The most encouraging rookie camp observation that I saw

No, you were reacting to GreggTX fella. I was characterizing his post. They are one note when it comes to qb. -

Post is a passive aggressive version of his normal Josh Allen negativity. -
We're building the offense around the passing attack
Dr. Who replied to VW82's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They passed on wr in the draft, took two TEs who can block, took Ford early in the second round, took a rb with the third pick, most of the free agent o-line, contrary to your view apparently, are pretty good at run blocking. They are bringing in Lee Smith for a looksee. Don't really see the evidence for this change of philosophy, though you'd hope Allen develops to the point where passing is a big part of the offense, wouldn't one? -
Okay, thanks. I'm hoping the seventh rounder can be that guy, but if the price is okay, sign the fella and keep the best fits.

Trade Lawson and a 2020 draft pick for Clowney?
Dr. Who replied to tomur67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree that Clowney could thrive in our D. I don't think Houston can sign him long-term. We could make a play for him in free agency. You don't trade for him in any event without an extension worked out. Regardless, there is superior wr talent I doubt Beane is willing to pass on in 2020 draft. I'd offer a second plus and see if Texans bite. -

Then keep Clowney and lose him to free agency. Too much really good wr talent at the top of the draft next year. Our window really starts next year. We're not the team with urgency, so we don't have to pay a premium. If the Texans want a second, okay, but the first is off the table. -

Next year's first is off the table, imo. There's going to be some great wr talent at the top of the draft. Trade for Clowney would also have to include a plan to sign an extension. Think it's unlikely to happen, but I do think he would flourish here. -
Why not just keep an extra guard? I don't really get the fascination.

Cover 1: The Path to the #1 Defense

From CBS article shortly after the draft: Oliver flashed more pass-rushing moves than in his first two years with the Cougars. The run-stopping prowess has been there since his true freshman season in 2016. -

More or less agree, but part of that equation is teams ran on us a lot because bad rush defense. That helps pass defense numbers. Oliver is very good at stopping the run, btw. -

They were good not great and bad in the red zone. Think they'll be better this year. -
If only there was a fella named King Anger.

Buffalo Bills TE Tommy Sweeney is a 70's throwback
Dr. Who replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm okay with keeping4 TEs. I'd cut the FB, though McDermott seems to favor the fella. Ahh, answered the other page. What this guy says^^^ -
I am relatively agnostic on Zay, but it does seem to me that the controlling narrative that most folks carry around is one that downplays the positives by explaining them away and then accentuates the negative or dismisses him as JAG. I have no idea how it will go. This year will be decisive for his career with the Bills. The wr corps looks a lot better if he becomes anything close to what was hoped for when we traded up in the second to get him and if Foster continues his upwards trajectory, so basically I'm hoping for that and I think there's a chance it happens.

Significant improvement of the o-line (including hopefully coaching upgrade), Allen getting first team reps and an off-season where he knows where to concentrate his efforts, adding Brown and Beasley, maybe some actual holes for the rb to run through, TEs with working knees -- enough there to make middle of the pack a plausible goal.

Let's not.

I wanted DK, especially once he fell into the second, but that's damn funny. Next yrs draft has lots of wr talent at the top of the draft and quality free agents. No reason the position shouldn't be greatly upgraded soonish. Just need Allen to show growth with remade line, and modestly capable wr corp, TEs with knees that work, etc.
