  1. He's a great talker. It's a perfect job for Rex. Don't know how much he'll like all the adulation for the Pats* though.
  2. You can put the back-up qb in and do the victory formation on this dialogue.
  3. I understand why OBD let him walk. I'll be less understanding if they spend the #10 pick on cb.
  4. I usually don't quote longish comments, especially when it is two posts above. This deserves the repeat. I hope, without much confidence, they are open to a qb early this year.
  5. Thanks for this. Folks go off without knowing any details.
  6. Yep, but you know what they will probably do? Take a cb to replace the first round cb they just let go. LOL. Don't like your politics, but that's spot on funny.
  7. Hard to disagree with this assessment. The cb cycle thing has been tried enough to be proven the wrong strategy.
  8. Nice post. I hope Taylor makes a leap forward as his advocates anticipate. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it happens.
  9. Well, that would be a nice signing if it happens. I'm going to remain skeptical for now.
  10. It is possible I have simply inferred that folks realize development is a risky and necessary stage. Oh well.
  11. I really don't think anyone believes drafting a qb in the first round is a quick fix. Almost any drafted qb will need development and the kind of infrastructure you allude to. I have some hope for Cardale Jones, but I would still like to grab a qb early, though our needs at wr and cb may preclude that.
  12. I honestly have (perhaps unfounded) optimism that Watkins will be healthy. That kind of injury often needs a second surgery, but the foot is usually stable afterwards. Davis or Williams plus Watkins turns wr from a question mark to a relative strength, especially if we get decent #3 production from one of the new fellas. Of course, qb may still be an issue. Yeah, sorry. My real life is pretty stressful right now.
  13. The comment I responded to talked about HC and QB, so I indicated we don't know what kind of head coach McDermott will be.
  14. Analysis is right on target. You resign your A players and C players. The Bs go elsewhere. Too early to say what we have in McDermott. Pretty sure we don't have an elite qb.
  15. I read, but cannot recollect the source, that the Bills and another team (Jets?) were interested in Glennon, but when the salary went beyond 8 to 10 million per year, they dropped out. I think it's clear OBD valued Taylor at a reduced price only, whether one calls that surmise or fact.
  16. So, now the snarky and mean-spirited thread asking whether any team had even contacted EJ about a try-out can be replaced with snarky and mean-spirited comments about how every team needs a camp arm.
  17. Sheltered and game manager are not mutually exclusive. I agree Wentz struggled latter half of the season. Eagles picked up some nice FA WRs. We'll see.
  18. I was in favor of a late flier on the kid, but the maturity issues are really concerning. He doesn't seem Jim Kelly brash and a little rough around the edges. He seems Johnny Manziel entitled stupid who still doesn't get it.
  19. I think he would be a good signing. Unfortunately, this snafu has given competing teams a target to beat. Makes me feel he is less likely to sign with us now, but perhaps I am excessively pessimistic.
  20. I am okay with Mike Williams at #10. The folks who say he is a player who "sucks" are engaged in hyperbole or not serious people. I prefer Watson or Mahomes and Zay Jones in the second. Ideally, trade back, pick a qb later in the first, draft wr and best db available with second round picks. That may not be possible and in any event, is unlikely to happen. Imo, Taylor's revised contract is a perfect bridge qb contract, but it only becomes so if your developmental qb is on the team. Most likely, that is not C. Jones.
  21. Well, if you're a Buffalo sports' fan, you are forced to learn patience. I'm okay waiting.
