  1. I'm afraid you are correct there. They will win enough games against crappy teams to take them out of the geno sweepstakes (if Geno is rated that highly). It happens every year.
  2. Are you making this up about Fitz ignoring David Lee's advise, or is there some substance to it? I had hope in the offseason that Fitz could be coached to fix his deficiencies. He has regressed, rather than improved. Are you talkin' sh&% here, or is there substance to it?
  3. Fitz just flings that ball up there like it's a friggin' hail mary!!! It must be fun playing as an opposing DB against Fitz. You know your time will come soon enough. Just wait for a 3rd a 2....
  4. Cover 0, and The Lace Curtain for that awesome (aw, sh&%) D-line...
  5. Unfortunately, pink seems the perfect color for the Bills 2012 defense...
  6. Defensively, the refusal to blitz (ever!) makes them seem very weak IMO. Offensively, the frequent empty backfield indicates weakness as well. "Oh don't worry, we won't try to sneak a run in there. We've got Ryan Fitzpatrick, you know..." Weak all around. I have lost a lot of respect for Gailey due to the Bills' mental softness.
  7. I am very happy they had the guts to cut Moorman and sign Powell. When a punter is the team's best player for most of the decade, the team has some serious issues. I wish Brian well, he was a great guy in the community, too. But it was time to move on to a young guy with a lot of upside.
  8. That's what I was thinking. The Browns pass rushers busting through the Ravens line. The Bills OLine is really solid. And Cordy Glenn as the new guy, holy crap. Nice pick, Buddy.
  9. The timing is odd, but like Trent Edwards, I think they were giving Moorman one more chance. I was excited when they signed Shaun Powell as a UDFA, and thought he would beat out Moorman in camp. A big (6'4", 245) young guy who studies his craft, can also kick off through the end zone. See the linked article (may not be currently available). It seems possible to me that he could replace John Potter as the long kickoff guy, but I don't know if they tried Powell in that role in training camp. http://www.buffalone...ticle861649.ece The article talks about working with ex-Bill Greg Cater. Here is an excerpt: Cater now works as a pastor in Rome, Ga. But he has been working with Powell since he was 16 on his punting mechanics. "From the first time I worked with him it was obvious he was special," Cater said. "I remember the first time I let him tee the ball up and kick off for me at Darlington [high school]. There's a row of evergreens behind the end zone. He nailed that thing over the evergreens. I said, 'You've got the leg strength. All we need to do is point you in the right direction.'" Powell averaged a nation's-best 47.0 yards per punt as a senior at Florida State. His net average of 41.2 yards was second best in the nation. Equally impressive was the fact only 37 percent of his punts were returned. Opposing returners fair-caught 40 percent of his punts. Powell put 21 punts inside the 20, and he had only two touchbacks. Powell is comfortable booting directional punts, toward the sideline, a tactic that is given a high priority by Bills special teams coach Bruce DeHaven.
  10. I thought Justin Rogers looked pretty good last year (for a rookie). He seems improved this year, what I have seen of him. Quite a gem, though, I would say, for a 7th round draft pick.
  11. This is a ridiculous analogy. Pick a new team because your home town team has sucked for a long time? Why don't you just send your misbehaving children to a foster home? Then go adopt a couple more kids?
  12. Fitz has taken a couple steps backwards in this off-season. Did you watch the Jets game last week? He sucked - flat out sucked. When his first throw this week landed 3 yards from the receiver's feet, I thought "oh crap, not another game like last week..." How else do fans express that they are pissed off at a poor performance? Thankfully, the Bills ran the ball a lot, and the Chiefs are so bad, they could not pull it out. Bills fans have tolerated a lousy product for a long time. They need to express their feelings! Boo as you see fit.
  13. Soggy, you'll have plenty of time for joining the NFL... when you're livin' in a van down by the river!
  14. I think the Bills will always manage to pull off a few wins, usually enough to leave them out the Top QB derby on draft day. I was really pissed off last Sunday and thought, maybe I should cancel the Sunday Ticket. It is so frustrating to wait for the crappy Bills game to end, so I can finally watch the good games. But there is usually hope due to the draft or (oh my God) free agency, so by August I am jonesing again for Bills football. But if they suck like this in various games this year, maybe I will can the Sunday Ticket.
  15. What is rather bizarre about the Bills not drafting QBs high is that Jim Kelly was not the Bills first pick that year. He was a 1st round pick alright, but another 1st rounder preceded him. You old timers will know who that top pick was.
  16. That's the way it usually works for One Bills Drive. And then, it's "oh, we like the QB we have." All those INTs were the receivers' fault. Like they have become allergic to drafting a QB for some reason.
  17. #26 Winfield Because I like the way that little guy tackles the bad guys. I remember him flipping some Titans TE upside down. Also, because I bought it 8 years ago...
  18. Does anyone else expect the Marcell Dareus will miss the KC game due to family matters? I have not heard anything about it yet, but it would make sense that he might be called away.
  19. So did I. I was out of work, and the first thing I turned on was TBD. Then I had to go watch it on TV.
  20. ding a ding a ding ding ding, da ding a ding a dee... Mr Softee made his way thru Kenmore, too, playing that silly little song.
  21. This is what really pisses me off about the Nix/Gailey regime, the complete refusal to draft a young QB, what is it, unless "he's a 10-15 year guy". What kind of crap is that? Sometimes I wish the TBD posters were running the draft. (Sometimes, that is!) We would at least have Skelton or Russell Wilson or Cousins - a guy who can be developed for a year or two. Nix/Gailey refuse to see that as a need for the Bills.
  22. "We don't only sing - but we dance just as good as we walk" (one of my favorites) Well, I'll be darned: http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=8368 James Brown performed this song at some of his live shows - it's one of the few songs he performed but did (not) write. His version can be found on the 1968 album Say It Live And Loud: Live In Dallas.
  23. Sorry, but I call that garbage time. Soft coverages at that point. The Bills made me feel stupid for being somewhat optimistic about this season. It's not too late to start winning, but they do seem to lack any fire in their bellies. Very sad to see.
  24. Well, this is a ridiculous assertion, but I know what you mean. When we had the #3 pick (and took Marcell), the top-rated QB that year was Blaine Gabbert. Not exactly worth a #3 pick. But I agree with you in principle. What pisses me off is that Nix/Gailey refuse to recognize that they need to draft and develop a young QB. It does not have to be a 1st round pick. In recent years, prospects like Osweiler, Skelton, Cousins were available. Of course, there is always some other position to be filled. But they need to take a shot. Not just a Levi Brown in the 7th. Put a bit more resources into it, fer cryin out loud. For all of the "offensive genius" stuff we hear about Chan, he does not seem to see a need to develop a young QB. That is where Nix/Gailey really disappoint me. In general, I'm a big Chan Gailey fan. But on this young QB issue, I strongly disagree with the coach.
