  1. What brand of PLC did you plan to use? You say you have no experience with this, so should I assume you don't know? I could help you with the programming but it is not difficult. Probably more difficult to sort out the hardware. You could also maybe program it with an arduino computer. I would suggest you start by sorting out the hardware. If you do a "do it yourself system" you would have to also sort out the user interface. Lights and switches or a panel display. I also know a guy who works on sewage treatment systems, so I could get some info on hardware from him. I may be seeing him Thursday night.
  2. Black Mirror is back on the 12/29. Tough decision to binge or savor. I am leaning to savor at the moment.
  3. I have never had satellite so I may be off on this but by your description you have a smart TV, correct? So does the ESPN app come from satellite or from your internet access? I thought with satellite you still have to have internet and it basically comes on the phone lines. I thought that is what your tv app is fed from, which might explain why you have issues with your ESPN app.
  4. Did they say what position they considered at risk?
  5. SU just pulled off a great come behind victory in OT on National TV. I thought for sure they pulled a Bills thing and fouled with less than a second in regulation time with the game tied but somehow they did not. For a team that looked pretty lack luster early, they sure turned it on at the end.
  6. I have a two beer limit. I really like beer with a meal. Seems like the perfect combo. Since the crack down on drunk driving years ago, not worth the risk being anywhere near the limit and driving.
  7. Nancy says " Pass it so we can see what is in it!"
  8. Here is the conversation from the CEO of ZZZ ISP corp. " Well this removal of Net Neutrality is a good thing for us. We have lost 10% of our cable TV subscribers over the last 3 years and it is projected to go as high as 50% over the next 8 years. This is our chance to make up for that. So this is our new marketing strategy. First, we are going to demand Netflix, Amazon and Youtube pay us $2 a month for each of the subscribers as a base entry charge. This isn't a big deal for them because they will just pass the cost on to their subscribers. Now the issue with all these cable cutters is they don't necessarily use Netflix, Amazon or Youtube for video. So break out all the usage data we have and we will make a tiered volume usage cost plan. We can probably start with a totally unlimited package for $120 a month, which is about what cable TV costs in non-competitive markets. Then we will scale down from there. We want to get this out as soon as possible, so QQQ ISP corp will know what the market is. When they beat our prices a little we will come down to their rates, but only in markets where there is direct competition. Make sure no one has any contact with QQQ so it can't be viewed as price fixing. Now call a Board of Directors meeting. I think we have to review my bonus plan" If you don't think things will play out like this, think about how the price of the Epipen sky rocketed. Also, since this is basically ISP deregulation, it might be a good time to buy stock in ISP's.
  9. How do they manage to tax rain?
  10. I'll give you a thumbs up for the song reference. I still enjoy listening to it. I assume you are an old fart.
  11. " If at first you don't succeed." I understand that is the favorite saying of Darwin award winners.
  12. Looking at the lists, I wonder how much time they give them to eat? Also, a lot of them order vanilla ice cream. The diet soda's don't taste the same as the regular soda's. I assume it is an acquired taste.
  13. Are you a Kinks fan? Did you catch Ray Davies at UB about 3 years ago?
  14. I would think not many have heard this song.
  15. It was salary dump. I hope this works out as well as the Arod acquisition.
  16. What a great voice. I find it odd that more than any other song, this reminds me of Christmas,
  17. This is a good home made squirrel baffle. One good thing about it is if you use a bought pole or shepherds hook with a fork at the bottom, you can use this design to wrap around the pole before you close it. Stopped the squirrels but one issue I had is the small opening at the top of the baffle was just the right size for chipmunks. Had to duct tape the holes.
  18. I am also into feeding birds. One pole with 4 spokes on it with multiple feeders on each spoke, and a window feeder on the kitchen window for the finches and nuthatches. The window feeder gets sunflower hearts and the feeders on the pole get sunflower hearts and black oil sunflower seeds. Here is a feeder in Ontario that gets a good mix of birds. Would not have thought they get such a mix in the winter. Nice to see the Grosbeeks. http://cams.allaboutbirds.org/channel/38/Ontario_FeederWatch/#_ga=2.233530718.1927424736.1510238719-2071302637.1492465572
  19. It has been rare to see the electric version of the Strawbs in the States. This is about a once in 5 year event as they usually tour as the Accoustic Strawbs. The accoustic version consists of Dave Cousins, Dave Lambert and Chas Cronk. Cousins is a founder and Lambert and Cronk have been in the band since the 70's. The electric version has two other musicians, one on keyboard and one on drums. If you can see either band, you won't go away disappointed. You won't find better musicians. I believe this was Rick Wakeman's first band. They also had Sandy Denny as a member when she was just starting. Homer N.Y. is about 30 minutes south of Syracuse. Just Jack is from Syracuse so I thought he might find that informative.
  20. When you eliminate welfare, you will have to increase the cops or military to maintain order. After years of people being taken care of, people think it is their right. UBI is just welfare x100. And that is assuming you can get anyone who is willing to be a cop or go into the millitary to do that. See Baltimore. Welfare should never have been for life. It should have been a safety net for those who ran into a bad luck streak.
  21. I just saw the Electric Strawbs in Homer, NY. Looked over the set list just to see what they might play. They don't play the same thing every night but have 3 or 4 songs they might substitute. So I don't think it matters. It does prevent the "Garden Party" syndrome. I was tempted to see them in Rochester two days before the Homer date. It would be interesting to see if there was a difference on performances this close together. I know a couple of guys at the Homer show also saw them in Rochester. In some cases, if you like them, you have to see them while they are still here. They could play three straight night, 15 songs a night and not run out of decent material. BTW, the Homer location is a very good venue for bands. I am going to have to check out the artists coming there in the future.
  22. I feel pretty good about a loss. They really played like crap that first half. Unforced turnovers and terrible shooting. Don't know what was with all those traveling turnovers. Some, where they were not even pressed. They sure are able to run into guys that are hot on shooting three's. It was good experience for early in the year.
  23. So if it was the other way around, guess who pays the bill at the end of the day. The same people. The only difference in either situation when it comes to financial issues is who is doing the charging and how much.
  24. I wonder what this board would be saying if Taylor wasn't benched and ended up injured, and they had to give him the big contract. Everyone would be bitching, because the bench game was a meaningless game.
  25. I was looking for something to watch that I wouldn't get too involved with and came across a show called Comrade Detective. It is Romanian from the early 80's before the fall of communism. I find it very amusing. I never realized how bad us capitalists were. If you decide to try it, watch at least the first two episodes. In the second episode you find out that Monopoly was used to brain wash children into the capitalist system.
