No it's a HC and Whaley issue. Get your analysis right -
Packers at Bills - 1st Half Game Thread

Good luck with that -
Surely the OC has to take some blame for this offense. But he has a rather limited set of plays to go from. For example, I cant for the life of me picture Orton throwing a fade to his WR in the EZ, do you ? If Marrone had hired an experienced OC last year, we would be singing a slightly different tune, IMO.

Bears may trade Cutler in offseason...
Fan in Chicago replied to RCOHEN13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And I daresay for every team in this league. But despite that, there will be teams willing to trade for him. Just hope its not the Bills. Sure he wasn't. Right after he cuddled up to the powers that be who bitchslapped Kromer into a public apology. -
The Possibly Intriguing QB Trade Market
Fan in Chicago replied to Bills Fan since '64's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even the hint of read-option with Orton at QB would kill opposing DCs with laughter -
Simon - appears to be shocking to me. Whaley was given the keys but someone else chose the car for him? At what point did/does he get the authority to make this his team top to bottom? History has shown Nix to be a nice man but incompetent at team building. Whose choice was EJ?? Good to see you chime in, BTW. However infrequently

Jay Gruden May Be Shown The Door.
Fan in Chicago replied to george c's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do not advocate giving up on him but there will have to be a decision made regarding the QB position and IMO, the primary solution won't include our current QBs. It will be a tough call regarding who to let go but there is no way the FO goes into next season with these two as our only QBs. -

First of all, if by chance we acquire RGIII, it will certainly say that EJ is done in Buffalo. But given RGIII's quals, his draft status and his rookie year performance, a healthy (mentally and physically) would be far better than EJ. Your second point is well taken but I really don't see how Hackett survives this off-season. IMO, he is gone for sure and Marrone by association. Or by defiance of Whaley. -
The only ones who have let anyone down is us fans ourselves. As you pointed out, considering Orton's long history, there really was no reason to believe he is anything more than a 0.500 QB. He did not declare himself to be the savior of the franchise or a HOF QB. He just signed towards the end of the offseason. He was the best available but that is not saying a lot.

What would it take to pry Ryan Nassib out of NY ?
Fan in Chicago replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But, but Marrone sucks. ergo, Nassib must be good. A tangent here, but would you be surprised if Coughlin is fired and the new staff hitches their wagon to Nassib thus making ELI available ? -

Okie dokie. Now your post makes sense. My opinion is that the main culprit is Shanahan. That idiot continued to let RGIII play when it was clear the dude was hobbling. I wonder what that did to the rook's psyche. Maybe his steep decline this season is in part to being spooked. By and large, RGIII appeared last year to be a balanced player mentally. I don't care about the negative press surrounding him especially the picture that Jay Gruden is painting. If RGIII were to become available in the offseason, I hope we take a long and hard look at him, his skills, physical and mental health. -
9 Who Should Be On The Way Out .....

I disagree with you and am going to leave it at that. You cannot underestimate how much a mediocre QB can hamper the Offense from a scheme and execution perspective. -

Et tu, 26Corner ? You too are jumping on the anti-Marrone wagon ? I agree with much of what dave writes above. If you blame him for the O personnel, then by the same yardstick have to give him credit for the DC and D personnel. I have said it several times and will continue to say it until proven otherwise. Top 15 QB play and an experienced OC would put this team deep into the playoffs. With Marrone as HC -
Letting Levitre go and not signing a good replacement hurts to this day and will in the near future. This is why we sometimes need to overpay or, at a minimum, have a solid backup plan.

What if Mike Williams becomes a patriot?

Not sure Orton even has it. -
Oh nice. I suppose you and Big Cat may have found common ground. Finally. :-)

Mathematically, we win the Superbowl. Footbally (!!), this is most likely an 8-8 season. -

I have no idea what your post means. Besides the fact that he is Jay and not Jon Gruden, what does developing McCoy have anything to do with this ? By most reports, RG III has not put in the effort this year to play the position. Cousins turned out to be a turnover machine. I have no idea how Jay Gruden is doing in other aspects of coaching but as for QB, what exactly has he done wrong ? -
Nice ! Where do you find this stuff ?

Refs Fist Bump After Broncos TD
Fan in Chicago replied to Braedenstearns's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they may hvae been congratulating each other for the good communication or simultaneous call as the article alludes to. I can believe it was not a conspiracy that they were celebrating the success of. Problem in my eyes is that the refs have to maintain an image much like everyone else on the field. They need to be totally emotionless and especially in a situation like this (a TD), they have to be aware that cameras and eyes will be on them totally. They should not have done anything but signal the TD. -
"That was a ball faced lie. I'm not one to bash Marrone on a daily basis, but don't insult our intelligence." In this thread...

Orton sliding one yard shy of the 1st down.
Fan in Chicago replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess this is a bit of a tangent but let us indulge for a moment. IMHO, Marrone had to make the switch at the time he did. He must have seen EJ struggling and expecting other teams to pile on and make him even more confused. We all had to see what Orton gives us else there would be this constant 'why is EJ still playing' vibe which would rub negatively against everyone. Also, at the time, the players also were in support of an EJ benching. Orton did give us a bit of a bump and also allowed EJ to step back, breathe and hopefully learn a thing or two (hopefully he didnt learn to slide 2 yards short of the 1st down marker). The benching was entirely logical and now we know why Orton is only backup caliber much like Fitz -
Did anyone see the Graham penalty on Gilmores INT?
Fan in Chicago replied to klos63's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whats with the snarky tone there ? If you also did not know exactly what happened, why rag on the other posters for incorrect rule interpretations ? Perhaps a 'we don't have enough information to make accusations' is more appropriate.
