diagnose because he just got back to the USA after 3 years and he is using a new carrier but he thinks it is the phone.

Surprised it did this with no rust. Upstate cars with a few years on them are usually rusty in this area.

Just get a separate box. Can't get much cheaper than a Firestick. This is good advice. About 8 years ago my daughter had a Vizio go out. She looked everything up on the internet and asked me if I would help. I said sure take it apart and let me know what you need. When I got home from work the next day she had it apart on the kitchen table and told me she needed some caps. The only thing she wanted me to do is solder them in. TV still works. I wouldn't give up on anything today without first checking the internet for repair info.

During one of the pregame post-season shows, Pero Martinez said when he threw his curve he would jam one finger up against the seam at its narrowest point on ball. His next finger was right next to it and then there was a space between the second finger and the other seam. When he takes one of the current balls, he said look, there is no space, so he said the seams were closer together. I think he was also implying the ball was wound tighter. I would have thought any Pro pitcher could instantly grab a ball and tell if it was bigger or small, heavier or lighter. It makes a big difference in your ability to be consistent and make the ball move. Even a bigger deal on the pitchers confidence level. What wasn't mentioned in the article is a rougher ball will offer more resistance to the air, so in affect, it should move more than a slick ball. Take that and an umpire who seemed to miss more calls than I would believe, and the pitchers are in for a long game. A bit off topic, but after watching more baseball this year than I have ever watched before, I think if it time to let the video systems make the ball and strike calls. It's a big difference when as a pitcher the third pitch brings you to 2 and 1 instead of 1 and 2. I admit the calls go both ways but it makes a big difference when they happen. It is not fair to either pitcher or batter if the calls are not correct. Put a buzzer in the umps hand and if it is a strike, buzz him. He can still make the call.

Yes. Fast ball pitcher vs fastball hitting team and the ball really travels here. Guess he gets to do it next inning. Something must be up with the ball. There hasn't been this many home runs since players were juicing.

Expect Jansen to give up a HR here.

So where is the Garden State Brickface commercial that follows this?

Thanks, now I don't have to look that up.
