  1. That is not an attractive baby, but it's so close to Brody's looks, it's amazing. I wondered if they shaved it's head to get that receding orange hairline look....
  2. Didn't we already do that? We didn't cut him because we didn't have to - his contract expired. We brought him in for the last three games of 2009 and let him walk.
  3. Watched the first two episodes last night. Really liked both episodes, but the scene where Carrie was bathing her baby and letting it slip under water got really uncomfortable. That was pretty sick. Stick to blowing up wedding parties Homeland!!
  4. Also not new, but new to me: First Aid Kit http://www.npr.org/event/music/348966091/front-row-first-aid-kit-my-silver-lining
  5. Basten spoke briefly. "I would like to apologize for my actions," she said. There - we're all good now, right?
  6. Agreed - one of the last of the "classic" play-by-play guys left. I think he may be situated on the west coast and tries to limit his games to those in the west? I remember Charlie Jones did that.
  7. Yeah, I have never participated there - just happened to catch a glimpse. Not much of an enticement to spend any time there! Oh, and I missed the "snow" when I first caught it......
  8. "Whitaker was able to grab the ax from Hiser and hit her in the face and ran out of the room and called police, the report states." Well, that explains her mug shot!
  9. Whenever I look to peruse TSW, I sometimes catch a quick glimpse of the shoutbox; today my glance revealed: ".....my mom has pics of me snow blowing in shorts and t-shirt" WHOA - that freaked me out there for a second!
  10. http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/92155-origin-of-bills-charging-logo/ From the above; read more at link: Today's Buffalo News has an article noting the passing of Stevens Wright, credited with creating the Bills' charging bison logo which debuted in 1974. The article says Wright, who had worked as a free-lance artist for NFL Properties, came up with the logo on his own. However, Howard University, whose nickname is the Bison and whose logo is virtually identical to the Bills', claim the logo was created for them by a Howard art major in the 60s. Because they didn't copyright their logo, the Bills were able to take it for themselves.
  11. Kevin Drake - he was WR in 1999 preseason. Never made a stat sheet. I only know this because I have his #15 home jersey (bought it when they used to sell game worn jerseys - I took the random player option. They don't get any more random than Kevin Drake)
  12. bump I like this thread better than the other one.
  13. I would be shocked if the Bills didn't know everything that was in that article. I bet they took Mayock's approach and decided to spin the wheel on the prospect with the best combination of physical skills and potential, knowing it was a crapshoot. Bet they thought they could "coach him up". Unfortunately, it was a bad year for QBs when they needed one badly. True to Bills' luck, the year they needed one, there wasn't a slam dunk available, and their choice of Kolb was equally doomed (in true Bills' fashion). Maybe one will fall in our lap next year.....before Orton gets alcohol poisoning.
  14. His remark from 2011 about having the fans start drinking early was pretty funny, as was the team's attempt to put lipstick on a pig
  15. He clearly has a case of TES - Trent Edwards Syndrome. Fatal.
  16. Too bad he couldn't "tow" that wreck of an offense out of the ditch......
  17. I can't believe I can't buy an Orton jersey in the Bills store. WTF? Then I saw he's #18 - didn't the Bills retire Kay Stephenson's old number???
  18. Had a really great experience down there. It was my girlfriend and my nephew and his wife. We entered Gate 2 as soon as it opened and went right down to the field. I was surprised we didn't have any escort - just some staff keeping people moving out of off-limits areas. Was second in line in the scoreboard end zone, watching Bills warm up. Got great photos and saw some really nice gestures by Aaron Williams, Mike Williams, Leodis and CJ to make special efforts to give kids a chance to have a photo, or to get a glove or football. That was really great to see - the kids' looks were priceless. One funny thing that stood out - Aaron Williams was out there very early and there was a 20-something girl in the end zone seats with a big pink heart sign for #23. After a few minutes he went over to her and said something, then asked her for her marker. He took off both shoes and proceeded to sign them both. The girl was so excited with anticipation, standing with her hand over her mouth like she couldn't believe what was happening. Then Williams gave her back her pen, picked up his shoes and walked away, threw a glove to a kid standing on the field and ran off the field. The girl was left standing there with her mouth hanging open, dumbfounded.....for a full minute. If it wasn't so sad for her, it would have been pretty funny. OK, it WAS pretty funny. Kind of like a "Punk'd" show.
  19. From the linked article: "While the number of gates dropped from nine to six as part of the $130 million in improvements that debuted last week, the new entrances were almost doubled in size, said Berchtold. ". There isn't one super gate - there are six and the total entrance area is greater than before, even with fewer gates.
  20. Hey hey HEY!! Us old guys leered, err, appreciated them too!
  21. There used to be a gorgeous young woman that would lead groups onto he sideline preface. Missed out on that too Thanks to Jack and others for the heads up on what to expect - looking forward to this!
  22. Have an opportunity to be on the field pregame this week and was hoping to get some inside information on what to expect......other than rain and t-storms. Have always wanted to do this and finally know the right people!
