  1. I hate to be rude, man....but a 7?????? We are on iPhone 15s now. Its not the Bills' or the app developer's or the NFL's fault you are purposely choosing to use an old device. I know these devices can be $$$$ but you can get an upgrade with your current carrier for very little money these days and you can pay them off over time.
  2. Its funny...I actually joke with my friend who is an Islanders fan about thier new building. First time I was there (UBS Arena) I asked him 'Where's the Gap and Old Navy?" becuase walking the councourse it defintely had a little bit of a "mall vibe" to it. But....my point remains. The building is awesome and the it took all of 8.5 seconds for those Islanders fans, who had a building very similar to The Ralph in terms of astethic (old, loud and "blue collar") and a rowdy gameday "culture" just like we do, to get on board with their new shiny buidling and all the new creature comforts and amenities. They now love it. I will add something else I have noticed in these new buildings. And this is just my personal experience.... Dare I say that in these newer buildings its a bit more...civilized. Still loud. Still super fun. Still downright rowdy at times. But theres a lot more familes. More college kids. More couples on dates. Its not just ten guys going together and getting piss drunk out of their minds and looking to fight. And maybe Im getting older now...but I dont see that as a terrible thing.
  3. Welcome to the modern sports experience. Most of the stadium clubs have whole sections that dont even have a TV! The Piazza Club at CitiField is like this. Its a really nice giant area with food and a giant bar and couches and very few tvs to watch the actual game. Crazy. I DO have to admit, when its cold in April or brutally hot in August, its a nice place to go for an inning or two. I would bet that a lot of people who complain avout these renderings have never been to a new stadium or arena. The 70s and 80s are over. What youre seeing in these renderings is STANDARD in ALL sports buildings, even on the "minor league" levels. I remember when Shea Stadium closed....that I must have gone to hundreds of times in my life. It was home and comfortable and all the CitiField renderings looked weird and like it would never have the same "feel" as Shea. And when it opened it WAS weird and felt almost "too nice" for Mets fans (save the jokes, please!). And now? ITS AWESOME. Its loud and home and has a million creature comforts and great food and I couldnt imagine going "back" to the old way of watching a baseball game. And most important? It has a super cool vibe and is just downright FUN to go to. Trust me folks....Its going to be awesome. It will be weird and youll feel out of place at first. And while youll still always miss The Ralph (I know I will), in the end youre going to love it.
  4. For me, it was "The Dead" with Joan Osborne. I absolutely LOVED what she brought to the band and although the guitar work with Jimmy Herring wasnt as good as Mayer (a TRUE lead guitarist), when Warren Haynes joined....WOW. The whole band together and still young, having a piano player AND organ player (Rob Baracco and Jeff) and of course Joan made for some REALLY good music.
  5. 1 generic pls.
  6. Chris Hazzard just remastered this classic. How many of you were there? The Ship of Fools is just....sublime.
  7. Im not watching but heard about Pidcock and that "move" he made. Ive done that move in a few MTB races, myself 😍. Pogacar dropping out took a lot of juice out of the Olypics race for me. Im not a huge Pogi fan, Im more of a Jonas guy but I felt he should be there. People dont understand what the Tour is like for fans of the sport. Its literally a Super Bowl level must watch event every single day for three weeks. Even if the race is settled or the stage is a bit flat, the spectacle and intensity of the riders and crowds is just amazing. On a seperate note, my GOD is Paul Sherwin missed and CVV belongs in studio doing analysis, not giving observations on course. I want to literally strangle Bookwalter by the end of the race, especially with regard to how he smugly looked down his nose at Girmay.
  8. Good thing no other teams defer contracts.
  9. Reminds me of The Station fire from several years back. Never been there…Place looks like it was an absolute deathtrap but maybe I’m wrong and the place was all up to code Still offering my condolences to those who had a good time there.
  10. Always "amazing" how quick buildings that will make money go up. Meanwhile, municipal projects (roads, bridges, etc.) take forever.
