2018 Bills draft QB Mason Rudolph - CBS Sports
Dr. Who replied to BigDingus's topic in College Football
Add in the wr corps at OSU has a couple of future pros. Rudolph is my least favorite of the potential first rounders that get talked about. I'd rather take a chance that Allen will improve his accuracy and that is unlikely. Mayfield is the best feasible qb we should target, imo, because I don't see any way we can land Rosen or Darnold. -

Statistics have no effect on the quality of the actual draft class. Maybe this is the exception. We better hope so, because I can't see any rational way to grab Rosen or Darnold. -
Rudolph has a meh arm, a wr corps full of future pros in a conference that rarely plays defense. His decision making is suspect. Not at all impressed with him, so he is probably the fella we end up with.

The world will end right before the Bills are about to win the SB, perhaps during the two minute warning. That would be the Billsy thing and supposedly God hates Buffalo. Oh, and I am a skeptic about McD, though its really too early. Have to see what he does with a revamped roster. I worry that he is Jauron 2.0.

Star Wars Episode VIII - The Last Jedi thread
Dr. Who replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Interesting dialogue between you and Fadingpain. I certainly agree that the writing is pedestrian and much of the casting indifferent. I don't see how anyone would dismiss Alex Guinness as an actor and while Han Solo is a conventional character, Harrison Ford inhabits that character in an especially effective way. In my view, Star Wars taps into a mythic consciousness, so it's not a real negative to note deriviative sources. The original trilogy rises above the obvious limitations. -
That is confusing. In context, it seems like McDermott must be the moron, but I don't suppose that is intended. If this fella is on the level, and maybe he is, I'm not thrilled they apparently think Kirk Cousins is the answer.
-
If he can't get healthy, maybe he's just done as a player. In that case, he obviously has no trade value and will just be a large cap hit going forward.
-
This is completely on target. However, it is entertaining. I doubt it's true, btw, but who knows for sure? Only way I trade Glenn is if I am certain Dawkins can play LT and Glenn is the added piece that gets me Rosen or Darnold.
-
Folks who like Mayfield don't agree with your judgement that he is JF2.0. Manziel was more interested in being a celebrity than a football player. Mayfield is immature, but he's also passionate about playing qb. I was pushing for OBD to pick Watson or Mahomes, btw. So I don't fully fit your scenario. It would be far preferable to draft Rosen or Darnold. I just doubt we can put ourselves in a position to get them. After that, everyone has bigger question marks. I think Mayfield will grow out of his antics and I rate his skill set considerably better than you believe it, i.e., I think it will translate to the NFL. I see a potential Brees where you see an idiot college qb with no future in the pros.
-
Yes, I know about the cost. My skepticism was that you could pull off the deal, even with the expense. Throwing in Glenn actually makes it more plausible. It's just so many resources for a team with lots of holes and you add LT (or RT if Dawkins is a viable LT). But I am on the side of those who believe franchise qb trumps every other need by a wide margin. Just better get it right at that price.

That's a king's ransom. I'd be surprised still, but I guess it's possible.

You see Cleveland or the Giants trading out? I don't.

Sony Michel and Nick Chubb should be available in the second. I think Michel is going to be a good one.

MAJBobby claims to have some access to what folks at OBD are thinking. If he's correct, we plan on going the FA route to improve DL and OL. -

I hope Dennison and Castillo are gone after this year. I would love to land either Rosen or Darnold, but I don't see either the Browns or Giants trading out or not taking them. -
I've been a proponent of drafting Mayfield or Jackson -- I surmise Darnold and Rosen are out of reach. I think someone will reach on Allen early, too. The small hands thing is a concern though, especially if you play in Western NY conditions.
-
I am ambivalent about Cousins, but he's definitely better than Dalton imo.
-
The next Drew Brees is Baker Mayfield.
-
I think this is what will happen -- and what should happen. I'd like to have a shot at Rosen or Darnold, but I think we'll be aiming for third choice. Mayfield, Jackson, Allen, Rudolph is my current order 3 - 6. I see more Brees than Manziel in Mayfield, despite the immaturity which I think he'll grow out of.
-
Webb is an emergency qb only. Over time, I think Peterman will end up being a better backup than Tyrod. (We don't have a starting qb, but we are forced to start one anyway.) I have no idea which inadequate starter would truly give us a better chance next Sunday, so I'm just going to hope for the best with whoever the eight ball picks.

Just how bad is our O this year?
Dr. Who replied to ProcessTheTrust's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we hired a lot of scouts after the draft. My impression was many of them are considered quality football minds. The litany of errors you dilineate, however, does give one pause. I am not at all sold on the acumen of this regime. My view is Dennison and Castillo should go. I don't see a young, potential franchise qb doing well here with them in place, but I'm by no means an expert. Just old and watched a lot of football over the years. -
Well, good for you. Two in a row is a big streak for you fellas.

OP, what do you expect with a thread like this? Go Navy!

Ryan Shazier update - spinal surgery
Dr. Who replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is interesting and a well-articulated, intelligent analysis. Thanks for sharing. -
Well, Lawson as a double digit sack fella seems hyperbole, but the basic point is excellent. Real Qb instantly improves the D.
