  1. If I had to choose from the 3 players, of who I would prefer, it would no doubt be Von Miller. I can see why people are skeptical. Not a history of success when teams in the past draft a LB top 5, and that his college playing weight reminds people of Aaron Maybin. But he has two years of college production, showed up to the combine at 246lbs and proceeded to have one of the best workouts EVER for a LB. He has completely backed up his gaudy numbers, was coached by Gailey's staff in the Senior Bowl and produced, and is a glaring need on this team (jury is still our on Merriman being able to make it through the season; Poz having yet established himself as a force and staying healthy; Maybin having done squat). Moats is a bright spot, but with an outside, Clay Matthews-esqu type talent rushing the passer will change games and make everyone around them better. I also wouldn't be disappointed with Gabbert either. He has shown the ability to take hits and stay in games. He had his ankled rolled up on by Suh a couple of years ago, and played the rest of the game with the injury. Plus, I think hie has a super quick release, and has shown he possesses the work ethic and smarts to get better with time. His measurables are off the charts too possessing prototypical height and above average speed. Plus Gailey has shown that he can do good things with QBs. The team has also publicly stated that while they are behind Fitzy 100%, they feel he's getting old at 28 and if they can draft a guy that will be a "franchise guy", they'll draft him. Plus Gailey has never had an elite talent (other than Aiken at the end of his career) to coach up and have "his" guy installed at the most important position in the game. The only guy I would be upset about is Peterson. Its not that I would hate it if this team drafted a CB at the #3 position. Its because I think he is the one with the largest likelihood to bust. A&M passed all over Peterson in the Cotton Bowl. Jeff Fuller, had 7 catches for 83 yards against Peterson. I wasn't that impressed.
  2. Through the first 75 minutes of the 2 hour season premiere of it, and I am floored. Visually stunning, and so far, an interesting plot twist. Very interested to see what happens moving forward.
  3. Working for CBS Radio here in Philadelphia, I can tell you that the people that booed McNabb, were part of a sports radio promotion put on by WIP 610 AM.
  4. I agree with you, but the thing is that people on TSW feel as though the Newton at #3 argument has been beaten to death, and Newton is a polarizing figure on this board. The people that responded to your initial post, are the people who don't want the Bills to draft Newton at all costs. I think he is going to be a solid pro, and comparisons to any current NFL QB are futile.
  5. McShay has us picking Gabbert...not Mayock. Big difference.
  6. Awesome. Sounds like a lot of fun Gordio. Wish I was going. Unfortunately, I have a bar mitzvah (seriously don't know how I got roped into this one) up in Boston on Saturday. I'll watch/listen when I have a chance.
  7. Dr. Mike Hanzly - South Buffalo podiatrist/bagpiper Great guy who knows how to have a good time. Great to see him recognized locally.
  8. I love Watt. I would select him over any other DE or DT in this draft.
  9. Thomas was going up against guys like Walter Jones, Willie Roaf, and Jonathan Ogden, who were not small All of them were at least 6'5" and weighed at least 320 pounds. They all played when Thomas was in the league. How exactly were they smaller and less physical? Roaf was recently nominated for the Hall of Fame in the same class that Derrick Thomas was in, and Ogden and Jones are shoe ins for the Hall of Fame. I think you're trying to make excuses for Miller, which just are unfounded. He is bigger than what Clay Matthews Jr was at this time during which he was being drafted.
  10. Love to see NGU back on the board. Thank you for providing valuable insight into the Front Office at One Bills Drive and providing unparalleled access into what is going on there. I like Miller. I posted a thread earlier comparing elite 3-4 OLBs/DEs in the NFL today and their numbers at their respective combines/pro days and compared them with some of the prospects that are entering this year's draft. I am not saying it is an exact science, but I did notice a bit of a trend with regards to their workout numbers and Miller's numbers jumped right off the page. He has everything that you could want as a pass rusher, which will make our entire defense better. He is fast enough where he can cover RBs and TEs. At his pro-day, he weighed in at 6'3" 243lbs, which is the same exact playing weight of Derrick Thomas, who one scout compared him to after his workout at College Station. Maybe they will go defense early and then, if one of the remaining QBs is there are pick #34, they will go him, but I for one would not be disappointed in taking Miller at #3.
