  1. This. The OP should edit his 1st post. Incognito looked like sh*t.
  2. Wow. Koppen being carted off is not a good sign. See if the Dolfuns will be able to get some pressure now.
  3. Playing with fire is right. No depth can really handcuff a team and lead to Marcia getting some pressure. I will be interested in seeing what transpires tonight.
  4. I think we would do the same thing if something similar happened to one of our players. Just think about Wilfork's hit on a defenseless Losman back in the day. The board was calling for an injury to him or seeking revenge and doing the same thing to Brady.
  5. Great point. I though the NFL was going to try and have games featuring a west coast opponent on the east coast start at 1pm or later because there was a tremendous amount of disparity in these games in the past. Just another reason to like the Bills this weekend.
  6. On one hand, the Raiders always seem to be an upstart team because of the division they are in, the improvement of their running game, and the fact they finished last season with a respectable record of 8-8. I don't think their any better than last year however. They lost their most dependable receiver in Zack Miller, which means there will be more defenses game planning against the run and forcing Campbell to throw. If teams can stop OAK's running game, they will probably be successful in beating them.
  7. Looked like a stinger. Merriman will be doing his signature "dance" in front of the home crowd after sacking a familiar opponent next week.
  8. Golden Tate. Interesting. He was a stud when he left ND. I thought he would do well in the NFL. Trent on the other hand, might have a tough time making an NFL roster. He might end up like Brohm and Losman playing in the UFL.
  9. This is precisely how I feel. Thank you for surmising my exact feelings.
  10. I don't think that was a contradiction. My point is that there are guys on the team like Easley (who didn't contribute at all last year) and Parrish (who missed half the season) who are going to get significant amounts of playing time and are expected to have some decent production. This doesn't neccessarily mean that one of them will become a viable #2 WR.
  11. Even though we are seemingly deep at the WR position, there are still a lot of questions marks at the position. Is Stevie a bonafide #1 WR? Who will play the role of Evans in stretching the field? Will last year's rookies continue to develop and build on the body of work they have started to establish? Stevie is coming off his 3rd season and it was a breakout career year. Do you guys think he will better the 82 catch, 1,073 yard, 13.1/ypc, 10 TD season? I for one, think he will regress to the mean for a number of reasons, kinda like Evans after his 82 rec, 1,292 yard, 15.8/ypc, 8 TD season in 2006. After that season, Evans regressed to 55 rec, 849 yard, 5 TDs. Here is why I think Stevie's numbers will be lower: First, and the most obvious reason, with the loss of Evans, I don't think the Bills have an established #2 WR to take any pressure off of SJ. We have guys that have the potential, but there needs to be someone to step up. It kinda reminds me of how good the Bills were when they had Moulds, Peerless, and a young up-and-coming Josh Reed. Because of the promise Reed showed, the Bills traded PP thinking that Reed would continue to develop and take pressure off of Moulds. It didn't work out that way and the Bills offense regressed tremendously with Bledsoe at the helm. We had no running game last year. As a team, the Bills scored 6 rushing TDs. That's pathetic. With a hopefully improved running game, the Bills won't be forced to throw the ball as much, thus reducing SJ's chances. The continued development of the other WRs. With Donald Jones, David Nelson, a hopefully healthy Roscoe for the entire season, and Marcus Easley all improving on their numbers from last year, the offense should be more balanced with Fitz spreading the ball around to a lot of different guys. The Bills will feature a better defense, which means the team will be in closer games and not from behind so much. SJ got a lot of garbage time looks to pad his stats last year. I can specifically think of the 1st Patriots game when he caught a TD late in the game and think about the Bengal game. We were getting destroyed down 28-7 early forcing the Bills to throw the ball more. With that said, I still think Stevie will have a good year. But I think it will end up being a season like 60-65 catches for 850 yards and 6 TDs. What do you guys think his stats will look like?
  12. Gailey talked extensively about him in his post practice press conference.
  13. Lights Out in the elevator Love the fact that Stevie is rocking a Sabres sweatshirt. Great camaraderie amongst this group thus far. No reports of fights in TC or practice.
  14. I don't know man. As others have elluded to, Roscoe just can't stay healthy and a lot of that has to do with his lack of size. In addition, we already have a wealth of special teamers who can return kicks and punts and I think that Spiller is going to take the role of what Parrish is capable of doing on offense. Plus his salary is not commensurate of what his perceived production should be. Much like Evans, who a lot of people think was moved for salary reasons, Roscoe could be lumped into this category.
  15. I have read reports from multiple sources and from people who have seen him in camp observe that he just looks like a player and jumps off the field. I am very excited about his potential, especially after seeing him make the adjustment on the throw by Thigpen. I have to agree that I think that Roscoe is the odd man out.
  16. The throw that got picked off in the endzone has nothing to do with playing with the 1st team offense. Inexcusable to make that throw. If it wasn't for the defense forcing a turnover on the ensuing possession, the Bills would've never been in position to win the game. I think Thigpen has some great tangibles, like his scrambling ability, which is superior to Fitz's, but all-in-all, I would prefer to see him relegated to a back-up role.
  17. In a sideline interview last night, Fitzy said that he was going to start to grow the beard last night.
  18. I don't think they do. They just signed a backup and a gimmick QB to 3 and 4 year deals. I think the only way he gets extended would be if he plays lights out this season and shows the front office that he can lead the team to the playoffs. Otherwise, they let him go and draft a prototypical franchise QB in the first round next year.
  19. I have noticed your crusade against SPiller in a few threads and I think it is getting to be a little stale. But we see why he is being relegated to a backup role because Jackson is such a great player that is undervalued and under appreciated. Yeah Spiller should potentially be contributing more considering his draft location, but he showed some great speed and quickness last night, even providing a key block on a blitz pick-up enabling Fitz to get a pass off. IMO, he was VERY close to breaking a long one last night, only to lose his footing on his cut. On the very next play, he had a great run and was essentially tackled by Rhinehart. Had that not happened, he would've busted it for a longer gain.
  20. Easley has shown some versatility. Big target for Fitz.
  21. Thanks. Could be a good thing. Hopefully Carrington seizes the opportunity.
  22. Our defense looks big up front. Very good thus far against the run. Where's Kelsay? So far, its been Carrington out there.
  23. I can tell you with 100% certainty that the Schuykill will flood. After living in Manayunk which is right on the Schuykill, Manayunk and the Manayunk Brew Pub suffered extensive damage from Hurricane Floyd in 1999 and more recently, suffered extensive flooding from severe rains in the fall of 2006. Here are some pictures of what it looked like: My link My g/f lives in New Hope, PA, which is where we will be riding out the storm, is right on the Delaware River. It has the propensity to flood, as a local told me yesterday, "if you look at it the wrong way". Here are some flood pictures from a flood in Spring of 2005, mostly caused by melting snow and heavy rains: My link
  24. Thunderstorms here today in Philly will break the all time record for rain in a month since they've been keeping weather records. Then Hurricane Irene remnants on Saturday and Sunday are calling for the possiblility of a 3 inches of rain which means that we are looking at a half foot of rain here in Philly over the next 4 days on a ground that has already been permeated by heavy t-storms over the past few weeks. Should be interesting.
  25. Interesting. I didn't know there were any trees or grasses in the shots at all.
