  1. He's now claiming he meant the second round, though he did not clarify that earlier which is convenient.
  2. No doubt. I am simply saying I don't think the Sabres are in danger of relocation, either.
  3. In the NFL Draft rumors thread at one point you were saying DT is a real possibility at 27. You then changed to a confident assertion that Drew Sanders was our guy. When asked about your source, you claimed "the Future." Apparently now the future is saying Josh Downs.
  4. I understand your argument. Just to restate very briefly, Western New York can legitimately point out many assets tangible and emotive-traditional in favor of retaining the Bills. Nonetheless, there are economic incentives for a team in Canada powerful enough that any financial costs built into a move would be easily acceptable as an initial outlay because of obvious benefits overall. Think the Pegula family wants to keep the Bills in Buffalo. Do not think they are selling. Naturally, if that changes, the calculations also change. I believe Terry's attachment to the Sabres is even stronger than his enthusiasm for the Bills. Missing the playoffs twelve years in a row has substantially hurt the Sabres' bottom line. They are poised to be good for a long stretch, however, so that is going to change.
  5. I'd be pretty happy with that result. I've been pushing for Kincaid for quite a while and Trenton Simpson is the best fit at LB. I think Kincaid is one of the few really dynamic offensive weapons in the draft so it would be a mistake to trade out of 27 if he is on the board. Personally, I am not one of those angst ridden over LB, so if your board was true, I would probably take Matthew Bergeron. I really like him and strengthening the oline takes priority for me. Some interesting speculations: Levis, Robinson, and Wright particularly.
  6. I bet you enjoy kicking dogs.
  7. The question is who exactly are the OTs that are worth taking at 27? Paris Johnson and Broderick Jones are not going to be there. Maybe Darnell Wright. It would be great if a potential LT worthy of the pick were available, but it won't happen and you can get a RT in the second or third.
  8. I was pretty sure I had read a draft profile on Addison where he was listed at 180 lbs, but I just checked a few and they all say 173. I think you have to take him if he is there at 27.
  9. I prefer all your top four selections to those of Matt Miller's. Addison for reasons stated, however a fella in another thread has him at 170 lbs which is less than I have read elsewhere. That's concerning if true. Like his versatility, route running, and high floor. I want one of the top 4 TEs. LaPorta over a db, though Bergeron is one of my favorites. I'd be tempted to go that way, though he's probably a guard. Duncan is the third round OT I like. I think you have to have a tackle by end of day 2 as plan B in case the Brown experiment fails. I think Eric Gray is going to be good, so that one is a push for me. No idea about the choices in the sixth.
  10. The cap hit is close to a deal breaker unless AZ eats a lot contract. I think it is more likely Beane trades up for Addison.
  11. I think 12 personnel would be very effective in the RZ where Dorsey so far has shown lack of creativity. That is also where a lot of our turnovers showed up. 12 personnel is a formation that creates more confusion and decision making for the Defense. Supposedly Dorsey has some familiarity with it. I don't think it is an outrageous idea. You are free to think otherwise.
  12. I don't know if that is hyperbole or not, but obviously the pick of a TE early is dependent on Dorsey using 12 personnel. No one is advocating using a first round pick for a backup to Knox and it is disingenuous to suggest such.
  13. Cosell's opinion is a definite plus in the Zay Flowers' column. I give more credence to what he says than what I read in an anonymous draft profile. The contract value regarding TE and ILB is a valid point. For me, in this draft particularly, I'd like to focus on offense early. Maybe Wright falls to 27 and that is a legitimate pick. If not, I suspect there is a likelihood that OL and WR may not have someone available when the Bills' pick that I would deem worthy of it. I favor Kincaid because I am thinking of him as a weapon in lieu of a WR. Washington is probably too early for 27, but I will not be shocked if he goes late first. I think he is an exceptional blocker and an underrated RZ threat. And I'm an UGA fan, so biased, but I do believe he could be a valuable piece if Dorsey is willing to gameplan that way.
  14. Guess we'll see. He did play outside in college, but numerous draft profiles question whether he'll be able to do so at the pro level. His small arms give him a smaller catch radius and he's had a problem with drops. I personally would prefer a larger receiver, but there's no doubt he's talented.
  15. He's a slot receiver. I can't see him on the outside. I think Addison is more likely what they are looking for, but I'm just guessing.
  16. It they go offense in the first, this is a plausible list. I'd be surprised if Kincaid or Wright are there at 27. Mayer, maybe. I'd rather take Washington, though Mayer is the more complete player right now. Not sure what to make of Flowers -- super skilled, but tiny with midget arms. He probably still goes before the Bills' pick.
  17. Oliver would still have to be replaced, so you probably spend an early pick on DT if that is the plan.
  18. Well, as you probably know historically there have been times when there were rival claimants, not to mention the novelty of an emeritus pope, but the operative word in the phrase you bolded is dictatorship. You might have looked to the prior sentence for an explanation where I assert that "the pope speaks authoritatively for the lived wisdom tradition of the Church" which indicates an ecclesial witness that is broader than an individual deciding which is how modern people tend to conceptualize it. It doesn't really matter if non-Catholics find that ridiculous. I am attempting to clarify the grounding of papal infallibility within Catholic theology -- and of course, as That's No Moon indicates, one can always dismiss all this as an innovation that obscures a different history.
  19. Going to Catholic high school doesn't mean you have a correct grasp of Catholic theology. If you dislike the Church, that's your business, but simply as a matter of fact, you appear to think that papal infallibility involves a sinless life and perfect knowledge both of which are manifestly incorrect. Papal infallibility involves very narrowly circumscribed conditions in which the pope speaks authoritatively for the lived wisdom tradition of the Church on matters of faith and doctrine. It is not a dictatorship of one and it does not mean the pope is ethically pure, a saint, or unable to make erroneous statements.
  20. Well, perhaps, but I am not talking about trading 59. I think Hyatt could be there.
  21. As I said upthread, Kincaid and Washington tend towards extremes. Mayer is probably the best traditional TE. I wrote elsewhere that Kincaid, Washington, and Bergeron were my three favorite players in this draft, so I appreciate both TEs for different reasons and would be happy with either one of them.
  22. I would trade up for Kincaid in the first. Think you should compare him to the wr class and think of him as a difference maker weapon.
  23. They ought to be picking UDFA stock ahead of us, dammit.
  24. I like Kincaid and Washington the best, though they bring very different skill sets. Mayer and LaPorta are among the top 4. A lot of folks question whether Dorsey would make use of 12 personnel. They also see the depth at the position in the draft and are willing to wait and maybe devote a day 3 pick to TE. I think that means you lose out on the top level talent that is where the real quality can be found. I hope we get one of the top 4. I'd love to add Bergeron, but I doubt he lasts to 91. So, I think your hypothetical sequence somewhat optimistic. I'm fine with Hyatt at 59, that's about right for him. Given my concern about the oline, I almost think Washington might be a better pick at 27 because he is an exceptional blocker. (Also, there's a pretty good chance Mayer and Kincaid go before 27.)
  25. It's an underwhelming list. I chose Luke Wypler. Apart from ESPN, a number of sites have him as a late 2nd pick. The Bills had Wypler in for a visit and he is supposedly above average at both run and pass blocking. He's not an imposing athlete, but if he's effective that is what matters. Mingo or Musgrave are the skill players one might consider here. I'm not thrilled with either at 59, so I think doubling up on the oline is a worthy strategy.
