  1. This. A terrible spot. Josh landed on the ball at the 1. CBS didn’t even show a replay. I rewound my tv feed. No idea how the spotter in the sky didn’t move the ball up. If we lost that game, that’s ’no goal’ level bad. The difference between the 1 and 2 yard line is huge.
  2. Might use Von more in an extra Linebacker role today to spy lamar and help against the run. Same with Rousseau. I’m going big upfront with Smoot, Jones, Phillips. and maybe even Oliver at End. Rousseau and Von as extra Lineman/LB. We cannot have Bernard, Milano, Taron, hamlin, Rapp consistently taking on Ricard and Henry.
  3. I’m putting Dorian in for Hamlin. Make Lamar beat you over the top.
  4. Chargers run a 2015 offense. This ain’t the same NFL when harbaugh was with the 49ers.
  5. With our offense, it only takes a couple stops from the defense. I’m hoping McDermott has learned his lesson that against the good teams/QB’s it’s better to take chances and give up some big plays than let them methodically march down the field and make you die a slow death and while keeping our offense off the field.
  6. Guys I wouldn’t risk injuring: Josh, all 3 RB’s, both tight ends, Cooper, Shakir, all 5 starting OL, Von, Groot, Oliver, Epenesa, Daquan, Milano, Bernard, Taron, both starting CB’s, Rapp, and maybe Lewis and Ingram. That leaves Trubisky, Gilliam, practice squad RB, Anderson, Van Pran, Vandemark, 2 practice squad OL, Hollins, Coleman, Shavers, Virgil, Morris, Davidson. Then Smoot, Carter, Jefferson, Solomon, 2 practice squad DL, buffalo joe, Dorian, Morrow, Ulofishio, Elam, Codrington, Ingram or Lewis, Bishop, practice squad DB. If you only get 3 call-ups, I’m doing them all on offense and playing both ingram and lewis and Phillips.
  7. They really have no talent left on defense. It was 4th and 5.
  8. He’s a good player but not a guy who consistently gets pressure on the QB or demands a double team. I like him but he shouldn’t get paid as a top edge rusher. Will be a tough decision because he does make some winning plays and some team with a load of cap room might over pay him.
  9. Until they change the rules to not favor the offense, continue drafting offense early and spending most of your money on offense. I like Rousseau and Benford but i’m not breaking the bank for them.
  10. A lot to work with but seems a bit mechanical. For a guy who makes some big mistakes, you’d like to see some more big plays.
  11. come playoff time, we could use a physical sticky CB when the refs put the flags away. Not sure Elam can clean up his hands enough to not be a liability, but I’d give him more chances the next 2 weeks.
  12. I wanna like Elam because we need a CB that can run with the elite WR’s but he’s just too handsy and will continue to get picked on.
  13. Of course it will. It’s still an undersized reactive defense. Good QB’s with a physical run game playing playoff football will absolutely gash this defense like the past 5 years. This year will be no different.
  14. Find somebody other than Dorian to take off the field to get Milano on. We have enough undersized back 7 guys as it is. Dorian might not be the greatest in coverage but least he can take on and shed a blocker.
  15. Dorian is our only physical downhill LB. Replacing him with another small back 7 defender didn’t help today.
  16. Amen. Mcdermott doesn’t deserve to coach him.
  17. 3rd and 17 with 3 minutes left, I bet we had a better than 50% chance of winning. Play a gutless conservative 10 yard cushion and give them 12 yards so they can go for it on 4th and 5 where you send a 4 man rush that didn’t get home the entire game. Then we probably still have a 35% chance of winning if we kept all 3 timeouts for the last minute, but it drops to 7.7% after idiotically burning that timeout.
  18. idiotic. he should apologize to every person in that locker room.
  19. par for the course. idiotic decision to run it on 1st down
  20. His defenses fold like a cheap suit when other teams offense is hot. Not a recipe for a long run in playoffs when you’re playing hood offenses.
  21. Not really. He’s a very good to excellent regular season coach. Gotta get to a super bowl. He’s probably elevated himself to Marty Schottenheimer territory.
  22. With private equity now involved, expect every penny to be squeezed out of fans and ticket holders if it wasn’t already.
  23. it’s an extremely subjective call when it’s above the goalpost, similar to when the ball is punted out of bounds and where they determine it went out.
  24. Weird how much Herbert is running around and with no regard for his body. He almost got his head taken off running into a sack earlier. That last fumble was him running into 2 defenders. He’s not gonna last the season playing like this.
