Unfortunately, he still has us taking O'Cyrus Torrence.

Your one, and only one, draft hot take?
Dr. Who replied to Sammy Watkins' Rib's topic in The Stadium Wall
Interesting is an equivocal word. It can be like Mr. Spock's fascinating, but also the enigmatic word of praise you use when someone who can't draw asks for your opinion of their artwork. I'm going with the latter in this case, because if Beane doesn't spend a day one or two pick on OL and Brown plays like Brown has played, it's going to get ugly fast. (Maybe he doesn't, but Beane is unwise not to have a backup plan and right now it isn't on the roster.) -
It's rhetorical judo, not karate. Nice snide underhanded compliment to begin the second paragraph. Not sure who is ahead on points, but if it's a knife fight I'm going with BADOLBILZ.

I picked him up late in some of my simulated mock drafts. -
Ahh, I missed it. Too busy wasting time here . . .

All Gunner's Draft Stuff.... 2023 Edition!!!
Dr. Who replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Really splendid work as always, Gunner. Thank you. If you were the Bills' GM what positions would you prioritize given where the talent level is strongest and weakest and the current roster? Would you do the 34 for 27 D Hopkins trade that is speculated? What is your ideal plausible draft after day 2? I like a number of players, but looking at the above, I think I want to make sure I end up with one of Bergeron, Wright, or Harrison. Another smart fella (it was gonzo) here speculated C early as a dark horse pick. That seems plausible to me. -
Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
Dr. Who replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, that is true, but the fact that the good qbs and offensive weapon talent is migrating into our conference and ending up with rival teams that are playoff teams is not on balance a good thing. -
It helps that the Jets have had multiple first rounders and are always picking near the top of the draft. We'll see how it turns out. I'm not sold on 39 year old Rodgers. If he plays well, the Jets are dangerous.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
Dr. Who replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's been touched on a while back. You can only speculate. Some suggest Diggs would be a selfish diva and it would be acrimonious, but most believe having Hopkins makes it harder to double Diggs which is good for Diggs and the team will win which is what Diggs is ultimately about. I think the latter more true. -
I haven't loved Beane's drafts, but forgive him a lot because he got Josh Allen.

I'm getting pretty old, because they're all starting to blur together.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
Dr. Who replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, I think this is right, but doesn't Hopkins have to agree to the reworked contract? Hence, some influence on where he ends up. -

But he does have a say in how willing he is to renegotiate his contract. It's disingenuous to imply he has no influence on what team he is eventually traded to. -
Every year I get excited about the draft and nearly every year (I was one of the few who was really happy when they drafted Josh Allen), it's anti-climactic. I know this going in, yet I can't help getting drawn into the endless speculation and hoping for various players that pretty much never show up. (Or maybe that's the Great Pumpkin, I forget.)

Folks will be intolerable here if you take a C at 27. I think it becomes easier to sell if you can do that Hopkins swap and take him at 34. Some of the experts, whoever they are, seem to like John Michael Schmitz as the top C. He's supposed to be a tough guy, but older. Anyway, I think it's a shrewd dark horse possibility.

Campbell has been mocking Torrence to the Bills. (Then two DTs back to back.) Bad pick and not a good sequence, imo. He didn't have the Bills take any skill position players, so I find that unlikely and not smart. But the view that the Bills are soft and need toughness on both sides of the trenches is something some ex-player pundits were talking about on ESPN the other day, so maybe there is something to it. Bresee, Bergeron, Hopkins for 91 could work. (It would have to be Mazi Smith or Myles Murphy according to your model, LE, but I prefer Bresee so plugged him into the speculation.)

TSW Mock Draft 3.0 Poll - Who should the Bills take at #27
Dr. Who replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the vote ends up Hopkins and 34, I suggest extending this exercise into the early second round to include the 34th pick, but maybe that is too much of an innovation. -
@4merper4mer got a lot of grief for suggesting this fella was a late first round pick. Well, partly that, but more that the Bills should take him to trade him. That's too risky for my taste. Once you select him, teams will low ball on the return knowing you don't want to keep him. But looks like he may be vindicated on the value.

Thanks. That is not the most substantial basis to confidently assert anything if that is the kind of outfit they are. -

Thank you. I went over to their website. Too busy for me. I've no idea how credible these folks are. Perhaps others with better knowledge can comment. -

You're the second person to chime in with this idea. Where are you hearing this? On what basis are you making this assertion? I'm not questioning your veracity, but I don't think asking for your source is too much to expect. -

TSW Mock Draft 3.0 Poll - Who should the Bills take at #27
Dr. Who replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
That is great if true. All I was trying to say is you can't know how much DHop would add to the cap until you know how much salary AZ is retaining, though perhaps it's more complicated than that.
