  1. I agree. Do note though that the NFL doesn’t market it like this and neither do the pundits. I always wonder why it is dubbed as Allen vs Mahomes or Rogers vs Brady and stats are bandied about regarding head to heads. Not like QBs see the field at the same time…go to a tennis court if you want HTH to have any meaning (and even there it is over-valued).
  2. Yep. It’s the NFL. We lost one game. Happens to most good teams for diverse reasons. In nearly 20 years of following and occasionally posting here, I still don’t understand why anyone gives a flying F about hot takes from these guys like Smith, Cowherd, and others who deliberately push buttons to ge5 clicks or reactions. Anyone who watched the last three Bills games and spot-checked the rest of the NFL knows who the teams who have the talent to win the SB are this year. The Bills are one of them. It would take something catastrophic for us to miss the playoffs. We need the fortune to have our best players available when we do to make the final push. Long season, we will see.
  3. Poorly-informed hot takes are the new normal. Didn’t you get the memo? 😀
  4. You do realize that our O line was also either completely gassed, or playing backups by the 4th for the most part? I’ve seen all kinds of blame being thrown around for lack of a running game. Mitch being out hurts for sure as noted by others but it is clear that good run blocking like we saw against LA for a fair number of plays requires the cohesion of the first unit, including line and receivers. Any time we play backups at these positions the run game goes To hell in a hand basket.
  5. Realization won’t prevent them from moaning and groaning about it.
  6. We need a cohesive group up front who can…I don’t know…not miss their blocking assignments? Personally I feel that far too much blame gets put on the backs.
  7. Oh, yeah. Hogboy. I remember his rants about “Throughman” Thomas in 94-95 I think. Went on for multiple threads ranting about how the Bills should cut #34 😂 He definitely was an awesome troll with many incarnations. Personally I preferred lennie in sloan, who would always sign off with ‘Go Cowboys America’s team we beet you in three supper bowls’, but PETE CARROLL was pretty fun too.
  8. This wouldn’t be at all a problem if QB yards didn’t include YAC. So you have an out Labatt. Just claim you were using a different definition and presto, no dunce cap needed.
  9. ‘Blank Space’ is all her making fun of herself for being a nutter. I’d say it’s pretty self-aware, self-deprecating, and a catchy tune at that.
  10. not too shabby on the eyes, either… 🙂
  11. In terms of pure racquet skill and footwork the only player I’ve seen in 40+ years that can arguable be considered a similar pure talent is McEnroe. Rafa and Djokovic are also tremendous players and amongst the best of this generation as well, but their strengths are different. I never tire of watching Fed play due to his unique combination of artistry, movement, finesse, power and pure shotmaking ability. When he was at his best, he brought the game to another level and it took guys with amazing mental strength, backboard like consistency, and Gumby-like movement to be able to beat him. Every generation seems to have one or two superior talents, that is true. You’d have to go back to the 60s when there were four Aussies who were similarly dominant over the field as Rafa, Fed, and Novak. Rafa is now 36 and has very bad knees, but the fact that he is still in the top 3 and a threat to win every tournament he enters, along with Novak, speaks volumes. This new kid Alcaraz who just won the Us Open might be the next Fed as far as changing the game. We will see.
  12. Wouldn’t be the first time some troll did that, and it certainly won’t be the last. Just thinking of Hogboy brings a rueful smile to my face…
  13. 😒 Your nose for talent evaluation and personnel fit with the offensive scheme is clearly based on expertise whetted and carefully honed by years of keyboard jockeydom. As it is clearly superior to the poorly informed decisions of professionals whose job it is to make decisions using real data, would you consider teaching a course to pass your talents to those not gifted with such skills?
  14. So interesting that you chose to post again after this declaration. You Pats and Dolphins trolls are a rather sad lot.
  15. Half the Bay Area pundits are falling over themselves to excoriate Shanahan for calling too many designed runs. This I find to be a lousy take, as mobility is part of his skill set and that’s part of the reason they liked him so much. A sizable fraction of the rest are talking about how brilliant Lynch is to have kept Jimmy G, despite the fact that they couldn’t get him on the bus out of town fast enough last year to allow their new poster boy to start. I guess a division win makes them quickly forget all their stupid takes about him being the reason they didn’t beat the Rams last year. SF homers are so bloody spoiled.
  16. I always preferred Easterbrook and his TMQ column for pure entertainment and reasonable football IQ, although others have previously commented on the, shall we say, questionable nature of some of his non-football related content he chose to throw in there. But agree that Simmons writing was right up there in quality, if you can look away from his clear regional biases.
  17. There’s usually more than one. Sometimes they turn out to be the same dude, but. 😀
  18. Anybody know a place in London (UK) that will screen this game? I am struggling to find anything and probably SOL.
  19. This is an interesting take. They clearly understood the risk and seems to me upgraded the pass rush and drafted two CBs to compensate. I would hardly term it a disaster of an operation…but feel free to indulge in histrionics if it makes you feel good.
  20. Indeed. They are stacked everywhere but O-line. If Lance can deal with this and they avoid major injuries, unfortunately the 49ers will be a tough out for anyone, including our heroes.
  21. In the Bay Area pundits have been trying to get rid of Jimmy for years. Media hate him and fans blame him solely for last year’s LA loss in the championship and the D blowing a 4th quarter SB lead three years back. Niner fans are amongst the most entitled and spoiled in all of sports. It is going to be a lovely circus. I have popcorn at the ready. 🥳
  22. Excellent passes don’t miss. He had plenty that led his receivers out of bounds and the TD to Diggs would have been upheld as a non-TD if the refs had called in properly as a no-catch on the field. And three in a row at one point that weren’t within 10 yards of his receivers. I suppose it was the wind. Your Allen bias shows through sir.
  23. How dare you post this. Random TBD members who spend their afternoons drinking 40s know far more than paid NFL coaches, pundits, and former players. Didn’t you get the message? The truly informed know Tremaine is a horrible player.
