  1. Think Dawkins Spain Morse Long Ford the likely starters, though there's a lot of competition at guard. We actually appear to have quality depth. Waddle was supposed to be the swing tackle, but I think Nsehke might end up filling that role now that Ford is part of the equation. The other possibility is Ford gets kicked inside to RG and Nsehke plays RT. I personally think Dawkins could excel at LG, but I agree he will have to clearly fail at LT before they contemplate that.
  2. Tyreek Hill is not going to be playing football in the NFL for a long while, imo. The broader point really is that next yr has the bonanza of wr talent available in free agency and the draft. Folks can complain all they want about not getting an alpha WR this yr, but the talent pool dictated otherwise. Meanwhile, the Bills had arguably a spectacular off-season, basically rebuilding the o-line from almost scratch and adding quality depth throughout the roster. Edge and WR remain areas that need improvement. Allen has enough this yr to work with. If he makes a leap this yr, we will provide all the extras next year. Could be a fun ride if things work out and it's not irrational to think they might.
  3. I think DiMarco is likely gone. They will use a TE for the FB role when needed.
  4. They had Singletary in for a visit, didn't they? Not sure about Montgomery. I don't get the sense they settled for Singletary.
  5. Part of it is we were so bereft of talent last yr, the contrast makes the new guys appear perhaps stronger than they are. Nonetheless, I still think league average is their floor.
  6. I think most folks are pretty happy with the draft, though wr is an issue for some. Sills and Easley speak to that. Also, last yr we had two UDFAs make an impact, so more attention maybe?
  7. Okay, we now have John Brown and acquired Beasley in free agency. I wanted DK, but it's not an automatic fail situation.
  8. Doubtful. They're going with a different approach. I think it's the way the league is moving -- generally away from #1 receivers towards making a team cover multiple threats. You don't need an OBJ or Antonio Brown to be a dangerous offense. Great if you have one, of course.
  9. But you simply ignore improvements in o-line, bringing in quality vets, late yr improvement by Foster, TE that is healthy and rookies with potential there. It's like if it isn't a proven #1 WR, they're liable in your book. They inquired on Antonio, went a different direction that is rational to most, but no dice with Joe. Well, die on that island if you must.
  10. Knox was third or fourth fiddle to AJ Brown and DK, did not have a good qb throwing the ball, did not play in an offense that featured the TE, and had some injury issues. But in terms of athletic ability and potential, some have him equal to Hockenson. He's not a headscratcher, he's a good pick.
  11. Peterman and trainwreck are hyperbole and simply reactive to not taking a WR early. I wanted the position addressed as well, but the direction taken is not irrational. Forgetting Duke Williams is a real thing. He might stack up as at least a fella that falls talent wise into what you might have gotten in rounds 2 or 3. In general, it's been a strong off-season, free agency and the draft looked at as a whole. The o-line has gone from a huge liability to potentially a strength, wr has upgraded to at least adequate, there's actually some youth at rb to go along with veteran future HOFs, Allen has a yr of experience and will get first team reps from the get go, older, underachieving coaches have been replaced with young, hungry coaches who apparently impressed the incoming rookies, the hole left by the departure of Kyle Williams filled with one of the top players in the draft. In short, plenty of reason not to be salty about the draft.
  12. Take it easy. It's not really a fair fight.
  13. Seriously? Oliver and Ford are strong picks.
  14. Personally, I hope it's Metcalf. Then I would trade up and get Josh Oliver. Then I'd have a smoke and I don't smoke. Well, can't complain about Cody Ford.
  15. I want DK or Butler at WR, Josh Oliver at TE. McD should realize that the success of Josh Allen is priority #1. Ed Oliver is a great pick. Now feed the offense.
  16. What's the price to move up to 33? I hope Beane is on the phone finding out.
  17. I wouldn't simply assume DK is going to be there at 40. If he is, good chance he's the pick. If Bills want to be certain, they have to be proactive.
  18. Guess I'm really ancient or something, but the booing Goodell thing rubs me wrong and it gets old when the entire first round is filled with it.
  19. Yeah, I'm commenting without being aware of how this draft played out. Thanks, I agree. They will have to trade up and I hope they do.
  20. That's sort of the problem with taking TE in the 1st. Imo, the value is later in the draft for TE when you can pick up a Josh Oliver or maybe Knox or Sternberger. You really need first rounder for OL, DL, or WR (CB or QB if you need one.) If you go TE in the first and CB in the second, you are ignoring both OL, DL, and WR till third round barring trade ups. Don't see the positional value with that strategy.