  11. Good. I love Carimi, but I like Moffit more.
  12. Does anyone think that Carolina would like to spend a 4th draft pick on a QB in the last 2 years, or would they like to develop their defense first? Last year they drafted Clausen, Pike, and Armanti Edwards and now they have Ron Rivera as HC as a franchise looking to replace the production lost from Julius Peppers. I know it is a new regime, but it is also potential franchise suicide to allocate a 4th pick to the QB position. Considering the Panthers didn't have a 1st round pick in last years draft, and no second pick in this year's draft, they are going to have to make sure they get a player that can contribute now, because they are more than likely going to be picking at the top of the draft next year where they may be in better position to draft a QB after they assess whether or not Clausen has what it takes. I don't think they go QB #1 overall based on this.
  13. I think the better spread QB would be Gabbert then. I think his release is a little quicker, and even though he is not as big as Newton, I think he could run the ball just as effectively if need be.
  14. I don't know if having done porn is an attractive trait in a potential partner Pooj, but based on the pic, I would probably say shwang her. They say in the article that she is 38 now, but at the age of 22, when she was a homeless mother of 2, she began stripping which lead to porn. I wonder how her children feel about this now
  15. THey're not called Samoas anymore, right? I think they're Caramel Delights now. Anyone know the reason for the name change?
  16. I agree. I would prefer Von Miller at #3 if we decide to go LB that early and I hope we don't go QB in rounds 2 or 3. If we do go QB, I hope it's in round 1 or in round 6 or later.
  17. It could probably have been a way for him to not "hurt" his draft stock. He probably had gotten word from the NFL Draft Advisory Board that he could be a 1st round pick and didn't want to affect that assessment. He is definitely going to throw at the Missouri Pro-Day with WRs that he is familiar with. I like Gabbert a lot. People think his spread offense background is a detriment to what he can do in the NFL, but if I recall, Fitzpatrick and the Bills offense revolved heavily around the spread and shotgun formations. If you look at the Patriots offense, they predicate their entire philosophy around the shotgun and short, quick screens to fast WRs. In a lot of ways, Gabbert can be that kind of QB, and, he has one of the quickest Aaron Rodgers-esque releases that I have seen. The only thing that concerns me about Gabbert, is in footage I have seen of him, when his primary option is covered, he scrambles in the pocket rather than standing strong and looking for other options. He often rolls out, away from his primary option towards other options, and the play almost becomes improvised. In the NFL, he has to trust his pocket, and trust his pre-snap reads.
  18. Special K is what this is called. Never have done it, but have seen people do Ketamine as strong as elephant tranquilizers, and, they just look like a puddle of sh*t.
  19. Tough decision, but I went with Quinn. I wouldn't mind 9 of those players listed, including JJ Watt, but Quinn has the chance to become something really special if he can stay healthy. I wouldn't be surprised if he is gone by the time we pick though.
  20. If anyone saw LSU's Bowl Game against A & M, you would have seen a Texas A & M WR have a career day against Peterson. No thank you.
  21. ...JJ Watt He was a legitimate top-10 pick coming into the Combine, and after this performance, I think he's worthy of a top 5 pick. He's big, strong, quick, versatile, very productive, and is a tremendous athlete. 6'6 290 lbs. 4.78 40 37" Vertical 10" Broad Jump 34 Reps 4.21 Shuttle 6.88 3 Cone Stats: 61 tackles, 20.5 TFLs, 7 sacks, 10 QB hurries, 7 PDs, 1 INT, 3 FFs, and 3 blocked kicks. He can play as a base 43 end, can move inside on obvious passing downs as an UT, and play as a 5-technique in a 3-4 scheme. He's faster than I thought, he's stronger than I thought, he uses his hands well, he loves the game, he is a great team mate, the guy's starting his own foundation for sick children, etc. Really can't find too many knocks on him. He is going to be a great pro, and the more I think about it, the more I would take him over a guy like Bowers, Fairley, or Cam Jordan. P.S. Bret Bielema said he had the biggest hand he ever seen and he uses them well. 11 1/8th, biggest recorded at the combine...
