It’s not the prank call - it’s that the source was from inside the NFL, a coach’s son, and the optics of poor security of personally identifiable information. Do they also have player’s SS # in their databases? Perhaps for background checks there might be a lot of sensitive data in a coach’s hands, and this incident creates suspicion about data security. Not to mention it is super embarrassing for a league that struggles with PR in personnel matters.

I read where they had met when she was 21; so maybe there’s some additional embarrassment or concern people might further intrude in their business.

Why is this theory only “potentially” stupid, that’s what I wanna know.

I think the issue is that the call originated from an “in house” NFL “family member” and the potential optics of personal data breach. The prank itself is secondary. It’s just a really, really bad look for the NFL. The shocking part is the kid outed himself online. He must be a real meathead.

Is it really that hard to get a fast guy to run a post and take a CB and S with him? Then hit the open spot under. Even if the WR sucks, they still gotta cover him.
