  1. Hope they don't forget to invite Aikman to that party
  2. A QB. They had a premium pick in a QB rich draft and blew it. Now they will be left with trying to trade up to get someone they like. As good as Barkley has been, a QB could have transitioned into behind Manning and kept that position solved for a long time.
  3. Of those, I would say Cousins is also not a certainty. Panthers may still sneak in.
  4. Unless they are looking for bridge QBs which Tom Coughlin very well might look for.
  5. I am sure he didnt https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Skelton_(American_football)
  6. So your rationale for foster not being on the team next year is based on him not being a good ST'er ? I am not sure how the rest of this season plays out but he has shown a lot of growth since the offseason. We will wait and see but I expect him to be on the team next year. As for Jones, I cannot recall anybody proclaiming him to be a star at any point in is NFL career. That he has improved is undeniable and is supported by data (catch %, drop %). As of now, he is also a work in progress and needs to show consistency. But again, nobody on this board has projected him to be a #1 WR or even a sure-shot #2.
  7. After seeing his performances the past couple of weeks and his rapid improvement, do you really believe that ?
  8. If it is a chronic problem, how did the Chiefs medical staff not catch it? Seems strange that they would sign him to a rich contract knowing the foot (feet?) problems would hinder his continued availability
  9. Will those weeks also come with endless posts by TaskersGhost about how Allen didn't throw for 6 TDs ?
  10. "hands of Clay" . I dont know if I should laugh or cry. https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nfl/miami-dolphins/article222522605.html
  11. This is exactly why I pin this drop entirely on Clay. The QB was scrambling, Clay was wide open, Allen somehow gets it close to the EZ. The ball was traveling for a while with no pressure on Clay. He had adequate time to judge the ball and where he needed to be - inside the 5 yard line. Clay has no excuses. And esp in Miami where he could have caught it and proverbially thumbed his nose at the Dolphins and yet he came up real small. Not so much on Allen as he wasnt sitting comfortably in the pocket waiting for someone to get open. It was a desperation throw, under pressure, in a non-ideal throwing position.
  12. Exactly. First thing tomorrow morning, show Clay the door and kick him out just to be sure.
  13. OTOH, here are teams which I think are quite entertaining: - Saints: terrific offense - Rams: Kinda same as Saints but I like their D better - Chiefs: purely for Mahomes - Bears: Surprise pick cos in all my years of living in this area, never once felt like cheering for this team. But this year is fun and their EZ celebrations are pure gold, I tell ya
  14. Honestly this is the third game of the Saints I have seen. Not enough to evaluate their overall performance. But I did check the stats and they have been terrible in pass D. They won the shootout with the Rams but we have seen this story before where a high scoring Offense is stalled by a team better on all sides of the ball. Why do you think they are the favorites to win it all? Knowing you probably watch them every week...
  15. To win? They need to fix their pass defense big time. Else up know what a Brady will do to it. I think the team to watch out for is the Steelers
  16. Man, you are spoon feeding him. I just linked Shaw's post as I wanted JPS to at least do a little work and not just throw out lazy takes.
  17. Yes Woods was a better catcher out the gates and Jones is roughly on path to equal Woods' rookie season. Well understood that Jones took a longer time to adjust to the NFL. But note that while Jones is on track for roughly a 600 yard season, Woods never crossed 700 yards with the Bills in any season. As for blocking, Jones had a good pass block and also a block on the McKenzie TD run. He is definitely getting better. Woods was pretty much the same player throughout his Bills career and is having a career year in this his 7th season with a red hot Goff throwing to him, with a very pass-happy offense and some very good complementary WRs. Jones has has squat across from him and a rookie throwing to him. Not sure which exact season of Woods you are comparing Jones' to but dont you see a good upward trajectory ? I dont harbor hopes of Jones developing into a #1 but think he can be a good #2 or at worst a #3 if he continues growing.
  18. This post will help. Start reading about half way into the first post and then let us know what you think
  19. disappointment is understandable with Rodgers but I struggle to understand if it's the roster building or the coaching which is most at fault. I would like to see the Rodgers-led Pack to win another before he retires (unless it's against the Bills of course). Pics? ?
  20. I recognize that his scrambling (and now rushing) skills are a big asset. But him being the crown jewel, I would rather forego a first down if it helps keep him healthy. Of course we need to wait before we proclaim him to be our long term answer. But as Augie and several others have said, all you look for in a rookie is continued progress. It's undeniable that he is showing that and, last Sunday , it was against a good defense.
  21. But there is no harm in recognizing that the kid has moxie, doesnt appear flustered, is not making too many bone-headed mistakes and is picking up things pretty fast. Or do you have a hidden bias of him being a bad QB ?
  22. Right - seeing him run maybe fun but he needs to avoid the hits and maybe slide a tad earlier if it means an avoided hit.
  23. I also do not understand how he and Benjamin are surviving on a team where McBeane preach accountability repeatedly. I am not sure he will be gone but I certainly hope so. Related note - I remember our STs being very good in the Superbowl years.
  24. Jags still had a good defense so putting up 24 offensive points was impressive for such an undermanned Offense. As for Allen, most such hypotheticals are by definition unanswerable.
