  1. My team: QB: Eli, Bradford RB: McFadden, Beanie Wells, Felix Jones, Bernard Scott WR: Calvin Johnson, Vincent Jackson, Brandon Marshall, Steve Smith, Robert Meachem, Denarius Moore TE: Jimmy Graham K: Alex Henery D/ST: Detroit I was stacked at WR and weak at QB, so I packaged: VJax Beanie Wells Eli for Philip Rivers James Starks Aaron Hernandez It is a standard scoring 12 team league with 4pt passing TDs and 6pts for rushing and receiving TDs. No PPR. We start a QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR/RB/TE Flex, K, D/ST.
  2. I wouldn't do that trade either. You are dealing from a position of strength with your two RBs. For one of those guys (Rice and McCoy), it would have to be for a #1 WR and at least a decent #2 RB like Hightower, Fred Jackson, or Felix Jones. Use Cam Newton as trade bait to strengthen your WR Corp. He should fetch a #1 WR to a QB weak team no problem.
  3. With her line of thinking, if a student, who has a history of poor grades then receives a great grade in class, that student shouldn't get excited and should continue to abandon hope because of the student's past performance. Make sense? My response: Ms. Gish, I hope this email finds you well! Having grown up in the Captial District with some existing ties to the area, I read the TU regularly as a way to maintain a connection to the land that I am most familiar with. I love hearing about the politics in Albany, reading about the Siena Saints, Saratoga, etc, however after reading your article yesterday, I was a little miffed by some of its contents. I wasn't so much upset at the reference to the devotion some of these people you discuss in your article (the 82 year old woman, the mother of the 17 year old that is the season ticket holder, or the gentleman who started the Bills Backers bar in Albany as a safe haven for fellow Bills fans), or that even though Ralph Wilson Stadium is farther away from Albany than the Meadowlands (even thought the Meadowlands are in the Jerz), I was more upset that in spite of the Bills having started off the season with two consecutive wins, you suggest Bills fans to temper their enthusiasm and expect the worst. Just because an underachieving student performs well on a test or class and recieves an "A" doesn't mean that student should be looked upon with past performance in mind and to temper expectations. There is reason to hope, and the same thing can be said with Bills Nation. Sports are rather trivial in the grand scheme of things, however, if one can achieve unbridled enthusiasm based on the performance of their favorite sports team, let them be jovial, hopeful. Because if it wasn't for hope, what would any of us have? Best Always, Jonathan Muzio
  4. Having grown up just outside of Saratoga and having read the ATU on a regular basis, I take some offense to this. Not because of the 82 year old woman, or the referencing of Buffalo almost being in Canada, but because she suggests that the Bills fans should abandon hope even though there are signs that this team is on the up and up.
  5. This is exactly what I came here to post. You say that BB is the master game planner. Well, the Bills have shown they can put up points this year and haven't been turning the ball over. Last year, in the 2nd game against the Patriots, they didn't have Aaron Hernandez, who was out with an injury. Brady had a very pedestrian game throwing for only 140 yards. However, the Patriots ran for more than 200 yards. They forced 7 Bills turnovers and won 34-3. Everyone is expecting a high scoring shootout on Sunday. While it could end up that way, I think the Patriots rely on the run to keep the Bills offense off the field. The Bills still haven't shown they have the ability to stop the run effectively, and with the Patriots 2 TE based offense missing one of its key components, they are going to run the ball more to set up the PA, which Brady is so effective at.
  6. Considering he had a breakout year with 82 catches last year for over 1000 yards and 10 TDs, he is already on pace for 96 catches and over 1200 yards and just as many TDs. I think he has shown that he is no fluke and he deserves the $8M/year. If not, he always has his rap career to fall back on.
  7. I was just about to post this. This would be huge for the Bills, because a lot of what the Pats do on O is predicated around the two TEs they have. From what I read, Hernandez is likely out 1-2 weeks with the MCL sprain.
  8. Another poster who thinks our QBs name is Fitzgerald
  9. I posted a link to a story from a credible news source and surmised the contents of the story in my post. That doesn't constitute slander. Also note that I use the words "allegedly" and quoted a lot of my post from the person who wrote the biography. At no point did I formulate these accusations and took credit for them as my own. I think you have a skewed representation of what "slander" is and I think you would be better off just being the life of the party.
  10. After watching the DEN/OAK game this past Monday, it seemed he got hurt on a viscious facemask penalty. He was running like a man possessed. Finishing his runs and lowering his shoulder rather than running out of bounds. He scares me this week.
  11. My sentiments exactly. I, for one, was all for the Bills to draft a developmental QB this last draft to sit behind Fitz and hold the clip board this year.
  12. I found this from the New York Times 5th down blog yesterday and wrote a post about it: My link
  13. Book hasn't come out yet but Glen Rice has confirmed the quotes from the book.
  14. My link With former NBAer Glen Rice Apparently this happened just 9 months before her marriage to her husband, whom she also cheated on with his business partner later on in their lives. And, according to the new biography, she has done cocaine in the past. This was all written by a guy who moved to house next door to her.
  15. My link The Bills are only a handful of teams that had less than 6 wins from the previous year, to go into their season opener as a large underdog on the road, and cover the spread by more than 30 points. The few teams that had satisfied the same criteria, went on to win at least half of their games, with 2 of them advancing to the playoffs. In addition, the Bills had the worst turnover margin in the league last year coupled with the hardest schedule in the AFC. Research shows that teams with the worst TO margin averaged almost 5 wins that year. However, the next year, those teams with the worst TO margin rebounded to average almost 8 wins the following year. Lots of reasons to be excited Bills fans.
  16. I think it could be this. Unfortunately, I think Easley will never play a down for the Bills.
  17. Didn't see too much pressure up the middle after Koppen went down. Precisely the reason why Brady was able to throw for more than 500 and the Pats were able to pile up 622 yards of total offense. I don't know if the Bills are "built" to beat the Pats.
  18. As CMJ said, they can always franchise him and then hammer out a long term deal. If they can do this it would mean they wouldn't have to pay him the average salary of the top 5 at his position. Signing him to a long term deal would give him the guarenteed amount of money, but lower his cap number immediately. Same can be said for Fitz, but I think Fitz's potential extension is directly correlated to the success of this team. If they overachieve and he has a great year, I think he gets the extension.
  19. People talk about Spiller being a bust. All they have to do is look at McFadden, who didn't become a factor until his 3rd year. He is quick and shifty and from what I saw of him yesterday, he was finishing his runs, lowering his shoulder, and putting a hit on the defense rather than running out of bounds. Their running attack is a potent 3 headed monster comprised of McFadden, Bush, and Marcell Reese with a little Jacoby Ford mixed in. We beat them if we are able to stop the run and pressure Campbell, who looks lost at times. Their defense was everywhere as well. With Seymore anchoring the D-Line and Rolando McClain in the middle of the LB corp they are big. They also forced a lot of incompletions from normally accurate Orton last night as well, which shows me that they don't miss Asomugha as much as some people think they would. The thing that we have going for us is that they have to travel across the country on a short week and play a 1pm game, which is what I think will be the difference maker.
