  1. Suicide bombing instructor accidentally blows up Iraqi suicide bombers in training http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2014/02/suicide_bombers_killed_accident_suicide_bombing_class_iraq.html#incart_m-rpt-2
  2. FWIW (from MMQB): 5. I think if you wondered why Ken Whisenhunt took the Tennessee job instead of Detroit, remember two things: He might not have gotten the Detroit job, and Tennessee was willing to pay him a premium to accept its job Monday instead of waiting for whatever happened in Detroit. “The Lions were still involved in their process,” Whisenhunt told me, “and they felt strongly about coach [Jim] Caldwell, and Tennessee moved quickly.” That’s code for, “I had better take the job with the offer on the table.” (http://mmqb.si.com/2014/01/20/peyton-manning-richard-sherman-monday-morning-quarterback/7/)
  3. Leave it to the NFL to take all the originality and personality out of the conference trophies!
  4. And while we're at it - did I mention how much I hate those people at work that get raises when I don't? And don't get me started on lottery winners.....
  5. "Foley’s four children range in age from 7 to 15, Sullivan said." Prayers going out to those poor kids. Given how middle and high school kids treat each other, they will have to move away to avoid the abuse they will be taking.
  6. I searched and found an app called "Earth Porn" that has amazingly gorgeous photos of places all over the Earth. Very Cool....all it needs is a heavy-breathing soundtrack.
  7. In span of a week, i moved up to a smart phone (iphone 5c) and a smart TV (LG 39" LN5700). I'm interested in hearing about your favorite apps for these devices. Thanks! P.S. apologies for starting new thread - just found jboyst's thread from October.....additional suggestions welcome though - I have already checked most of those out in the app store.
  8. Gee...I never thought of me being in a "social circle" - I just assumed we were degenerates
  9. Williamsville North Class of 77 here. I was in Niagara Falls delivering Royal Crown pop when the storm hit and I got stranded in the Howard Johnson's for two days. My sister and my buddy finally came and got me; I was shooting hoops with popcorn into the trash can and nearly insane by the time they got me. We spent the next week making runs each day to the Niagara County Produce at Millersport and Transit using a sled to haul a case of Genny Cream Ale pounders home. We were walking down Tonawanda Creek Road and saw a wire sticking up out of a snowdrift....dug down to find it was a car antenna....thankfully no one was inside!
  10. I'm happy to see in this thread that leadership is holding the OP accountable!
  11. She makes me wanna fly Southwest! http://whoisthathotadgirl.tumblr.com/post/47625599416/q-who-is-the-hot-flight-attendant-at-the-end-of
  12. looks like he took a shot to the pair!
  13. Just trying to clarify a thread that seems misleading in it's title and OP. Not that that's ever been done here.
  14. Where are you getting your weather forecast? Weather.com doesn't mention rain until tomorrow afternoon and only a quarter inch total. Also, isn't the field surface artificial (field turf)? http://www.weather.c...A USMA0046:1:US
  15. Copies of the Bills' annual highlight films dating back to 1960 are still out there; many can be found on YouTube. Complete broadcasts of regular season and playoff games prior to the 1970s are very rare, but some exist (none for Bills to my knowledge), but are worth checking out on YouTube. There is a condensed video version of the 1965 AFL Championship game floating around; i have a copy and it's pretty cool. It was also broadcast by Channel 7 (I think) in the early 1990s when the Bills were making their first Super Bowl runs. There are radio broadcasts of the 1964 and 1965 AFL Championship games around; I have both and they are also very cool. The big hit by Stratton on Lincoln in the 1964 game was not portrayed as significantly as it has become in Bills lore. That one also seems to have been recorded by someone listening to the game on the radio with a tape recorder next to the radio...you can hear the family noises in the background!
  16. He means he'll need lotion and Puffs, but not all in one.
  17. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24383116/whats-the-most-popular-td-celebration-in-the-nfl-heres-an-audit Haven't drilled in far enough to see if the Bills are featured......but oddly enough, "doing nothing notable" is the most frequent form of celebration!
  18. In the Christmas spirit.....
  19. I've watched the video probably a dozen times...I'm not sure if she speaks or not. I better watch it again.
  20. This caught my eye; I subsequently saw this, and wondered if she could bench press more than me....with those pecs, I'm pretty sure she can. http://www.atlantafa...94-1cd2c34c62ce
  21. Baaaaaaad use of this verb - is this already on the list of TBDisms?
  22. Tim Graham? Is that you?? Are you back for good?
  23. Shows you what happens when you have no QB - Dennis Shaw wasn't anywhere near as good as he was as a rookie, and I don't think he had the players' confidence either.
  24. I don't understand how your topic question relates to the 901 words that follow (MS Word - yea technology!). You ask if technology is marginalizing the NFL, and as I understand the term "marginalize", you're asking if technology is making the NFL "trivial" or "insignificant". But your post doesn't really state a position relative to the question - but you do make exquisite use of those "quotey" marks Technology is enhancing the enjoyment of the game for me, but I don't get the connection in asking if it has "marginalized" the NFL. P.S. Hang on - I just checked the 3am post time of the OP. NOW I get it! Never mind!
  25. It's amazing that seemingly not too long ago (yes, it was 40+ years - but, but.....I'm old), black QBs were an anomaly and the attitudes captured in this article were real. I was 10 years old when trhe Bills dratfed James Harris and I remember what a big deal it was and the attention they got over it. OJ wrote a book about his rookie year (Education of a Rich Rookie) and he captured quite well the tension in the team over Harris starting the 1969 season. It was also disturbing to read how behind the times the Bills wer ein the late 60s and early 70s compared to true "professional" teams - no wonder we sucked - but I loved them and still do! It's also a little sad to see Lou Saban portrayed in a bad light - but apparently he had his weaknesses.