  11. Warms my heart that after all these years I still annoy the hell out of you. 😛 Just picked this whip up...about 500 miles on it so far. Its devine. https://enve.com/products/melee-complete-bike
  12. I dont agree. But I DO think he was a little ham-fisted with his words. The term "homemaker" is a loaded one which to a lot of people implies "get back into the kitchen." But there is no queation that running a good home is tough job and an important one thats been downplayed and crapped on in search of some new noble calling for women in the workforce. Which kind of leads me to my next point here.... A LOT of people who are outraged over this have also been on the side of "screw the man" and "your career isnt everything...find something else thats closer to your heart" and all that, especially post-COVID. Isnt that the same thing Butker is saying?
  13. Of course not. But he clearly used the term "vocation" both as him as father and his wife as a mother. Thats something thats aspired and worked toward, not born with.
  14. Has anybody bothered to ask actual MOTHERS if they feel that being a mom and making sure their children have a safe and nurturing home is "the most important thing" to them? Id bet a lot of money the vast majority of them...even ones with big time careers outside the home...would say that it is. Becuase all I know is that Im a "father and provider" and there is ABSOLTUELY NOTHING ON THIS PLANET that comes remotely close to that title in terms of priority, importance, sense of duty or pride for me.
  15. Any relation to Drugs Delaney, from Rhode Island?
  16. It was for a very Catholic, traditional school, dude. The outrage you’re looking for on behalf of the students just isn’t there. The people who went to this school are on board with his comments.
  17. I hate to drop this on ya, but youre going to be very hard pressed to find a religion that doesnt have something to say and explicit rules about the respective roles of men and women with regard to families, procreation, etc.
  18. A Catholic person at a gathering of Catholic individuals gave a speech where he/she/they promoted the values of living as a Catholic. Now replace the word "Catholic" with the name of any other social/political identity or class and let me know if its still something to be "outraged and offended" about. Always amazes me how in the modern world where literally everything is looked at through the prism of extreme dogma, the group that basically invented the damned word is the only one thats denounced for practicing it.
  19. In my opinion, the whole saga of OJ Simpson is one of the most tragic and sad stories in American cultural history.
  20. Unless Im WAY off, the purpose of the PSL is to finance the construction of the Stadium. And a sports team...last I checked...needs a stadium to play and in this day and age thats a lot more than brick steel, toilets, grass and some seats. Also, you act like sports teams are the only businesses that get tax breaks. Ever hear of IDAs? You also cant compare a fast food franchise to a sports team and how they operate and are financed. Come on.
  21. How does "greed" comes into play here? Name me a business that DOESNT pass at least a significant portion of the cost of doing business on to its customers in one way, shape or form. Until Im shown that team ownership is soaking the fans in this new building and charging prices with a very very high markup, the "greed" argument just doesnt wash.
  22. Then a boat. Or putting a pool and patio with kitchen in your yard. Or maybe a second "hobby" car, like a Vette or some classic car. Or if youre me and really into cycling, a pro-level road bike ($12-$14K). A PSL is no different than stuff like the above in that its part of the "cost" of the thing that one enjoys for recreation. And if youre one of those folks who make going to Bills games 8-10 times a year and doing the tailgate in OP a priority in your life for fun and rec time, this is the current price of participation in 2024.
  23. Fans: "We need bigger buffaloes!...We need top of the line amenities!...We need a bigger buidling!....we need a roof!...we need beer and food stands every ten feet!....we need a thousand TVs in the building!." Ownership: "OK, this is what that will cost to build and provide all that and what we will charge our customers to make it happen" Fans: REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. The organization sent out a multiple page survey to all season ticket holders and then expanded the survey to the general fanbase. It was several pages long and covered multiple topics from tailgating preferences, to where the building should go, to what it should be like inside, to what flavor the urinal cakes should be. Did you not complete the survey? You should have completed the survey. FWIW, I picked "chocolate chocolate chip" on the urinal cakes flavor multiple choice question. Also...if you read my rant to the end, you would have noticed it had a happy ending. https://www.driveresearch.com/market-research-company-blog/survey-shows-what-bills-fans-want-for-new-stadium-in-buffalo/ https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Daily/Issues/2022/07/06/Facilities/Bills-stadium-survey-fan-experience.aspx https://spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/buffalo/news/2022/05/07/bills-release-new-survey-asking-for-input-from-season-ticket-holders
